My son took us here for breakfast. Wonderful! This tiny place in Wichita has some big flavor. I had the Country Benedict, which was great. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the sauce was amazing. They have an open bar and make stupendous Bloody Mary's. Don't have much time to write. If you are in Wichita Kansas and want a great breakfast, I recomwnd Magnolias.

Everything at Magnolia Cafe is made from scratch daily using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible and the Pork Belly hash puts that dedication on display. Wow what a great dish! The pork belly was cooked perfectly, seasoned well, melt in your mouth tender. The sweet potatoes, peppers and onions was a perfect marriage of hash bliss, complimented by the creamed greens. The egg, also perfectly cooked, had the runny yolk you're looking for and was a delicious delight to dip in. Putting this dish over the top was that chow chow, delivering that little bit of tart crunch, balancing out the pork fat. As I like to say, "It's Another Dose of YUM!"

Honestly I want you to know that I'm from the south Eastern part of these United States. That makes me partial and biased for certain dishes on the menu. Let's begin with the shrimp and grits. This dish originated from the Gullah people in South Carolina / Savannah Georgia area. Over time is become popular and now viral sorts to say. This had to be the most disappointing shrimp and grits I've ever had. It was a small serving, the grits were stone ground (which means there wil be kernel shards with a firm texture if not cooked long enough to soften), and nothing brought the dish together....gravy. The shrimp was excellent though. Needless to say, I could not finish this entree so I happily tried another. Eggs Pontchartrain! This was seasoned very well. One poached egg was correct and the other was hard boiled. You read that correctly. Thankfully the oyster was fried hard because the bread was soggy and not toasted. Speaking of frying, let's discuss the chicken and waffles. The waffles were done really well. So well in fact that it's absorbed the syrup you would put on top. The batter for the fried chicken was crunchy and flavorful. The protein however had no flavor. The chicken needs to be seasoned. Would I go back? Yes. We were seated immediately, our waitress was attentive, the bathroom is clean, and the food was nice and hot when it came to our table. The manager was open to what we had to say. It's clear the effort is there it just needs to be tweaked. Oh, I almost forgot, we opened up with the biscuits and I swear to you they taste super similar to Pillsbury Grand biscuits. It had a very processed flavor. Not pillowy soft like a homemade biscuit should be.

I don't know how we missed this spot, but we'll definitely be returning! Kathryn was our server and made our interactions pleasant. The atmosphere had country music playing just loud enough you could hear it if there was a pause in the conversation but not so loud that you couldn't converse. It's super fresh, bright, and clean inside too - which added to the welcoming atmosphere. I selected the bananas foster with a side of eggs over medium. My partner selected the shrimp and grits along with a bloody mary. Service was quick. The food was hot and very flavorful. Checks can be paid contactless (QR code), which is an added bonus.

Service was wonderful! We started out with the cornbread. Warm, fluffy and delicious! We ordered the Voodoo pasta and the Shrimp n Grits. Both were very tasty! We especially loved the Voodoo pasta! The Alfredo sauce on that dish was phenomenal!

Dined here for brunch on a Wednesday, and there were only a few other tables occupied. The service was quick, efficient, and attentive. The Bloody Mary housemaster mix was delicious and I enjoyed the bacon and other toppings. Pictured is the Bloody Mary, the Biscuits and Gravy Entree, and the Eggs Ledoux! The food was yummy, and good portion sizes as well-I took half my meal home! Only critique I have, is there was too much sauce on my eggs benny-BUT the sauce was yummy so I was not upset.

Tried this breakfast place on a Sunday morning and there wasn’t a long wait at all. The portions are on the smaller side. I had the pork belly hash and was surprised how small it was. I was still hungry after quickly finishing it. It was on the smaller side and a bit too salty for my taste. I had to eat off my friends plate to pass the time. The menu is not labeled with gluten sensitivities so our waiter showed us the limited selection. I suspect there was some cross contamination with gluten (as I am having symptoms) so I don’t think this would be a good option for people with food sensitivities. Overall, my experience was underwhelming. I hope to try again in the future, but will give them some time before returning.

