I won't go here again. I needed to be seen for a possible blood clot, and it was a several hour wait (even though the online wait time stated 30 minutes). I get that places are understaffed and stressed, but it was a mess. The floor was covered with bits of food, the waiting room chairs were strewn about. There were several people loudly complaining and one man was getting aggressive with reception. I finally left before ever being seen.

Horrible service! Our nurses bedside manner was the rudest I’ve ever seen I was trying to calm my son during a panic attack/tremor by rubbing his hair which was the only thing that relaxed him as a child and the nurse asked me to sit down because I was making him anxious! I have years of experience caregiving I was not making him anxious! I also have experience in the medical field and know these tremors do not just stop on their own, they have to be treated with a medicine and my son was too dehydrated to hold down the medicine and any needles were making him too anxious which would cause another tremor they never put him on a drip at all for dehydration so that he’d have a chance for the pills too stay down! This is the second horrible experience we have had there. We left the ER not having any solution to the tremors and we just got them stopped about an hour ago. My son went to the ER at 5 PM it is now 1:48 AM.. No MRI, no prescription meds, absolutely no help at all!

Went in bleeding with hole in leg. Only Waited about 10 minutes before seeing anyone. Nurses were great. 39 stitches lasted on way home. Five stars not enough for the care I received!

Never post reviews, but I felt the need to this time. It was my first time visiting the ER so I was very anxious. The PA, Lillian Tran, was rude, dismissive, and seemed to be in a hurry when speaking to me and my mother. My mom does not speak/understand English very well, and when my mom would ask questions regarding my care, Lillian did not take the time to explain things slowly and in an easily understandable way. Very disappointing. I was very hesitant to even go to the ER since my symptoms were not THAT severe, but I was still in a lot of pain. This visit (5/4/23) only increased my anxiety around speaking with medical professionals and their dismissiveness. I will say the nurses who helped me were very kind, patient, and never seemed annoyed at me for merely existing.

If you like being misdiagnosed and spending extra money and then have to go to another ER to get properly diagnosed....then this place is perfect. I have already reached out to you in the billing department. After being transferred several times I spoke with someone who was able to send my account to the complaints department. Hopefully we can get this resolved. Thank you.

I went to the ER 03/16/23. I was in a lot of pain, and just wanted to find out what was wrong with me to feel better. The nurses were so kind even when I was a bit short with them because I couldn’t handle the amount of pain I was in. I kept having to go to the restroom and I felt bad because they had to unhook me from my IV bag. They never showed if they were annoyed with me, they all had a smile and a kind voice that made me feel safe. I still wasn’t feeling the best when I was able to leave but after about 8 hours I was feeling much better. Hopefully I’ll keep going forward and get back to my normal self. I really appreciate all the people there that took care of me and made me feel heard. I always avoid the drs at all costs because my past experiences made me feel like i wasn’t valid for my reason to come or I was overreacting. Again, thank you for making me feel heard and taking me seriously.

I have been here twice and have had nothing but good experiences. The last time I was there, I fell down some steps and fractured my tailbone. Man was that painful. The NP on duty was absolutely wonderful, he is super friendly and extremely compassionate. Even tho I am a recovering addict on MAT he didn't judge me or treat me like it. The nursing staff was wonderful and friendly and compassionate too but the NP was wonderful on a whole other level. I have seen him before at Wesley and he has always been very compassionate towards his patients. Wesley, you hit the jackpot with him.

They are as efficient as possible when busy. They care.. which seems hard to find these days in health care. Just want to say thank you to all of my sons docs and nurses at the west location the last two times. Top notch and I wanted to share:)

I have NEVER had a bad experience here, NEVER. I'm not a regular ER visitor because I have a Dr, yet I do find myself in need of emergency services occasionally. My visit just this week was due to appendicitis requiring immediate surgery. In LESS THAN 5 minutes of arrival, I was in a bed talking with a Dr. Within 5s of that discussion, I was given pain meds to control the terrible pain. Try to get THAT level of service in any other ER in the city, yea, good luck with that. You guys are tops in my book! To make my point more clear, I am 6 minutes away from the closest ER to my home, I drive 15 minutes to go to this ER only, and worth every second of that drive, even in terrible pain!

I was seen for a kidney stone by Dr. Mark Mosley; he was very kind, caring, and considerate of my pain; he even gave me information on kidney stones to let me know what vitamins and otc meds to avoid that can cause stones. I've had several kidney stones in the past and never have been told there's a way to help avoid them before, I was very appreciative of that information! The nurses were very kind as well! The wait was a little bit long but I don't go to the ER expecting a fast trip, it takes time to get lab work back from the lab, and often times there's only a couple of doctors working, sometimes only one.

