Best curry we have had in 3 weeks being on Sri Lanka!

Incredibly tasty, varied and generous curry, beautifully served in little clay pots. We added a fish curry which was also delicious, and spicy (at our request ). He topped up some of our bowls when we emptied them, and we left there feeling very full! The lassi was also yummy.

Lovely vegetable curry with huge portions! Very popular with the locals which is always a good sign. Juices were also nice. I’d recommend this place if you want authentic Sri Lankan curry

A great meal with a fantastic milkshake! Based on the many recommendations online we decided to go for the rice and curry dish. The dahl, beans, okra and sambar were fantastic while the raw veggies were just that. The only slightly disappointing dish we thought was the jackfruit which was not very flavorful. Still overall with this many options, a great meal with great portion size as well. Even though we didn’t finish it all, the owner was offering seconds. While we skipped these, the added fruit platter was a welcome evening closer. As last positive highlight I would like to bring up the milkshake. For people who love thick rich milkshakes, the banana one offered here was fantastic! One last point is that prices are reasonable yet slightly above similar experiences as we found in Mirissa (Dhana’s) or Weligama (Meewitha’s) for similar meals.

What can I say about this place, absolutely incredible food, service and wonderful humans that own and run this place. They literally opened up for me and my girlfriend on Christmas Day in the evening to serve us a wonderful experience. Love this place so much and will be back many times.

Excellent, kind, smiling and helpful service. Everything is so delicious. Juices are so good, made from fresh ingredients, full of flavor. It's also a bit loud due to the proximity to the main road, but don't get discourage. Curry is perfect!

To start, the veg curry was amazing, just like the 9 bowl platter that everyone has posted pictures of. My Wife and I could have shared the one order of that and been very stuffed. The owner is the friendliest young man who absolutely pours his heart into his little business, it was bumping off with to go orders and other locals popping in for a quick bite. Even gave us an unexpected delicious fruit plate to cap off our meal. Would definitely recommend for this part. However, the curry platter took over 45 minutes to come out as his family must have been busy in the back, and he was literally running around busy in front. Secondly, the calamari took even longer to come out and when it did, the calamari itself was very tasty but the sides (chips and steamed veg) was just a small bowl of cheap French fries and literally 4 slices each of raw cucumber and tomato. Not even close to what we thought we were getting, and a complete contrast to the AMAZING curry. Having worked in restaurants for 10 years myself, to the owner, I would recommend hiring some help for things like plate clearing, making smoothies, and cutting fruit so that you can focus on the key part of the business, making sure guests are taken well care of (not waiting too long for food), and making sure the food quality is excellent for all dishes. I wish this little business all thee best and hope they take the feedback!

Like the song says, this must be the place! We went for dinner last night (02.03.22) during the longest power cut of Sri Lanka of the recent years and wow this family-own restaurant managed to keep the promises and the food dreams we had while reading the reviews despite the difficult situation! We had kotthu (veggie and fish) and was mind blowing, not greasy just tasty! At the end, the owner came to sit with us, show us with proud how it all started in 2019 and offered us an amazing plate of fresh fruits. Go there it's a food heaven, you won't regret it!

Absolutely outstanding! Our last day in sri Lanka & the best food/hospitality we have had since being here. The freshest, tastiest & best quality curries. Owner kept topping up the bowls & bringing new curries then gave us a big plate of fruit for dessert. Amazing value for money & owner is so friendly & kind. We came to Tallala Juice & Curry to get some breakfast and it was absolutely delicious! We had some rice with big varieties of curries, fried noodles, coconut roti and string hoppers! We also ordered tasty fresh juices and got some sweat treats and fruits for dessert. Prices are really low as for that part of Sri Lanka and the place is very clean and you will be always well-treated here! Totally recommend to visit to anyone who is into Sri Lankan food 🤤

WOW. We absolutely loved this place. The food was incredible, every dish was delicious. The portions are large and moorish! The service and presentation is impeccable. A huge thank you to Dinesha and Premal for a wonderful evening. The food and presentation is something you’d expect in a 5 star hotel.

