This is such a cute gem in Witcha! It is super small, so I recommend going during the feeding time (12:00) to get the most value for your time. This is the only time the inside exhibits are open, and you’ll get the most animal action. Tod was super nice and informed me that all the animals here are rescues and the city funds it! While you’ll only spend 5-10 minutes here (maybe 15-20 if you go during feeding time), I definitely recommend visiting if you’re in the area.

A small but mighty rotating exhibit of wildlife. It is well worth the five minute drive from Keep of the Plains to visit.

The people were awesome we came and watched them them feed the animals. They were all nice and knew what they were talking about. Really liked the animals as well. and engaged the kids which was awesome. Spent probably an hour and it was free. I highly recommend.

Riverside Park is the best and Kansas Wildlife Exhibit might be the most charming feature. Nestled alongside the playground and splash pad, stands a collection of native animals that can no longer live in the wild. Every day at noon the animals are fed by the staff, who take the opportunity to educate and engage with the public. They bring animals out so that people can get a closer view. My 4 year old is so enamored that he had his birthday party in the park, outside of the exhibit.... The upside is that the staff will happily teach your child how to recognize a red-tailed hawk. The downside is that amazon does not carry that costume.

This was such a wholesome adventure for the entire family. The staff was very knowledgeable and passionate about the animals. They were also friendly and inviting. The kiddos were able to experience the animals first hand and learned a some fun facts.

Wonderful place for people of all ages. They have many species native to Kansas. The staff and volunteers are very knowledgeable and interesting to talk to. Be sure to go right before noon as the staff is there to feed the Bobcat and other animals at noon..this is your best chance of seeing the animals out and about.

This is such a great experience. Todd was fantastic sharing the stories and information about each of the animals. Visit at noon to see the animals being fed. We had a great time!

Loved hearing all about the animals, watching them get fed, and learning there are a few local animals inside! Feedings are every day at 12 pm! It's a must!

The Kansas wildlife exhibit is a perfect place to take kids or yourself to learn about some of the beautiful animals native to Kansas. If you get there early enough you can see the feeding and learn more about these Beauties! They've got the cutest bobcat, opposum, turtles, snakes, beever (he's a night walker you probably wont see him unless you go during the evening) variety of birds, and even some skins/shells to touch inside. The staff there really love the animals and are so educated on diets. Habitats, behaviors etc. It's conveniently located next to the park/playground and perfect for a outdoor free experience. We will Definitely be going back again!

Smallest zoo I've ever seen but we'll worth touring. I had perfect timing as they were teaching us about the animals while feeding them. If you come around 12 pm they feed the animals and teach at the same time, plus it's all free!

Small, free, 24-hour zoo in the middle of a park. Was actually quite enjoyable and we are glad we made the effort to go. Our 7 year old really enjoyed it.

We found this kind of by accident. My mom and I took my five nieces. We were looking at the animals and the zookeeper there welcomed us into the visitors center. He answered all my nieces' questions and even brought a few animals out for them to interact with. I recommend this for just a small little stop to see some animals. They recommend to visit at noon when it's feeding time. The afternoons are a little bit slower because the animals usually nap. However, we went at nap time and it still was a great experience! There is also a park nearby so kids can also play after they see the animals.

Still a really nice place to visit. You can see rescued wildlife, learn a lot about each animal, and watch feedings. All for free. The folks working there are friendly and knowledgeable. They are happy to stop and talk with visitors. Parking is nearby and the trees help keep the area cool, even in summer.

Absolute must to stop in here. Quite, clean and very well set up. The amount of information and you get while being so close the the animals is amazing. A great way to learn about native species to Kansas. Incredible this place is open 365 and it's right there by downtown. What a gem. Will definitely be going back.

We visited #kansaswildlifeexhibit on New Years Day and we happened to run into Todd at feeding time. The animals were all well taken care of and fed fresh meat, vegetables, and water despite the cold weather. Todd was a great guide and we really enjoyed our visit. Definitely one of the highlights of Wichita. He also put together an indoor exhibit with a lot of interesting animals. Todd really brought life to this place compared to when we first visited five years ago.
