This is my first bad review, and it honestly deserves it. My wife and I come regularly, since fall of 2021, pretty much weekly. To the point most servers know we do not need a menu. We placed our order with a server we haven't met (keep in mind they have a high turnover) and it was over 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive by an alternate server, though the restaurant was 1/4 capacity. Once the drinks arrived, we waited a further 20 minutes for the wings to arrive by a different server. We were missing the vegetables, dip, napkins, side plates, cutlery... and the food was stone cold.... It was clearly forgotten about and left under the warming lights what would seem like an eternity. Again, waited 15 minutes to see if the server would show her face, but didn't. Our server then showed up a few minutes later, where we asked for our cutlery and missing items, and she said she would come right back with them. (She didn't show up again until giving me the bill). I went to the bar and asked for a manager to discuss the cold food, lack of attention and all the missing items associated with eating.... Unfortunately, he wasn't receptive at all, all he said is he would remake our food and left, (didn't ask if we wanted drinks, or any apology). We waited a further 15 minutes to receive the same food back that was reheated in the oven. TOTALLY overcooked, dried out gross wings. Again, missing the vegetables, side plates, or anything to eat the food with. after a further 5 minutes, our server appeared and presented the missing vegetables, and we requested another round of drinks. The drinks, they never showed, I told the bartender after waiting 10 minutes to cancel the drinks because at that point we just wanted to leave. We never did see our server, we had to flag another down just to request the bill. Food was comped, and rightfully so.. Waited a further 10 minutes to pay the balance of the 2 drinks and left. Management or the server did not care one bit. Majority of the staff just congregated at the bar to chat between themselves. (1:45minutes to get cold and over cooked wings and 2 drinks is horrendous, given the place was only 1/4 capacity and at least 7-8 people working the floor). Its a shame as we really loved our past experiences there, however the service has made a rapid decline, and some certainly neglect the customers or even provide a sub standard experience. After 30+ visits, we wont come back, or make any more recommendations to friends based on our past few visits over the past 2 months. The management certainly doesn't care about the customers, that was evident, or the reputation of the business. Shame as it has potential. Food was always great (when served when it should have been), its the service (or lack there of) that ruins the enjoyment of going out to dine.

I ordered Uber Eats from here, got the buffalo chicken wrap, crab cakes and the buffalo chicken flat bread. All the food was good and tasty. It arrived warm. The chicken wrap came with a nice portion of fries. You get 3 crab cakes. And the flatbread was a nice size as well. I would recommend this restaurant, the pricing is fair and the portions are good.

This was one of the worst dinning experiences I've ever had. My gf and I came out for dinner to celebrate a successfully event I had earlier in the day. It started off on a bad note the second we got in the door, with how long it took us to even have a server come to our table. She eventually showed up after about 10 minutes and though her service was pleasant, she was not very attentive and we went long stretches of time without being checked on or having our drinks refilled or food quality checked, despite the floor being relatively empty. It happens, but still frustrating. Things got worse when at a point, some DJ, who must have been part of the make a wish program for he surely can't have been getting paid, considering how god awful his music selection was, how obnoxiously loud the music was and the fact that he felt the need to continuously interrupt whatever song he was playing in order to should something indistinguishable into the mic or use the same cheap effect over and over. Very obnoxious. The icing on the cake, that resulted in us leaving without finishing our meals was when the lights were turned off, despite no one being on the dance floor making it virtually impossible to see the food on my plate or my partner sitting across the table from me 3 feet away. I had to eventually go to the bar and tell the bartender that we were going to leave and wanted our bill and takeout containers as after looking everywhere else saw no trace of our server who had dropped off our food and never reappeared. I'd like to say that I haven't had similar experiences at the Brooklin location, but that wouldn't be true. As a former regular patron I was surprised to see how drastically downhill the service and management at this establishment had gone and warn future guests to rethink giving Whisky John's their patronage if you value your money, time, eardrums or good service.

Amazing menu selection with tons of options. The food never disappoints. The worst part about Whisky John's is how long it takes to decide on just one meal.

Food was good and staff was great. The service overall was maybe a bit slow so wouldn't go here if you're in a hurry but the staff was very kind and did a great job. The music playing on the patio was really loud at times. Overall good experience

We try a different location easy to access Plenty of parking Once we came into the doors we were greeted and asked if we would like to have a seed up at the bar of the patio or any of the tables. Place was considerably clean really nice inside music without a right audible sound. Are waitress OST if we would like something to drink the menu is Big when it comes to alcoholic beverages and there is a lot of non-alcohol beverages choices to when we chose to do some classic style drinks that's right classic style drinks We were offered our menus menu is huge so many things to choose from I tried a lobster with Chuck Burger amazing I didn't think the combination would work but it's great all my toppings on there were fresh nothing will to do was amazing fun with beautiful the beef with perfect I chose it with some onion rings onion rings were cooked perfectly and not greasy. My wife had a steak penne with a mushroom peppercorn sauce with goat cheese I got to try a bit of it and I have to say they nailed it well. Our waitress and staff were amazing polite professional couldn't ask for anything more looking for many good returns when going back. So you want to place where you can have a beverage and a great meal this is a spot