Checked out this new Southern-inspired brunch place on a Saturday around 9am. It wasn't busy and we were seated immediately. The place was warm and welcoming, you tell that they've put a lot of thought into decor. I ordered an iced coffee with cream and simple syrup to start and was pleasantly surprised to find a staff member using a cocktail shaker to mix it. It was a delicious start to an even more delicious meal. We ordered the Bananas Foster Pan Perdu for the table, I ordered Eggs Pontchartrain, my sister ordered the Chicken & Waffles and my brother ordered the Grillades & Grits. The Pan Perdu was delicious but more French Toast than Pan Perdu. The Eggs Ponchartrain were amazing. There were about 6 fried oysters on my plate and the Tasso hollandaise was savory and tangy. One of my eggs was hard-boiled but the dish is something I'll definitely come back for. My sister loved the Chicken and Waffles, she said it was some of the best fried chicken she's had, crispy on the outside and so juicy on the inside. My brother liked the Grillades & Grits but thought that the dish needed more flavor, more butter and cheese in the grits and salt overall. We really enjoyed our meal here and left happy and very full. I highly recommend checking this place out for their unique, Southern take on brunch. It's such a nice addition to the American- style breakfast classics in Wichita.

Food had a lot of flavor and good portion sizes. Latte was decent. My mom enjoyed her coffee and fried oysters and eggs. I ordered (pictured) the Corned beef hash with potatoes. I could only finish about half of it. I immensely enjoyed the food here. I wish the service after we ate (getting our check) was faster, but the before and during service was great. We will definitely be back.

We had the best brunch today at Magnolia Cafe! I can’t believe we have not eaten here before now! The food was fresh, unique, delicious and flavor profiles were on-point! We had cocktails, an appetizer, brunch entrees, dessert and everything was PERFECT! If you want amazing service - sit at the bar and Lauren will take care of you! She is delightful and committed to great customer service. This will definitely be on the list of our regular restaurant spots!

This place had a nice atmosphere. It was not busy at the time we went. They had $5 happy hour drink specials. The food came out fast. The crab cake was delicious with the sauce. The food could have had a little more seasoning, but that's just me.

The bloody Mary and fried green tomatoes were good. I love the atmosphere inside. It was too humid to sit outside. Unfortunately, we were not impressed with the food we ordered. The Countrt Benedict with potatoes was ok. I was expecting more seasonings and spices with it being southern inspired food. But, there just didn't seem to much. My husband had the spicy chicken sandwich and fries, of which he said the same. I'm sure we'll try them again sometime hopefully with a better experience.

Magnolia Cafe is one of the highest quality restaurants in Wichita!! I'm no expert on Cajun cuisine, but every time I come here I am never disappointed. Not pictured is the gumbo that I devoured the second it was placed in front of me, lol. Do not sleep on this place because of the location! It is cozy and homey inside and the food is always fresh, hot, and made with attention to detail and care. The staff is kind and it is obvious this is a small business because they say thank you and show gratitude for your patronage. 10/10

My husband and I tried Magnolia cafe on a Saturday morning. We were seated right away and thought the atmosphere was cute and cozy. I ordered the standard breakfast and Brad ordered the biscuits and gravy. Overall the food was good. Brad enjoyed his B&G, but my Yukon potatoes tasted old so I didn’t eat them. The server wasn’t as attentive as we would have liked, as we had to wait and ask for a refill on our coffees. Otherwise, no big issues and we will be back!

We came for brunch. The food here is excellent! We had fried deviled eggs as an appetizer which was unique and delicious. Everything from presentation to what's actually served is done with elegance and excellence as the intent. This is a fabulous find and we will definitely be back!

Fantastic food, service, and atmosphere! We ordered our eggs cooked over medium. Eggs were cooked to perfection! Bacon is cooked just right! Management was in site making sure customers were happy. Things were ran smoothly. We will definitely be coming back! Side note: when they say you can substitute pancakes for toast, you are charged $4.

9/16/23 ☆☆☆ First time here, I wasn't really impressed. I will say that the presentation of everything was beautiful. Just wish it tasted as good as it looked. For what I spent, I expected better. The bloody mary ($12) was so weak that I couldn't taste the vodka over all the lime juice. The rim of the glass was coated in Tajine, which is ok, but again adds even more lime. They put a skewer withnan olive, a picke slice, and a piece of okra. Then a strip of bacon in it, which would have been great except it's overly sweet and had solidified grease on it..yuck. I got the fried green tomatos which were very good but had way too much sweet onion on it it over powered it, and the Voodoo Pasta ($17) with the added shrimp ($5 extra so $22 total) wich in my opinion wasn't great. The pasta didn't have much flavor. Voodoo pasta is typically spicy. This was so bland that even adding pepper didn't help. I literally picked out the five little pieces of chicken, 5 slices of sausage, and the 5 pieces of shrimp... and left the rest. For a $56.00 (that includes a $9.00 tip) meal, I doubt I'll do that again. My friend got the BLT and said it was really good. Our server was very personable and attentive. We sat on the patio, it was very nice and not as crowded as inside.
