Great local coffee shop! Coffe is good, some small bakery treats also delicious. They sometimes have a single origin which is delicious with the cortado! Only wish things were more consistent (oftentimes out of menu items and service can be very slow). Would recommend to anyone looking for a fun local drip or espresso beverage. My wife loves the iced mocha latte! P.s. outdoor space is fun, but seating can be limited.

Coffee shop has its charm. Wishes they offer baked goods. Anyways service was great. The espresso was really good with its smooth consistency yet potent. Pricing wise it wasn't bad as I paid a little over $3 for the espresso. They offer whole beans for purchase. Just wish they have more to offer here but otherwise not a bad place to get some coffee.

The coffee was good. But the workers attitude was not. We went on a Sunday morning through the back alley, ordered a black coffee, and latte. We received the latte pretty quick, and waited for the black coffee, we waited for a long time, everyone else got their drinks even people who came after us, the girl at the register just kept giving us dirty looks finally I told them we had been waiting for a while and she’s like oh yea that’s my fault but didn’t apologize and just had a bad attitude. We honestly waited for a good 10-15 minutes. The way she treated us was not the way she treated other customers, I even left her a tip. I don’t know if it was because we are Hispanic and everyone else was white but Definitely did not feel comfortable.

On our way out of town, we stopped at this coffee shop and it was just the right spot for us. Unique and cool location, super friendly vibe, and really good coffee! We tried to the cookie dough balls, high five latte, and the chai latte. Very smooth and delicious. So glad we stopped before heading home.

Based on the other reviews when I needed a local coffee shop to meet up with a friend, I told her to meet me here. The weather was chilly, so I understand they didn't have outside seating outside the coffee shop but down the block there was seating available. The menu had a nice variety of choices of drinks, and there were a few bakery options left by the time we got there. I ordered a basic latte, and it tasted really good. I don't drink coffee all the time, but sometimes when I have strong coffee, I don't like the acidic after taste, but this was smooth. Even though the store is in a small space, it was neat to check out the roaster machine they have on display. Everyone was friendly and able to help us decide what order we wanted. I could totally see this as the perfect local hangout. I love supporting small businesses so next time I am in downtown Wheaton I am grabbing my coffee from this place. PS - You do have to access the door from the alley.

A jewel in Wheaton. I had cafe miel , Bold full of flavor with a hint of cinnamon. Carly the barista she was so sweet and a nice soul. She patiently explained me their drinks, because was my first time. They’ve outdoor seating ,between old building was very cozy experience . If you want to tried the sweets go early. They serve the best cold coffees in the area. Please don’t park behind the coffee shop because they will towed your car. There’s plenty of parking in the Main Street.

BEST COFFEE in Wheaton, IL!!! I went to Wheaton to visit family for Thanksgiving, and I was having hard time to get a good coffee (I am Italian so I was looking for a strong espresso-like coffee) until I smelled the delicious smell of roasted coffee beans coming out from Five & Hoek. I felt immediately attracted by this little Hipster coffee place that is like a gem hidden between red-brick buildings. I ordered a Whiskey Vanilla Latte , and then I went back for a Salted Beer Caramel Latte and I almost felt like crying for how good they tasted !!! Absolutely recommend for coffee lovers <3

A place with great quality and options. I had an iced oat milk matcha latte with chai and it was a perfect balance of sweetness. I can tell Five and Hoek has authentic matcha without too much sugar. The service was great and the staff was so kind and understanding.

I would not call myself a coffee drinker. Maybe I’ll have the occasional Starbucks frapecinno or a Bigby Black Forest, but that’s on a rare occasion. When I went to river city roasters for the first time, I said “what’s the harm, coffee of the day no cream no sugar”. Little did I know that that that small risk would change my taste buds forever. Not only has the coffee at Five & Hoeck made me dislike all other coffee, but it has forced me to go there almost everyday since for my daily fix.

I'm not a coffee drinker so I can't say much about their coffee, BUT....they have the best matcha latte I have ever had. It's not gritty, it's super luscious, and it has the perfect amount of sweetness. Perfection!