I ordered steak with baked potato and button mushrooms. Didn't order but came with broccoli carrots and asparagus. So good. The waitress forgot to bring bitter and salt and pepper. I also bought a ceasar that was absolutely amazing. It all really hit the spot

We had a large group for a birthday party, the staff were incredibly wonderful when it came to it. As soon as I entered the pub the staff helped set up decorations, moved tables to suit our needs and we're quick to help with anything I needed. On top of that their serving abilities were wonderful, with no complaints. Carolyn and Samantha were a true blessing to have there to help ensure our night ran as smoothly as possible! Super appreciated! The Dj could use some work. The music was pretty awfully put together, playing two tracks of the same artist back to back.

They had bartenders in training they could not make a old-fashioned a buddy had to go in an show them how the bar didn't even have simple syrup... had to use a bit of jack Daniel's honey as a substitute.. the server was awesome and very kind.

Excellent restaurant. Went with a group of friends to try their wing special. Buy any drink and get up to 4lbs for $5.50 each. It was a great deal. Wings were really good and substantial. The service was very helpful and the space was clean. They also have a decent pool table for $2/game and many TVs for sports. All in all, a great experience and I'll definitely be back -- maybe even next week 😂.

I paid a visit to whiskys johns last night. The service was horrible. The new bartender treated me very badly and it appeared to be she was completely drunk. Another patron told me he had been sneaking her drinks all night and that she is driving herself home. I was very close to calling the cops and a part of me still feels terrible I didn’t. She is putting innocent people at risk on the roads. I’m hoping nothing happened. I will be calling management and the liquor board at the first available chance. On top of that, the service was terribly slow and my order was completely incorrect. I could not wait to pay my bill and get the hell out of there !!! Bring the old bartenders back!!!

If you don’t want waitresses flirting with your boyfriend don’t go here…I’ve been here a couple of times. Never a really great experience. The servers that I have dealt with have never been very friendly and almost always wether it’s my server or a completely different female staff worker, somebody goes out of their way to hit on my boyfriend ( who is very obviously with me) not only am I being disrespected my boyfriend is being made uncomfortable when we are just there to have a couple of drinks together. Even when we ordered uber for pick up he was hit on by staff. Not to mention the food we have had wasn’t very good and the general vibe here isn’t great

The waitress was very good, especially considering our large group with individual tabs. The food was just okay; the creamy Cajun pasta sauce wasn't very Cajun, creamy, or plentiful and the meat was lacking. Pasta was plentiful. Not great value considering this is pub food.

Had a lovely time with a dear friend of mine who was treating me to a couple of birthday drinks. Our server, Sarah, was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Her recommendation was outside of my normal (The Blue Lagoon) but I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't too sweet, almost sport-drink like in how refreshing it was and I am very glad that I took her recommendation. If you ever find yourself there, and don't quite know what you want, ask for Sarah, and she'll sort you out quite well!

My sister and I decided to dine here based on a recommendation from a Co worker and it was the best decision that we had made that day. It was Thursday half priced wings. The wings were big and very tasty. My sister has alot of restrictions to her diet and our waitress Stacey made sure that my sister was taken care of with no questions asked. Thanks again Stacey we fully recommend Whisky John's to everyone.

The food was amazing but the service was absolutely terrible. Waited 15 mins before greeted at front door for a seat. Waited another 20 mins for someone to come take our order. Once we got the food and finished, waited almost another 20 minutes to get our bill (wasn’t even busy). The waitresses should spend less time taking shots and flirting with the tables up near the bar & make sure they pay more attention to the rest of the tables.

We've been going to this establishment for years! Different owners have taken over at one time or another.. waitress was rude after I told her my wings sauce is incorrect,the only thing I ever order on Tue and Thur and she's trying to tell me I'm wrong! I told her again,I know tequila lime sauce it's all I ask for and this is not...she hesitantly took it back and in seconds a different waitress came back and gave me wings she supposedly returned,not! And! This waitress is trying to scold me telling me, just so you know this is tequila lime you had ordered and the first waitress was not wrong! I give lots of tops.. where's Paula! You guys need to teach/ train the ladies especially on how customers are usually always right... since 2008 been going to whiskey John's when it was on the corner of King and Stevenson, never have I had such a horrible experience as I did that night! Takes only 1 bad experience to tell all your friends and family not to go there! Waitress mingle a little too much with the guys at the bar, not paying attention to other patrons.