I never post reviews but the experience was so terrible it negatively impacted my sons hearing. Went in for ear pain, possible infection. I explained my son has history with ears. He has had multiple reconstructive eardrum surgeries and I did not want the reconstructed ear drum to rupture. There was ear wax blocking view of the ear drum. This happens frequently, and doctors attempt to remove the obstruction when they see it. This doctor didn’t try. We were given a prescription for a stool softener and sent away. I attempted to ask the nurse questions. As we were leaving she said “ it’s not fun having sick kids.” Same day the ear wax dislodged, and the ear drum ruptured. After it ruptured my son said his hearing significantly decreased. If we would have been taken seriously this could have had a different outcome. Currently he cannot hear well enough to sit in class and hear what Is being said. Made an appt with his Otolarygnologist in KC to follow up. Alarming experience.

Poor experience. Came in very early morning, around 3 AM. There was almost nobody there. Nursing staff was not very nice. Had a very sick 1 year old and they were burdened that I couldn’t leave her in the room, to escort my 5 year old to the bathroom. However, this is not the reason for the 1 star rating. The low rating is because we received a $595.00 bill from the hospital, stating that insurance would not cover her visit. After investigating, I discovered they never submitted her information to her insurance company. When my insurance company called, they lied and said I never provided any information…but I literally had to sit on an iPad at the end of our original ER visit, with a screaming child, to fill out the information and even had to do a video call with an rep from the billing department in their end. TLDR; Nursing staff rude to small children and make sure to check your bill and insurance before paying anything to them.

RUDE staff! Someone needs to give them hospitality lessons. A lady with the first name of Shelly who took my ultrasound was really rough with me and did not explain some of the physically invasive procedures going on. She was very impatient and rude during and was not hospitable at all. It’s like she was irritated for me even being there. Another nurse in her 40s-50s with a pixie cut, dark hair and highlights walked into my room while I was in the bathroom and asked my boyfriend in a dismissive manner who he was, then asked how old I am- as to suggest my partner was some creep accompanying me. And all the comments saying to direct their concerns to the number listed, I called them days ago and heard nothing back. This place has no intention of being nice to their patients at all. If I can be nice to people yelling at me in a fast food job, you can be nice to me when I’m in pain.

The wait was long but it was okay because I knew they were busy. All the staff seemed pretty stressed out but I knew they were doing their best with how busy it was. Mikela was super super sweet. I’m very glad I had her as my nurse

Lazy Doctor Jose Cepeda and lazy nurses. The guy that checked me in at the front gave more service for my child than the dr or nurse did, and all the front guy did was take her weight and height. I brought my daughter (almost 14months old) in for a severe cough, congestion, vomiting. They never took her temp they didn’t do anything beside take a quick listen to her lungs. Then proceeded to tell me the most commonly known information a mother could get. “Coughing is a way of your body getting rid of the sickness” everybody knows that! most people have taken general science class. I needed treatment for my daughter, for her symptoms. I didn’t need feeling full regret for getting her out of the house for nothing. After the doctor gave me the most useless, commonly known information found on google, he left the room and not one person communicated with us on leaving, paper work, etc. finally I asked if I needed to check out and the nurse said “oh we still need to finish registration “! That was the worse experience when it comes to pure laziness and lack of professionalism.

My boyfriend was taken by ambulance from salina to Wesley. The staff took amazing care of him. He didn't have a cell and they took the time to let me speak to him on several occasions. I appreciate the hearts on staff here. Thank you so much especially Brandon. Bldg 7 room 7... Lucky 7....

Took my nephew in to be seen for an asthma attack and the staff was beyond rude!! Hannah RN, BSN third shift was bluntly rude!! You can tell she was comfortable acting that way and felt assured nothing would happen to her! She rolled her eyes, blew her breathe, said some rude comments right infront of the charge nurse and doctor and nobody batted an eyelash! She was rude with confidence!! She clearly hated her job which was crazy cuz the only thing she had to do was hand us some paperwork and fetch the doctor so we could ask questions!! The doctor never came in not once to see us!! I can’t believe they allowed to behave in such a manner!! No wonder the lobby is a ghost town because word has gotten out about how awful the staff is there!! Please go else where!!!

