DO NOT GO HERE, EVEN IN AN EMERGENCY! I was brought in by paramedics because I could not breathe due to Pneumonia. I will not pretend to call what I received in the hospital as "care". It was more like deliberate medical malpractice. The nurses are arrogant and rude. They also have absolutely NO idea how to operate most of the medical equipment and there seem to be no technical personnel who do. Each day I was assigned a different doctor, each whom gave me a cursory check with a stethoscope, but otherwise refused to discuss my symptoms or condition because they only had about two minutes to spend on me. Worse, the staff pulled my prescription records from the pharmacy, but apparently got years worth of old data and could not make sense of it. So they WITHHELD my medications because they could not even be bothered to contact my regular doctors to confirm what I was supposed to be receiving. At one point I had a crisis, because they were giving me oxygen via nasal canula. But seasonal allergies were causing me to become fully congested and unable to breathe. They insisted that they could not even provide an over-the-counter decongestant without a doctor to prescribe, and NONE were available! IN A HOSPITAL! I had to do an emergency self-blowout using tissues and a cup of tap water in my bed! This review would become far too long if I listed everything else they handled incompetently. They were lucky that I lost my voice from coughing and it took weeks for me to be able to speak again. Because otherwise, after I checked myself out for my own safety and went to see a REAL doctor, I was sorely tempted to contact a lawyer and open a medical malpractice lawsuit.

most front desk staff have zero patient care and are not educated enough to help patients that are sick and in pain. Very rude when calling people. A few people are really nice but more rude than nice. The nurses are too busy standing or sitting around instead getting patients discharges quickly after seeing the provider. The providers and transport people are very kind. I had to almost request my xrays and go elsewhere after sitting in the waiting room for over 4 hours and my daughter had a concussion and no imaging was ordered. Immediately after making the request to leave me and my daughter was given a room. After the provider spoke with me she told the nurse the discharge instructions and I waited 15 minutes if not longer before going to the nurse station asking to be discharged. I was there around 7pm and left at 230am. Absolutely terrible patient care at Lutheran and from what I witnessed the long waits are because of the lazy nurses. I heard several people complaining in the rooms area about the rude and unprofessional front lobby staff. I feel they are not fit for the job because they have no patient care nor do they understand patients.

May 26th waited in the waiting room three hours. They don’t listen to what’s going on automatically assume. I asked for water three times was not given any. Never checked on me no doctor nurse practitioner who didn’t seem to want to hear what was going on with me. Ordered test for heart problems had zero symptoms for cardiac. Always in a rush to get in and out of the room. Never received anything for my pain. Can hear staff talk about patients and how they turned into a problem. FYI my number popped up on the problem list. I never come to the hospital but when I do it’s for a good reason. I’m not frequent flyer. I don’t ask for pain medication or any at all. To be treated and not heard out is unacceptable. The care was awful and worst experience. Sorry I came here. Not to mention I’m an ex nurse and this why I no longer do it. Truly they don’t care.

Unfortunately, Lutheran Breast Center is not what it used to be. In fact, the entire hospital operation isn't what it used to be. Too many changes of ownership over the years and too many employees who have attitude or just don't care anymore. I feel sorry for the few left who are really good caregivers and committed to delivering quality health care. They are carrying the load for those who are less than committed to the profession.

Absolutely wonderful place to give birth! I was allowed to do everything I wanted and needed to have a very successful vbac here! I could eat, drink, move, take a bath and relax while in labor. The nurses were amazing. Labor room was excellent with an amazing bathtub and enough room for my whole support team! Recovery area was great with a double bed with actual sheets! I wasn't woken up for vitals when I was asleep which was amazing. I highly recommend this hospital for birth!!