Sri Lankan home cooking at its best - TJC exceeded all our expectations! The clean, simple, elegant decor allows diners to focus on the superb food that Dinesha and Premal provide. We had a delicious and generous serving of chicken kotthu one evening, that was moistened with a rich chicken gravy and garnished with crisp cucumber slices and tomatoes that would satisfy even the most experienced kotthu fan! Our next meal consisted of a veritable feast of Sri Lankan rice and curry favourites that just kept coming and coming! All the dishes were freshly prepared and served in beautiful clay dishes that heightened the vibrant greens, browns and yellows of the varied curries they contained. We ate red rice with fresh green beans, okra, amberella curry, mallung, aubergine curry, lentils, cucumber and onion salad, chicken curry, devilled peppers and poppadoms finished off with fresh watermelon slices and bananas! This is food made with love and Dinesha and Premal exude warmth and kindness in the quality of their deliciously prepared foods as well as in their interactions with diners. You will not eat better food anywhere! This is a destination eatery!!

Had the most amazing fish curry and Ceylon tea with ginger at this restaurant. The fish curry with rice came with numerous side dishes from lentils to vegetables. Each one was delicious. Affordable and absolutely worth coming here if you’re in Talalla! The owner has a lovely energy and helped us figure out details for an event.

Juices & Curry was recommended by our host and it was truly amazing. Everything was very tasty and super fresh. The service was also really great. The owner even drove to the next supermarket to make us a mango lassi - how nice is that!? We had Rice and curry and fried rice. Both meals were good and tasty. They serve food in clay pots. A few tables are available. Road side open restaurant and not covered one. Meal prices were OK. **They charge for the number of people not for the portion**. Here is the story. When ordering I clearly asked if the potion size is enough for sharing. He said portion is for 1 person. So we ordered 2 rice and curry and 2 fried rice for four people. First we got 2 rice and curry and portions were good enough to share with 3 people. So we wanted to cancel 1 fried rice but it was being prepared so I asked for take away. The owner gave some extra Papadams and asked whether we need refills for curries. We thought it was his generosity anyway we didn't take any refills since we had enough. When I am doing the payment the total bill was higher. When I questioned the owner he said they are charging for the number of plates not the portios. At the end I had to pay for 5 meals.

This food is EXQUISITE. The rice and curry was such an experience. Delicious, talented, such high quality. Everything was cooked to perfection, I’m blown away. I’m a massive foodie with a love of traditional Srilankan food. This is the best rice and curry I’ve ever had. My travelling buddy also agreed. Amazing.

The most delicious food in the most authentic atmosphere you can think of. We got welcomed so warmly. Before we sat down even the floor got swept. We ordered kottu and vegetable curry which came in a variety we never tasted before. We ate all over the world but honestly in this small hut beneath the street we found our food heaven. Friendly owner, kottu Rotti was delicious, rice with 7 curries was not so tasty, a little dry (compared to other SL food around Talalla) and unfortunately the rice and curry was cold. Also, we and other customers waited 1.5 hours for the food (apparently because they where short on staff we were told when we left the restaurant). On top of that, they charged us beers we hadn’t ordered in the first place and we only drank since we thought it was meant as a gift for the long wait. We would have appreciated clear communication by the owner (e.g. expected waiting time). The prices were very high for the quality of food and service.

Absolutely INCREDIBLE Rice & Curry. The food that have been served here to us was definitely the best food we have eaten during our whole stay in Sri Lanka! ❤️👍🏽 Even though there was a gas shortage (!) - the gas stove wasn’t operating properly - we were served with food cooked over an wooden fire. The food and service was absolutely on point and I cannot recommend this place enough!

Talalla Juice and Curry is one of the best curries I ever tried in my life. I went to have dinner there 4 evenings out of 4 days I stayed in Talalla. Every day new selection of curry, beautiful serving and you even don't mind that you have to wait a little. Food is simply so delicious and homemade by family who really cares about customers and their little bussines . You will get fruit platter or salad for free after meal and it's such a huge amount of food that me and my partner were not able to finish it. I highly recommend this place, it's simply the best food ever,probably best food in Sri Lanka.

This place in Thalalle was fantastic. Great value for money and incredible food. We all got rice and curry, all except the rice was cold, and there was a fantastic collection of curries, sambals and garnishes, and the curries we’re topped up once we finished a bowl. Really attentive, friendly service. And finished with a fruit plate which we couldn’t actually eat because we were so full and we didn’t know it was coming.

Wow, this was really a surprise. although the restaurant is very basic, the food was fantastic. we had the veg rice and curry and the (really nice) owner kept bringing bowls and bowls. it seems to be very popular among locals as well! It is the perfect spot for lunch during a beach stay at tallala beach. good to have a local alternative among the rather touristic places at the beach.
