Perfect! Came in for our 15 year wedding anniversary... and like usual... everything was perfect. Went on a Sunday evening right before the dinner rush, no wait. Danielle our server was absolutely a gem. Food and drinks were perfection! Vibe was mostly quiet and chill. We've made Abuelo's a regular for when we're craving Mexican cuisine. Love this place.

Wow incredible experience once again! This is my second time here. Definitely by far the best Mexican restaurant in the Midwest and I eat a lot of Mexican food and travel throughout the USA. Best Mexican food of the 12 states I’ve been thru this season. See posted photos. Food so delicious you can’t stop eating and every bite is savored. Also —- I must comment that the customer service was also the best I have experienced in probably a year of any food service. I ordered take out and the moment I got to the bar, 2 people came up to me (one the first 10 seconds and the second one 10 seconds later) to check on the food. The bartender (evening shift) she was also amazing. Thanks and looking forward to coming back many many times!

I had a chile relleno and enchilada with rice and beans. Very good. Not spicy at all, but flavorful and delicious just the same.

Okay this has got to be an oversight. I ordered the chicken quesadilla and what I got was an abomination. First of all, based on the pictures you can clearly see that this " quesadilla" was basically a tortilla with chicken and another tortilla on top with melted cheese. What?!? this is NOT a quesadilla folks. The cheese goes INSIDE not on top. Also a proper quesadilla should not be able to be peeled apart, nor should you be able to pick it up without it completely falling apart. I don't know what to call it but it ain't that. I received a separate container with all the accoutrements like sour cream and whatnot, but from a "high end" Mexican establishment this is completely insane. This rating is solely for the quesadilla as the rest of my order was just fine. Goodness...please someone tell me this is a one-off experience.

Good amount of food for the price. The service was amazing and the atmosphere was nice. Hubby and I both got the meal pictured, it was $22.00, well worth it, we both brought leftovers home.

This place was like the Mexican food version of Applebee's. The atmosphere was very nice. The wait staff was very polite and everything was very clean. But the food was mediocre at best. I ordered the bacon wrapped pork loin and it was way overcooked. Nothing was inedible but nothing was impressive either. They do a great job with presentation though, for example you get three different kinds of salsa for your chips. Unfortunately they all taste like a variation of picante. Not very authentic or homemade. I'm not mad about having eaten here, but if I'm going to spend $20 a plate I would pick somewhere different next time.

My husband and I split the chicken dish with the corn sauce in it. It was beyond delicious, plenty for 2, and we had cilantro rice and charro beans that came with it. The 3 salsas that came with the chips was delicious too. And, if that wasn't enough we had flan which I think tasted like creme caramel. Outstanding! Waiter was awesome and very attentive and beautiful restaurant!

I never knew about Abuelo's until I started to work there. they make everything from scratch from early in the morning all day long ..prepping for the next day .everything is freshly cooked ..cut.. mixed.. nothing is Frozen. the smells in the kitchen are divine.. the food is hot.. smoking and comforting.. warm to the bellies. the people there strive to make the customers feel welcomed and satisfied but mostly like family. everybody seems to leave on a happy note and a to-go box because they are offered so much food on their plate that it's too much to finish. My coworkers.. my bosses are super great people.. they're very caring and everybody is always laughing and smiling

Wow, food and service were on point. Australian Sea bass Fire-grilled, seasoned Barramundi with Guerrero sauce which is cream sherry sauce, shrimp, spinach, mushrooms, roasted red peppers, green peppers and sliced avocados.

Food was terrific, but above that, the staff that served our table, Brandon, was above and beyond. We were treated like royalty, and that is no exaggeration. So pleasant. So attentive to our table. He was literally the best staff we have ever experienced. His level of service is what makes the monumental difference in the customer experience. Brandon, I hope you see this and we So much thank you. If you are Brandon's manager, please treat him with the upmost regard as he is your most valuable asset ! Thanks so much, Brandon !

A bit on the expensive side of mexican restaurants, but the food is great, and the atmosphere is authentic. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars, is because the food didn't really seem worth the expensive price. It was delicious, but not necessarily worth what we paid. Overall, I would go here again, but not very often due to price.

Beautiful location, and fantastic service. I think the chips were my favorite part of the meal, but everything else kind of tasted like it was from Costco. Not saying it's from Costco, but it very much so felt like a chain. Good option for picky eaters, but I probably won't be coming back.

Such a pretty place! The inside is very open and nice. The servers always do a great job. Very well trained. I love the mild salsa. It is smokey and had a chipotle pepper flavor to it. The spicy cheese dip is not very spicy but it is delicious. I loved my fried smothered burrito. My husband loved his food.

My wife and I frequent your restaurant sometimes 2 to 4 times a month. We at there last night and I ordered the steak fajitas. They were like chewing bits of rubber and had very little flavoring. Your prices have increased so much that a could have gone to any grocery store and for the price of one order of fajita I could have had a pound of filled minion. Beans ,rice and potatoes are relatively cheap and I can no longer afford your prices especially when it is touch as shoe leather.

After our poor dining experience here in December, we waited before visiting again. We were very pleased to have a great dining experience this past Friday night. We were a table of three, seated around 5:30, and our entire meal was a delight. Service was attentive, without being too intrusive. Food was all hot and delicious. Entire service team was a pleasure to be around!

Fabulous food, service and environment. Durango burrito, enchiladas, rice and beans all very good. We loved the house margaritas - the watermelon margaritas were not as good. Very relaxing and enjoyable experience! And our thanks to Angel - our amazing service person - he made a good experience an AMAZING experience! We will be back.

Since the one in KC closed, we have to wait until we go to Wichita, which has only been about 5 times in my life.... The last 2 times was specifically to eat at Abuelo's. Yes, we like it enough to drive an hour just to eat there. My wife and I have not had anything bad there, and their salsa choices are excellent. The fire roasted and green salsa's are the cats pj's.

I absolutely LOVE the food and you really get a good quantity for the price. However, I have to mark this a 3 🌟 only because of the waitress we had. Unfortunately I don't know her name but she almost spilled salsa everywhere because she slammed down the bowl, she didn't check on us and we were out of drinks, she just seemed stressed. I still gave a tip because I know from experience that waitresses live mainly off of tips but she definitely did NOT deserve one.

Amazing food! Layers of flavor found here! Super friendly staff! Andrew has the best smile and Layla has a great sense of humor! If I lived here, this would easily become a favorite place to visit. Definitely recommend!!!

The food was SO good. I had the Grande Burrito with con Carne sauce. It was so huge, I have plenty left over for dinner tonight! There was a little hiccup when my bf ordered steak nachos and got ground beef instead. But they made it right, and he had plenty of food and he said it was good as well. The service was great, our server was Riley and she was very friendly and cheerful! We enjoyed our meal. The atmosphere is great and the people very friendly.