I had a horrible time here after having my baby. The delivery nurses were great but once they moved me and my baby to the other floor it was horrible. They would barely check on me and when I would call them it was like an inconvenience to them! Only one post partum nurse was great but only had her for a small amount of time. One nurse refused to give me more disposable underwear and sanitary pads! I literally needed those! I hemorrhaged! As we were leaving the nurse rushed us out. They didn’t even take me down to the car in a wheelchair as they knew my legs were still weak from epidural and I was dizzy. It wasn’t a good experience at all recovering there and they rarely checked on my son. I deeply regret choosing this hospital. I live an hour away from this place and didn’t need to go out of my way to deliver there. My pediatrician was really disappointed they didn’t send me home with paperwork for her that she needed for my sons first visit. It took them forever to send it to her and on top of that the birth certificate papers got mixed up with someone else and I still haven’t received a call back when I’ve called and left messages multiple times. I need that fixed!!! I’m giving two stars because the labor and delivery nurses were amazing and helped me so much but other than that it was such an awful experience especially being a first time mom. I recommend going somewhere else to avoid these issues. This was supposed to be a good experience and the entire time after having my baby I was beyond stressed out and couldn’t believe how rude and cold those nurses could be. I hope I get a call back soon about my sons birth certificate. It still drives me crazy all of the information on it was wrong. We went over it with the lady and she had to finalize it but everything was right the first time she came in and then looking into my folder as soon as o got home it was all wrong! I hope my information didn’t go to another person. It’s really frustrating. It’s been two weeks since I’ve tried getting a call back and nothing!

It would take me a couple hours for me to give praise to every element of my stay at Lutheran. Dozens of doctors, nurses, and general staff treated me with care and compassion. I have never experienced such a professional and caring crew.

Scheduled admission took 7 hours to get a closet sized room in an overflow unit. IV site acquired infection turned Three day stay to eight days. Discharged and sent out in the cold in a wheelchair transport in a hospital gown with nothing under it. Covered in a flimsy blanket with legs sticking out. Keep in mind she came to the hospital in clothes and a coat. When I told the "patient" rep she told me it wasn't their policy to dress discharges to rehab centers because they would do a skin check. Yes Mom is now in rehab to recover from her hospital stay, day 10 of rehab. Waiting to see if she can get back home before Christmas. Mom is 93 and was living Independently prior. The 2 stars are for some of the great nurses she had during this nightmare.

I was very disappointed with Lutheran, my husband had surgery their going to two weeks ago, I went home and was told they would update me on his progress because his surgery was 9 hours long..I received one day when they started the procedure and that was it. After 8 hours I finally went back to the hospital to see what was going on and he was still in surgery. I waited till he got in his room and went home. The next day I came back to visit him and we couldn't find his phone. Apparently they change his bed because it wasn't working correctly, I talked to the nurses and called security. I have a tracker on my phone. I was frantic because there was a lot of info. The tracker stated in was in the hospital somewhere so I actually walked around the floor and I found his old bed and there was his phone in the side of his bed. I can't believe no one knew where they put his broken bed. I wasn't impressed with a couple of the nurses, except two I think their names were Heidi and Miranda. The guy nurse was very cold and not friendly at all. I told Miranda that as well. Then the same day of the phone issue I walked in his room and there were blood on his pillows which were never changed and he didn't even have a sheet on his bed just the mattress cover the garbage can was full, Miranda came in and saw the mess and started change the pillow cases and put a sheet on his bed. I've been at Lutheran several times and never had that experience. I must say I believe it is going down hill. It was a bad experience for me and my husband. The guy acted like he didn't even want to be there or be bothered. I'm sorry I had to give such a bad review. Terri & Bob Reynolds

I showed up as a Sepsis alert, with open wounds bleeding from multiple spots on my body. I was extremely fatigued and disoriented, which I made sure the staff was aware of. When I was being discharged, I asked my ER Nurse if I could have a large bandaid because I was bleeding so badly. She said "I'll see if I have anything". Again, that's an ER nurse.. upon her return, I was standing with my shirt off leaking a large amount of blood from the side of my body, and she clearly saw it, she threw the bandage on the bed, told me to feel better, and walked out shutting the curtain behind her. Didn't even offer me a rag to get the blood off me. I used paper towels to clean my wound and body, and did my best to put on a bandage on the side of my body without a mirror. I guess they dont have ER techs to dress wounds, the patients do it themselves. The fact my wound never got treated is beyond disgusting. After that, I was told to walk to the pharmacy, even though my nurse knew I was weak and disoriented. I kept getting lost and had to brace against a wall multiple times. I'm beyond angry with how I was treated at discharge, and this complaint will be escalated through the hospital and other health angiencies. Unacceptable!