Sent my daughter home after not peeing for 24 hours, no labs or fluids, still having severe diarrhea. Turns out when i took her elsewhere she was severely dehydrated and had CDIFF and was hospitalized for TWO WEEKS because she ended up with severe colitis! They supposedly “looked into it” and said they did nothing wrong at Wesley west (when they didn’t even get labs to make sure she wasn’t dehydrated). We went straight to another ER where she was promptly admitted and severely dehydrated. What a joke when she should of had Atleast labs done and it would of shown a clear issue. Even in their ER notes they put that I felt uncomfortable going home. Called our PCP while waiting and he told us to leave and go somewhere else because what their plan was was WRONG. The only reason I signed discharged papers is because I had called pcp while waiting for them to do nothing. Glad I listened to him over the doctor and NP here. Your peer review committee is a joke to, when the other hospital said she should of never been sent home, and her PCP said that their plan was wrong, despite what her “vital signs” said.

I want to be clear that this review is only for two consecutive visits that happened in the late morning and evening of Saturday, October 7, 2023. In the past I've had meh experiences here, but these two were exceptional. The staff were pleasant and friendly and got me in almost immediately. Diane (can't remember her last name) was very friendly and jovial and talked to me like a human being and not just another number coming through her ER. During the first visit Dr. Hartig was very thorough in explaining what was going on and correctly diagnosed my lip swelling as a staph infection without even having done a culture yet. Told me to come back if I started running a fever or the swelling and pain got worse. When I walked in with a packed bag (as instructed) a few hours later because the pain was unbearable, he didn't judge me at all. He merely asked if I thought I needed to be admitted. When I said yes, he admitted me immediately without another question or judgment. While we waited for my transfer to the Central and Hillside location because there were no available rooms elsewhere, Diane gave me some antibiotics and dilaudid (I think that's what it was) and talked to me to keep me calm and keep my mind off the pain. When the drugs kicked in and I started talking about any and everything that came to mind without a filter, she didn't get exasperated or annoyed. She just kept talking to me like we were having a normal conversation. Overall, both of these visits were exceptional experiences despite the circumstances. Thanks to Diane and Dr. Hartig.

This was my first ER visit since I was a kid. I was in severe pain in my abdomen and back. I was called after a few more urgent patients. I understand triage. I was hardly able to communicate due to the pain, but the receptionist, nurses, and doctor were very helpful and kind to me. They got me out of pain and comfortable quickly and gave me my labs results in a timely manner. I am so grateful for Dr. Bedaiwi and my nurse (I forgot her name, initials are JRD). Thank you all at Wesley West ER for your compassion and help.

Terrible experience wish I could give negative stars, my son and his Girlfriend went in to this ER my son was in severe pain and was extremely sick with a bad migraine confusion and other symptoms this hospital did not take him or his symptoms seriously and treated him as if he was there for pain meds and rushed through everything and sent him home in the condition he was in, his nurse even talked rudely about him right in front of him and his GF to another nurse, I am extremely pi**ed off upset and very very disappointed at how they treated him, had they actually took his symptoms seriously and did the correct testing such as a Lumbar Puncture or atleast said he needs to go to the big hospital for that procedure if they were unable to do it there, they would have known he had meningitis he ended up hospitalized and admitted to the ICU a couple days later for viral Meningitis thankfully it wasn't bacterial but he was still in pretty bad shape he was unable to walk and disoriented, confused mumbling and seriously lethargic and in severe pain thankfully welsey medical center on Hillside actually took his symptoms seriously gave him the correct tests and took great care of him we definitely will not be going back to the one on Tyler and 13th!!!

Helped a friend to the ER here since it was nearby and pleasantly surprised with the experience (all things considered). The RNs (didn't catch name) and PA on staff (Lillian I think) saw us in a timely manner and helped explain what we could expect to see in the next week or so and got us out of there which is all we could have asked for ha. Maybe don't have a stomachache in the first place but if so it isn't too bad if you end up here!

I had the best experience possible for an ER visit, at Wesley West ER. I will not go into my reason for the visit, but I will say I was pretty concerned for my health at the time, and needed some answers. I arrived at approximately 11:30 p.m. and was taken back quickly, after a few brief questions. They went to work quickly and calmly, all while explaining exactly what they were doing. Each time they got a result, they told me promptly, which very much helped to calm and reassure me. All of the nurses were very friendly, gentle, and treated me with dignity. I do have to mention that the attending doctor, Dr. O'Donnell, was fantastic! He too, took time to explain things, was calm, and spoke to me very respectfully and genuinely. He even went to get water for me to take my med. I appreciatd the privacy of the room, the lower lighting and the convenience of everything. I mostly appreciated the entire staff! I sincerely hope to not need an ER visit again anytime soon, but I would not hesitate for a moment, to return to Wesley West, if the need arose. Thanks to all who made my visit the best it could be!