My husband and I first discovered Five & Hoek in 2020 a few months after we moved to the area, and we've yet to be disappointed with the beverages and service! My current fave drink is the iced vanilla latte, and I can say with full honesty that it is much better than the same drink at Starbucks. There's often a line, but it moves steadily, and I appreciate how the baristas seem more focused on making quality beverages than rushing through every order. It keeps the atmosphere relatively calm, which is also a very welcome difference in comparison to larger coffee chains. If you're looking for a small business with quality products and service, check out Five & Hoek!

Favorite coffee spot in the area. We always stop when we’re in town to visit family. They offer a range of caffeination levels for both served drinks and bags of beans, 100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, and decaf. The most range I’ve ever seen, and super helpful for weening off or back onto caffeine without the shocks. Flavors are solid, specialty drinks are interesting and attractive, and the service is always fast, even when there’s a line.

Roasters and coffee shop. Its really worth to stop here. My favorite coffee place in west suburbs and one of the best in Chicagoland

I rarely order coffee due to busy schedules, except on vacation so I was excited to try something new. The barista gave a few suggestions and I took her up on the Iced Salted Beer Caramel Latte. It was delicious!! I could have drank 2 of them easily!

Cute, quaint, and friendly staff for all your coffee needs. Love the atmosphere- rustic and industrial.

Super excited that this will be my new coffee spot! Staff are all friendly and knowledgeable on all things coffee. Great brews coming out of here.

The coffee is delicious. Really really good. I subscribe families for xmas and birthday gifts. This is my preferred place for taking a coffee on a walk or home. Since the pandemic, the expansive indoor section of the restaurant has become part of a different business.. and f&h can now be found in the alley with no indoor seating. The location is pretty cool except it is next to the dumpsters. This gets pretty rough to sit by during the hot summer months. Super stinky. I wish Wheaton would consider a different solution for those and allow this alley to be filled with customer seating and plants instead but oh well. Not the most kid friendly imo.

Great spot to chill with your friend! There's no indoor seating so I would suggest coming here in the spring and summer. Still fun to come to your round! Been here before both experiences were fantastic! The staff were helpful, kind, and professional. Would definitely come back a third time!

Discovered this place because My Half Of the Sky was closed and I wanted to try something other than Starbucks. Their lattes are good. However, the iced coffee is hit or miss. Some days the iced coffee tastes super sour and isn’t worth the nearly $7 cup or the drive. There is no where to sit except 2 tables outside in the alley so I always order everything to go :)

This back alley coffee house is a perfect early morning grab-n-go or sit outside and relax. They offer coffee drinks, teas and small sweet treats for a quick bit. All the coffee is roasted on site and with multiple rotating roasts and flavors, you'll always have something for your palette.

So first off, the espresso I had was a solid 5/5. But the service was sorely lacking. It was off putting to be frank to the point I'm pretty sure I wouldn't come back unless I was absolutely jonzing for the best espresso I've tasted in recent months. And who knows maybe they were just having an incredibly rough day in which case I'm willing to overlook the terrible service and try again. I'm being generous to give it four stars.

Lots of third wave spots put Cortado on the menu but can’t actually pull shots. This place is special. Dialed in baristas and perfect light roast coffees. They recognize that coffee is a fruit. Great find in an unexpected place.

A grab and go coffee shop! If the weather isn't nice out don't expect to sit because there is no indoor space. The coffee is super high quality and they have unique, homemade syrups for their espresso drinks :)

I’m very disappointed with my experience. It was hard to find a parking spot but we still went out of our way to support this coffee shop. As soon as I walked in the lady that took my order didn’t even bother greeting us, was rude and had an attitude. Second, they got my order wrong and had to remake my drink. I need decaf and trust the workers make it correctly. The people making my drink, which included the lady that took my order, were whispering while making my second drink. I feel like they were talking about my order. To me, this is not how a professional establishment should act. I didn’t end up drinking my coffee because I wasn’t sure my second drink was decaf as the guy making my drink was so distracted chatting. Third, I paid about $8 for close to half cup of coffee?? Save your money and time and go somewhere else.