The quick response time/expertise of the medical personnel at Lutheran Medical Center saved my mother's life. She experienced a life-threatening heart attack that inheritently has a low survival rate. The staff members from Clerks, ER, OR, ICU, and Telemetry, RT, Lab, Imaging, and Housekeeping all have incredible bedside manner. They patiently took the time to listen to several questions/concerns from family. The smallest acts of kindness and positive attitudes make an incredible difference in such difficult circumstances.

I've had 3 babies here. First 2 experiences were absolutely awful throughout my entire stay. My last birth which was January 2023 I had to be induced. Dr. Amber Fontenot was great! She did all my prenatal care and delivery and when I had shoulder dytocia she remained calm and got my baby out quickly and safely. Unfortunately all the nurses there were awful from when we checked in to the induction all the way to discharge. All of them had horrible attitudes. I had to be on monitors the whole time during labor and the monitors kept falling off and the blonde nurse I had on at the time rolled her eyes and complained everytime I asked for help. At one point I noticed the pitocin was also pinched and called her and she sat in there at least 15 minutes glaring at my husband and I stating we did it and demanded to know why. I had to ask for her to no longer come back. No one was helpful, I felt like I was bothering the nurses everytime I needed something. Melissa was in the delivery room and was the only positive nurse. After we got moved I bled all over the bed and got to stay like that the rest of my stay. My husband and I were the ones changing the pads trying to make it some what clean because no one else did. I asked for more sanitary pads and the nurse acted like they came out of her paycheck and I recieved 2 more once she finally gave me some. No one checked on us and had attitudes when they didthe rest of the time we were there. When being discharged I had to remind the nurse to take the big plastic off her belly button she was pulling and tugging at it and my daughter was screaming. The other nurse offered to get a newer pair to take it off easier and she kept using the same one tugging at my daughters cord. It's unfortunate the doctors are great because 99% of the nurses were absolutely awful in every way. 3 similar times so I cant blame one experience on maybe them having an "off day". I also have private insurance, so paying to be treated like sh*t was great.

Complete negligence. I will be filing a complaint with the Head of the Emergency Room Department. Went in very sick, and left very sick. Still sick because the Emergency Room Doctor refused to complete one simple test. Finally diagnosed by a Doctor who took the time to to complete a test. My Son who is a Nurse Practitioner asked the Doctor twice if he could complete this test. The Doctor replied twice the test was not necessary. Again, complete negligence on the Doctor’s part.

I recently visited Lutheran Medical Center for a medical procedure. I thought the care I received from the time I walked into the building until the time I left was exceptional. The entrance I needed to go in was clearly marked and easy to find. There was a quiet and peaceful reception area where I waited only a few minutes before someone came out to get me registered. All the doctors and staff that stop by to speak with me before my procedure were friendly, and gave me confidence my procedure would be a success. After my procedure I was checked on often. I rarely had to use the nurse call button because my nurses were very attentive. All in all I thought my stay went exceptionally well.

