DiCarlo's is the master of the Ohio Valley slice. If the idea of "unmelted" cheese seems odd to you, give it a chance! Mounds of super fresh mozzarella-- the cheese closest to the dough will melt a little by default from being on the warm crust. The result is a crispy crust, amazing sauce, and cheese that isn't melted into a greasy pool. It's fantastic.

The Original Dicarlo's Pizza is our family's favorite pizza. Now that they are open at the Highlands its convenient to stop by and grab the a slice. They are always so helpful and quick. I highly recommend for your family dinner.

Disappointing!! Crust crunchy, good, that’s where it ends. Sauce and sprinkled a little cheese. Not the sauce you’d expect for Dicarlos, no taste, scant amount of cheese, sad. Really miss the Original Dicarlos Pizza of years gone by.

Food and service was great! Our favorite pizza! We were from out of town, so wanted to eat in, but the tables had been removed and not returned. We ate on the chairs instead. If they can return the tables, we would give 5 stars. They also have their own parking, which is great for a downtown location.

The locals raved about this spot and I understood why after I tried it. I thought the pizza was simple and fantastic. I’ve probably dicarlos 5-10 times during my stay in Wheeling.

My grandson grew up in the Tri-State area eating DiCarlo's Pizza. He's now an adult who lives in Columbus, Ohio. Last Saturday, He was bringing me back to the Ohio Valley after I had surgery in Columbus, Ohio. Lol/smh imagine-- 3 hours in a car with Nana?!! We had a blast!! He mentioned that he wanted DiCarlo's Pizza. So, as a good Nana, I Googled and called all the local DiCarlo's pizza shops that would be on our path to my house. I love the convenience, that All the addresses AND phone numbers are on Google Maps!!. In our efforts 'not' to cross the Ohio River, I began the Ohio search from Hilliard Ohio, to Wintersville Ohio, with no results!!. I ended up calling WV shops. Fortunately for us, the Wheeling, WV pizza shop was going to be the only one open when we made it back. I waited until we were close and ordered his pizza over the phone. Of course I couldn't eat it, so my grandson insisted on paying for the pizza himself. Although there was a line when we arrived, He walked in and was back out in less than 5 minutes.. The loop we took from Bridgeport-Wheeling-Bridgeport only took us out the way for about 10 minutes- probably less because of fast service and no traffic. My grandson said he purchased an entire tray to take back with him to share with his friends. I believe He ate it himself..and if he did I cannot blame him!!

This pizza crust is never consistent depending on who cooks it. 3 times out of 5 they put pepperoni on it even though we ask for it without. Half the time they barely put any cheese on it so you have to pay for an extra bag

employees were friendly and service was prompt used the online ordering tool and it was easy to get in and out and as always the pizza is unlike any other pizza i have ate anywhere always the best

Over priced compared to other square pizza places, cheese was barely on there as well. Paid almost $25 for $16 slices

We came to share Wheeling's best pizza 🍕 with a new visitor. Dicarlos pizza 🍕 is a must experience taste. The crispy crust is unmatched.

Food was pretty good tried both melted and cold and the melted 7.6, cold 7.1. Crust was crispy, salty and buttery. Sauce was acidic and natural sweet. Cheese was light but tasteful. Pep was just pep. The counter guy could of been a little less gruff. If I am ever back in town I'll go back. I parked up the block and walked down and went behind by the river and ate. Really nice spot.

Here from Barstool and Dave P's review...just from the pictures I question this pizza. I've never seen anyone serve a pizza with unmelted cheese. "Ohio valley style". Adding cheese AFTER the pizza goes through the oven isn't edgey, its a mistake. Hard pass....Response to owner: "Longevity is good for those who watch life from the sidelines. For those that play, its about the quality of the game play."

You used to go in there and get the best pizza you ever ate. Anymore it’s all sauce and barely any cheese. I remember when there were piles of cheese on the slices. The service is also iffy. It’s good, but you can get “Ohio valley” pizza elsewhere for better service and price. The locals that don’t like it call it “cardboard and tomatoes,” and that’s definitely what it’s turning into.

I wish whoever makes the pizza is consistent. Some days I get it and it’s good. Some days bad. You never know what your going to get. I got some yesterday and it was burnt and too much sauce. Out of the seven I received, two of them had no cheese and the other five had very little.

It’s good. It’s DiCarlos. Have some, you’ll probably like it. It’s not the best pizza I’ve ever had but it is definitely a good choice in a pinch

Puzzling. In town for the night staying just up the road; family wanted pizza, this place seemed to have the most reviews. Their pizza is a different style, that's great, but the buck stops there. Told 5-10 min when ordered, so I jumped in the car and was there in less 10. Grabbed the pizza, jumped in the car, grabbed the obligatory dad car piece... cold pizza? 🥶 Sauce. Is that prego? Cheese... would be cool if it were melted. Crust. Pretty sure it was baked yesterday.

This pizza is some of the best in the country. Hands down and I've been all over. Would have got 5 stars but the lady cutting pizza was a drunk driver with the cutter.

Late in the day and I was exhausted. Walked in, ordered, and was out with fresh pizza in less than 10 minutes. Best pizza I had had from here in a long time. Make no mistake, DiCarlos is an acquired taste - thin crust, cheese piled cold on top. These ladies did it right.

Every time I come home to visit family and friends I stop here to get this pizza. It will forever be my favorite and any time a friend comes with me back to WV I always introduce them to this place.

Ordered their delicious pepperoni rolls and a six cut of pizza for my two kids and they said it was great they loved it and the pepperoni rolls were perfectly cool not to hard or not too much like dough they were great and the employees were welcoming and polite and got the order done in a timely manner

First time at a DiCarlos. The uncooked toppings sounds odd, but the pizza tastes great. There is currently no dine in option. All tables and chairs have been removed.

Always that pizza you come back to because it never fails, usually get the lunch special with a drink and it never disappoints. The employees are always friendly and the service is spot on. Usually come once a week for lunch.

Take out only; nice place to eat along the Riverwalk behind the building if the weather co-operates. A really unusual local Pizza, beloved by people here for decades. Square, cheese and pepperoni only. No options; that's what it is. Use a very specific tomato sauce, a twice baking process, and a really novel blend of mozzarella and provolone added after the first bake. Ya gotta try it. Inexpensive. NOTE: the cheese is supposed to be cold when it comes to you. They add it when the pizza comes OUT of the oven,

Building is run down. pizza was okay. Took forever to get our food done. Employees were super friendly and very helpful.

Simply delicious pizza! The crust is wonderfully crispy and the tomato sauce is legit flavorful. Edge pieces are better. 16 pieces in a tray. A pepperoni pizza comes with only 2 pieces of pepp per piece but by the time you notice it you also probably won’t care because the pizza is just delicious. Reminds me of a Detroit style pan pizza...but square and slightly less thick.
