China Inn has a friendly atmosphere with quick service and great tasting Chinese food. Kung Pao is pretty good, as is the Egg Drop Soup. This restaurant is well lit, with windows providing plenty of natural sunlight. Finally, the restrooms are well maintained and parking is easy (around the front of the building). Take your friends/family here and give it a try, the next time you want great Chinese!

Cold food. Outside of rice and eggrolls was hot, inside was luke warm. Basically you could tell the rice and egg rolls are sitting in a low heated environment for long periods. My chop suey was not good- look at it. A pile of mush. Fried rice looked great, but with no flavor and oddly smells like nothing. Order total was 19, which doesn't match online menu prices. Will not return. I'm guessing this is another example of people rating a chinese place well because they like battered chicken covered in sauce. The 'fresh' dishes and noodle dishes are horrible.

We enjoyed a Girls' Day Out yesterday and the food was wonderful; generous portions; good service; our waitress was so pleasant and helpful; the place was clean and very pretty. Will definitely be going back.

Really good, quality food! I like to keep it simple & go with the sweet & sour chicken! It's nice that it's not overly salty like so many other places! It's a little pricy but worth it- the servings are huge & easily 2 meals.

I've been coming here for years. I am so disappointed. The sweet and sour was like flavored water. The rice tasted old. The crab Rangoon were still good. It just wasn't good food. At all. I told my waitress, but nothing was done. Sadly, I'm not sure we will go back and this used to be one of my favorite restaurants.

Exceptionally disappointed. Myself, as well as my extended family (and many friends that I have recommended this establishment to) have been regular patrons of China Inn for YEARS (I'm talkin' WAAAAAY BACK... since Judy was in a different location, further east on Central, when it was called Cathay Gourmet, and when she took over the old Aloha Restaurant on Rock Rd. & E. Kellogg). We're talking for 36+ years! One of the special things that set China Inn apart from its peers was their FRESH and FLAVORFUL entrées and their homemade egg rolls and pan-fried dumplings. We're talking melt-in-your-mouth deliciousness! Well, imagine my dismay when I stopped in recently, and quickly discovered that the "magic" of China Inn had suddenly vanished! Its magnificent egg rolls and scrumptious pan-fried dumplings had been inexplicably replaced with imposters - frozen/then microwaved - dupes! I asked our server if this was true, and she confirmed that they were no longer preparing these in-house ~ they had indeed been replaced with the frozen variety. (?!?) Most notably, it saddens me to see so few restaurants (that are not chains!) available in Wichita, some of which have been around for decades, either have to shudder their doors permanently... or the quality has plummeted; meanwhile, the prices have increased. The ambiance of China Inn is lovely, the staff is always friendly & courteous, and I will always have a soft spot for Judy (I've known her since I was a kid... I'm now almost 47). However, until they are willing to bring back the "China Inn Magic", I fear that I will no longer be able to provide my patronage nor will I be able to continue to recommend them to others. It's sad.

I've literally been going here since I was a child. Best Chinese food in Wichita. If I could give it a 10/10 stars, I would.

I grew up on Albert's. Then later Yen Ching. Both were heart breaking when they closed. My wife and my parents try to get out to dinner together at least once a month. And every time we say we're gonna try something new. Every time we end up back here. A few dishes we have had could be better but once you find the few to share that everyone loves. It's perfection! There are definitely amazing entrees for everyone's taste. Amd thry have the best egg rolls to start. And always ask for some hot oil on the side if you like the heat!

Finally stopped in. Had some sweet and sour chicken and egg flower soup. The chicken was really good quality. I liked the flavor and texture in both the fried chickens and the soup. Had a bit of my friends orange beef. I might get the orange chicken next time. It was spicy but in the flavor of spicy I like. Service was excellent. Food was incredible. And the atmosphere was great for a dining experience. The portions were worthy. I truly full. And I'll be truly full again after lunch tomorrow. Oh. I will be back.

Food was delicious I got the Kung pao chicken delight, it was packed with meat and it came with hot and sour soup which was very hearty.

Delicious food. Amazing service. Romantic, affordable dinner by candle light. Love! Crab Rangoon was phenomenal! The duck sauce was so good!

Food was mehh, was the first time I'd ever had chicken and carrots in egg drop soup. The sauce on my entrée was super sweet and it shouldn't have been. The egg roll was over cooked and cold. Probably won't be returning or recommending. There weren't but a few people seated and the music was louder than it should be for dining.

Excellent. Wow, the serving size, way too much for one person to eat.. lol. The orange Chicken was Delicious. Polite welcoming staff.

A wonderful local Chinese restaurant. I have been eating here for special occasions for a long time now. The food is always great, and the staff are very friendly. If you live nearby and haven't eaten here yet (and you enjoy Chinese food), you're missing out!

I'm glad they opened a Chinese restaurant in the area where I tend to be in when in town. Nice price for a nice menu for lunch!

My family and I dine here regularly. We do take out and dine in. I have never been disappointed one time in any of the dishes I have tried. My take out has never been cold. The wait staff has always been utterly amazing. I am limited in my mobility and they have often carried my order to my vehicle for me and made sure I was safe. In my opinion hands down some of the best food in town, not just oriental food!

Poorly made dish, no attention to detail.. ordered beef and broccoli whoch had a horrible smell and was very soupy… also ordered beef and pepper, also very soupy.. prices are going up and the quality is going down… businesses like this will continue to lose customers.. i paid 42$ for my food and felt ripped off… never again

Fried rice is almost identical to the former Hong Kong. Chow mein was a bit heavy on the celery for me. Super friendly and prompt service!

I don’t know why the bad review for China Inn. I have always found them to be friendly, helpful and delicious! I’ve eaten there a couple of times for various celebrations and my food has been hot, fresh, and I get a thanks for stopping in. Sometimes the treatment you receive is the treatment you give, Robin.

My wife and I dine there regularly, approximately monthly. She has found the food quite good over the years with a very few minor dissatisfactions. I am always very well pleased because I order only the house lo mien.