I just gave birth to my son 4-10-23 when I was moved to mom and baby unit a social worker came to my room told me they took my urine and some of my son's umbilical cord behind our back. All results were negative its the fact I was accused of something I didn't do I never missed a Dr appointment I have no drug history. I was pregnant at the time they took my urine with out my knowledge and took my son's umbilical cord with out my knowledge otherwise medically they were good

My 85 year old mom went for a kidney stones surgery. The whole experience was HORRIBLE!! During the first procedure getting her stints in her back was the worst experience ever! The 45 minutes surgery took 2 hours and no one came to us letting us know what was going on why she was taking so long etc. Very poor communication I finally had to get a little demanding of what is going on and finally a nurse called back to see why it was an hour over that they were having complications. My mom at that point couldn't have her surgery because she was in bad shape she told that doctor it was hurting her and that she was cold

Came to the emergency roomwith food poisoning, I was in pain! Vomiting in the lobby. The nurse proceeded to skip me because they felt my pain wasn't a priority! This place is terrible! I had to walk out and go to an urgent care because I couldn't take the pain anymore!!

I had to have a surprise to me surgery at the last minute due to an issue my old doctor failed to tell me about that my new doctor caught. Because of her, I was able to have it resolved and was promptly taken care of. She was the nicest surgeon. The entire team was amazing! Everyone was so kind and caring. Even the receptionist helped my sister find the best place to nap and helped her find my room when she kept forgetting. My pain after surgery was very bad and they listened and got it under control. The aftercare was amazing. Out of every surgery I've ever had and every hospital I've been too, this was by far the best experience.

The staff and professional care offered at this facility is excellent. From the time you enter and sign in, to the time you leave, everyone is pleasant, helpful and eager to assist in anyway. Even showing you how to make a cup of coffee as you’re waiting☺️ I highly recommend Lutheran Breast Center. You’ll receive caring and professional personnel.

My dad was seen in the ER after a fall. The ER staff was very kind and empathetic towards him. They did a good job finding out what was wrong with him. He was admitted for kidney failure and had an amazing hospitalist who was very knowledgeable with his condition. The nurses and staff were good to my father during his stay. They seemed busy and a little short-staffed but they were nice to him and did well caring for him.

My husband and I had our 2ND baby back in January the service at Lutheran medical Center labor and delivery was exceptional. At first we were little skeptical about picking this hospital after reading the reviews and how many stars it had. We compared it to other hospitals around the area that had higher stars and we were unsure of where we wanted to deliver. The final decision ended up being Lutheran hospital and from start to finish everything was absolutely amazing this hospital should be five stars for labor and delivery. I had a C-section and was there for about 2 days. Every nurse we had morning and night shift was very knowledgeable very informative on what they were doing and very attentive to my baby, myself and my husband. And all the other staff doctors nurses everybody who was following my baby's care was very informative followed up on everything I would rate them also being incredible on their services provided. The surgeon and the anesthesiologist and everybody who helped made the surgery go smooth and really quick. Overall I definitely give Lutheran 5 stars and would recommend this hospital to anyone who's about to have a baby. Even the food for being hospital food was actually pretty good.

Waited 4hrs. To leave to swedish, while this elderly couple who was there god know how much longer they waited then us. I understand that you guys are busy and I wouldn't have felt that irritated or disrespected, if your staff didn't spend the whole 4hrs flirting with each other and ignoring patients. Or the fact that I asked this lady at the desk what the wait time is and she replied "I don't know this is an ER!" You can look it up, I found the wait time. While your staff members where being completely dishonest and rude.

Came here for the birth of my first child for a scheduled induction. The nursing team was top notch the moment we entered into the baby unit. Mackenzie in delivery attended to our every need, my million and 1 questions as did Jenna as well, both were absolute gems and treated my partner and baby as if they were family. They made sure she was ok from start to finish and during some scary situations during delivery. Kaci, Sierra, Bonnie and Jessica in the baby unit were also incredible and tended to our nonstop questions, help with baby and health concerns I had and treated us about as good as you can get. I wont forget what they did and how they helped me when baby came. Excellent hospital for our delivery, through and through. I hope the noted nurses above are recognized by management for excellent service and decorum.