The food was amazing, soooo goood, i had the supreme burger and damn it was good. I have ordered from there before and had your fish tacos and they are awesome. Some of the best i have ever had. You have good wings and very good potatoe skins...two big thumbs up,would recommend this to anyone. Your fries are the best too. Cheers and thanks for filling my belly today....even have leftovers. Was looking for live music in Oshawa. I arrived at 11PM. When I opened the door, I was surprised with the light. It was fully illuminated! True to the write up, this place has HDTVs all around the facility. The bar tender came to our table, and was fashionable, polite, courteous, attractive with big smiles, full of glee, and attentive to her surroundings. Despite a bar full of patrons, she made us sense our value as a patron. We received our orders very timely. And everyone at the bar was being satisfied simultaneously. She was an excellent hostess. As long as we were attending, we were being served and given fine attention. I inquired about the live music, and it is Thursnight, Frinight, Saturnight… We got a house mix, on Tuesnight/Monmorn. Monitored by, you guessed it, our amazingly talented bar tender! There's a pool table, and a stage for live bands/DJ. The restrooms were tidy, and the speaker sounded better than out on the floor. 🤗 Decent stocked bar too. And maybe more than a half a dozen beers on tap. It's not a pretentious atmosphere. It felt like it could have been the home of a TV sitcom. 🎱 Cheers 🥃

Good meal and affordable price. Good portions too. It reminded me of one eyed jack. But I am putting a 4 instead of 5 because the bottom of my ribs were slightly burned.

I’ve never left a review on a restaurant before, but I just had to for this one! Although I’ve only ordered the Frutti Di Mare twice now through Uber Eats, I have been extremely satisfied with the quality and quantity. Each time I’ve put special instructions regarding which seafood I’d like to leave out and asked for a bit extra of the others. Both times, I was given an insanely generous amount of seafood that was all cooked to perfection in the delicious sauce and cheese. Hands down the best seafood pasta I’ve ever had, and for a great price! If i could hug the chef, I would LOL

Wanted to say a big thank you to Ashley, for her assistance and customer service tonight. I couldn’t find the amazing cheese cake on the Uber eats menu, so I placed my order and called in to inquire if I could order this item over the phone. Ashley assisted me with the steps and made sure I got the cheese cake!! Thank you for your patience and customer service.

Had a great time here tonight, our hostess Sabrina and our waiter Sam were both fantastic with their service and the food was great. Will definitely be coming back sometime soon.

Love coming here on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 1/2 price wings. Many other tasty foods on the menu and you can always see what sports are playing on the many TVs. Reasonable prices too. This location also has a coin-op pool table.

My son had a rough week in the school yard. He needed a Shirley Temple with extra Shirley. Bar tender went above and beyond for us it was an excellent experience !!! we will definitely be back. Thank you sooooo much

I loved the food and the service was great and the service I love. Though, it was her first day she was really helpful and great. Definitely going back and found my new spot.

You would think they would compensate for the missing bathroom stall doors and filthy run down atmosphere with some Friendly service. But no. The male server/manager who was serving us couldn’t be less interested. Like we were bothering him by our mere presence. Did not break a smile once, refused separate bills on a fairly simple tab, and overall quite unpleasant. No wonder why this place is always empty.

Ordered only delivery a few times and everytime the food was less than desirable. Fries taste like days old and I always had to pick out the rock hard stale ones. Unfortunate as I used to enjoy this place.

This was my first visit with a large group for a Christmas party. The waitresses were very friendly and accommodating. The food was good. It had different sports playing on the TVs. They had music playing until the Leafs game started and then they played the game commentary. It was a friendly atmosphere overall. The washrooms were nice and they had some historical artifacts on the walls. I would certainly go there again!

Took the kids in on a Sunday for a quick lunch and got Ashley as our server. She was incredible with my 5 and 7 year old and extremely friendly and sociable. By far the best service I have ever had at a restaurant. Thank you Ashley at whisky johns.

Hollow mozzarella sticks, decent wings and delivery issues. I normally don't write reviews for food places but I have a lot to say about this place. Their wings are decent, they used to be my favourite though recently the wings were small. I always order delivery and my mozzarella sticks literally had no cheese inside, I'm not joking...really upsetting when you spend so much to get food delivered just to go to waste. Had to order again somewhere else. Also had multiple issues trying to get my food to me, my skip/uber drivers would put "delivered" and multiple times there was nothing outside. So I don't know what that's about but I normally don't have that issue with other places so it must be a restaurant issue.

We came here to meet a friend for her birthday. (Friday night, which happened to have a live band at 9:00). Our party (of seven) wasn't planning on staying for the band, but just to say hi to our friend. We arrived around 7:00p.m. and ordered our food and drinks. The manager asked us around 8:00 if we wanted to stay for the band and if we were, we had to pay a $10 cover charge per person. We told him we weren't staying, but also let him know how offended we were that he would ask us to fork out $70 just to stay for the band (while there was still a substantial amount of food on the table). After he walked away, the coward then had the audacity to then send a waitress over, telling us we had 15 minutes to finish our meal and leave since we weren't paying the cover charge. (She was actually super nice and understanding). We were "permitted" to stay by the manager until we were finished. As intended, we said hi to our friend and left at around 9:15. Word to the wise, asking customers for an additional $10 so they can continue to dine past 9:00 (regardless of a live band) when you can clearly see our table will have a total bill of around $275, is not good customer service.

We went here with a very large party, no reservation on a Sunday afternoon for lunch... The service was excellent as was the food. Generous portions and a huge menu. Our waitress was very courteous. I would definitely eat here again.