I was admitted to the ER for an emergency appendix surgery. The staff was wonderful! From the moment I arrived the ER staff tended to me in such a timely manner, they were kind and I felt truly cared for. The environment feels calm and someplace you can truly heal. Lutheran Medical will hands down be my hospital of choice for me in the future.

Yikes! They didn’t listen to my current medication, I was taking and tried to put me on a medication that reacts poorly with my own. I am inform them my experience with taking the medication they wanted to prescribe with my regular prescription and after thinking, they understood they still sent me home with paperwork. Instructed me to take the medication I cannot have. I was told I could come in and get an updated work notice for my employer in regards to a Worker’s Comp. claim however, when I arrived, there was no notice from my employer, and while being told, I didn’t have to check in suddenly they wouldn’t even discuss my claim without me rechecking disregard anything I was told over the phone.

This is a really really good hospital. Very clean, nurses are VERY good, equipment and facilities are kept up. The overall vibe is VERY good in there, great experience and they took such great care of my wife, which I really deeply appreciate Highly recommend These low rated comments are probably outlier incidents or the reviewers themselves are idiots. This is a 5 star hospital

Worst experience of my life the people here do not care about patients at all I couldn't even get a cup to drink water I had to drink from the faucet. Not that i couldnt medically have water just that no one cared enough to bring me a cup to drink from. Now on top of everything im being forced to pay twice for mistreatmet and Lutheran doesn't care at all about my experience.

My care at Lutheran was five stars. However, your team is only as strong as your weakest player. The hospital incorrectly keyed my health insurance, sent a letter saying to wait for the issue to be resolved before making any payments. I received a correct bill 5 months post service and have left 10+ messages with Financial Assistance, whose voicemail says they’ll call back within 24 hours. They didn’t call back and the hospital sent my bill to collections. I notice the hospital responds to these reviews, please have your financial assistance team contact me.

Such a great hospital. I had a lumbar puncture done here by a Dr. Goldestein and I had the best experience. Checking in was super easy, the doctor and his team were super friendly & professional, and the nurses took really good care of me in recovery after the procedure. They have a really good system and they’re well-staffed, I wasn’t forgotten about or left waiting. I also had no negative side effects after the procedure, I followed their instructions and I’m already back to normal a couple days later. Plus they take medicaid! Thank you guys!!

I brought my dad to the Emergency Department and he was treated quickly and with compassion. Every caregiver and doctor was empathetic and gave excellent care. He was admitted to the hospital where he continued to receive high quality care. Each person treated him with respect and really listened to our questions and were very responsive. Lutheran Medical Center is an exemplary place because of the people who work there! Thank you all.

Avoid the ER. Stay away. They are overwhelmed. I checked into ER at 5pm, got my BP taken, then sat in the packed waiting room for 7 hours before leaving without being seen. Later, a $650 bill for the privilege of sitting in the waiting room showed up, which I am contesting. Insurance won't cover because I didn't get treated. Yeah, I know I didn't get treated. But Lutheran/SCL still sent me a bill. Don't get screwed by these folks - go elsewhere. Maybe you'll actually get treated instead of just billed. I haven't been in an ER since High School but it was a valuable lesson. If you walk into an ER today and it's packed - leave. They'll take your name, etc. and insurance card, then bill you even if you don't get any service. I was told repeatedly by the billing folks "that's how all ERs work". 'Merica.

Dr and staff were great. Really caring and compassionate. Wait was kind of long :(. The treatment rooms had a very open feel to them ( very helpful for a claustrophobic under stress). Also the “mattress” on the treatment bed was far more comfortable that the one at the other nearby hospital The Dr was really on the ball and included me in the decision making process.

I recently had surgery to remove a tumor on my right carotid artery( I’d had a tumor on the left carotid artery removed in Nov. at another hospital) At Lutheran I received Top Notch care from admittance to release. After surgery i spent 11:2 days in ICU. The recovery room was on top of my care. In ICU I had a day shift nurse and a night shift nurse. They Both were Very intune to my needs, care and comfort. I felt confident with my Vascular Surgeon- Dr Rea. He was very informative with myself snd my family. The ICU room I was in was Spotless. I saw janitorial staff cleaning floors and wiping things down. When I was released my nurse was very attentive to how I was feeling. I didn’t feel rushed to get dressed and collect my belongings. My surgery was made SO much less stressful by All the Staff at Lutheran Hospital. I would return for other surgeries and procedures. I would also feel comfortable and confident in Lutheran for family members as well. 👍

Had an amazing experience here! My mom fell and broke her elbow and had to have surgery. From the ER to the surgery to the PCU, everything and everyone was amazing! Huge shout out to the PCU staff on the 5th floor. Arne(the true hero and star of the show!), Kelsey, Gina, Kristen, Adam, and Ryan are truly amazing people and couldn't have made my mom's stay there any better than they did! A truly caring environment.

Our father was admitted to Lutheran Medical Center with multiple medical issues. My sister & I took turns staying overnight w/him. The 6 floor medical staff were really great. We especially want to recognize Alexa, Kacey & Dr. Phil Steininger. Despite our Dad getting a very bad prognosis, we were grateful for the staff’s compassion, professional services & attention given to our family. Without question they went above & beyond to support us. Our sincere thanks, the Matros family.

I was traumatized by nurses while having a mental health crises. Their approach was aggressive with little regard for a gentler approach. I suffered trauma due to my treatment there and now in addition to trying to manage my mental illness, I have to deal with the trauma inflicted on me during my stay on the emergency room.

This place kidnapped my incapacitated, vulnerable, disabled daughter, because I (mom) refused unecessary tests and they held her against her will after lying to family to have them step out of the room....snatched her away from her family, and performed unknown tests and procedures. She was back to stable within a few days and when she could talk again, she begged for family They lied and said they couldn't reach her family and gave fake phone numbers. All the while family was calling daily from all over the country and they lied to all but grandma in FL saying she wasnt there. Abused HIPAA and violated her civil rights. They then attempted to brainwash her into believing her parents were sex trafficking her and when she adamantly told them otherwise, they told her she was wrong and tried to convince her she was in fact being abused and trafficked. Then sent her w neurological issues to the psych ward on a 72 hr hold on a Thursday (wkds dont count) and still lied to family and hid her away. Bled her insurance for an extra week here before releasing her, after traumatizing her all this time for NO reason, other than retaliation and insurance fraud funds for the new hospital. I will be following up with a lawyer!! STAY FAR AWAY!!!!

Was ambulanced to this hospital after a motorcycle accident. Every staff member was super friendly and helpful. Anything I needed to be comfortable, they did. Got me into surgery pretty quickly, and Dr. Mann did a great job there. My recovery will be much faster thanks to the amazing care I received.

This hospital has gone above and beyond to help me. I have EDS, Mast call and POTS which are hard to treat and they did more to help me on both occasions I came then maybe any other hospital I have been at. Dr. Wayman was the most recent doc- 10 out of 10. I can't remember the first doc who helped me the first time I came a few months ago, but she was amazing to. I promise these people listen and truly help.

I had my baby at Lutheran and overall had a good experience. I took off two stars because I didn’t feel like I had support with breastfeeding. I would recommend more lactation support, even in the delivery rooms. My son wouldn’t latch and I ended up having to syringe feed him the entire time. I still have some trauma from this experience and I wish I had more support. The nurses helped but they don’t have the training that an IBCLC has for these situations. I know Lutheran is “baby-friendly” but please add more staff/resources/etc. to strengthen this initiative.

Don't mess around here with anyone who has stroke like symptoms they will call stroke alert and they will have you in the appropriate treatment place and have the best plan for your health and wellness in mind. My mother-in-law was brought to the emergency room last week. She had the best care! The doc was in right away to check her and put in orders. The nurses were all compassionate, listened well and gave great care. The registration clerk took time to answer her questions and clearly explained everything. Great team! Thank you!
