Ate here on 8/17. The food was decent. My issue is we were told the total was $19.88. We paid with a card and left cash tip on the table. The next morning my card was processed for a $21.88 charge. So the server went and added an extra $2 tip to our card receipt. I went to the store Thursday to ask about it and the older lady said she will have to find her receipts for the day to check, they must be at her house she said and she will call once she found them. Friday I got a call to tell me she needed to go to her house to find the receipt again. Now here it is Sunday and still no word back about the server illegally adding a tip to the receipt. Even if it’s only $2 that is literally theft.

After 10 years of eating here, I've had the worst experiences. The last 3 visits have been really bad. Being seated prior to a rush, then not having my order taken after multiple customers came in after had theirs taken and even served appetizers, when I got the food served at my table it was cold, got no apology for the lack of service or cold food. The third time, I picked up my to go order and went to the car, and it had 3 pieces of very long hair in it. Went straight back in and quietly told them (to not cause a scene with other customers.) I was given a void receipt and no apology or anything. That was definitely last time eating here. I'm not sure what caused service to decline in the last year but I hope it gets better.

This thai place is great. First timers but the food is excellent and cooked very well. I got spicy duck basil, duck basil is one of my favorite currys and they did fantastic. Prices are a little high for portion size but I will definitely be back. Great service.

Friends told us to try this place and so happy we did! We ordered the appetizer platter to start. Every item was delicious and flavorful. My main dish was Lad Na chicken and my husband ordered the crispy duck. I loved my dish so much! The flavor was amazing! I wanted to drink the sauce! Husband's says it was the best crispy duck he's ever eaten. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. We'll definitely return. I apologize for the half eaten dish pic of the lad Na chicken. I forgot to take the picture before I dived in.

The service has really gone down hill in the last three years. They have not gotten my order right once in the last year. I have been put on hold, on the phone, and then been ignored several times. The wait is too long. Plus, the portions have gotten smaller, and the quality of the food has decreased while their prices have increased. This used to be a pleasant “hole-in-the-wall” of Wichita, but now it’s just another bad restaurant in this run-down city…

This restaurant doesn’t look welcoming from the outside but the price is very decent and the food taste great. The papaya salad is as authentic as you can get as well as the fried rice.

I usually get great food, but when given the wrong order, after watching mine being handed off to someone else, I felt unsure whether I would ever order there again. They should have checked the order before giving it to me. I will edit the post once the situation is resolved.

Very tasty. The staff worked quickly and well together to provide us basil chicken and a curry dish. I asked for mild due to not knowing this restraunt and it was. The waitress brought us spices to spice up the dishes to our liking. The Tai tea was excellent. Restraunt is huge and dated but well kept.

Chiang Mai's is a simple place that does Thai right. Pad thai and stir fry have great flavor, and when you ask for spicy they deliver. Curry felt a tad bit watery, but still good nonetheless. Prices are more than fair, which is the best part of this little hole in the wall. You won't be disappointed!

The food was amazing. I had the combination fried rice and I couldn’t have enjoyed it more. It came with a spring roll and a dessert. The portion was good for the price.

The staff was super sweet. Seemed like a family owned business and man, did it show in their food. FABULOUS! 👌 Got the papaya salad and squid salad because I wanted both. Really generous portions. I brought leftovers home for a second meal!

Fantastic little place. Utterly fantastic. They brought me an amazing tea I've never had before, and the food was so delicious. The vibe is very low key, but these people know what they're doing with the food. Came here on a whim during a road trip, and I'll definitely be returning sometime.

Second visit and it was as good as the first. Delicious food and large portions. Waitress was friendly and efficient. The food is prepared non-spicy so everyone can enjoy but for those of us who prefer heat, like me, just ask for Thai hot (or just hot, medium, mild...your choice) when ordering. We will be going back!

Chicken pad Thai could have used some more sauce in it. Luckily I had some peanut sauce in my fridge! After adding some of that and some chili oil it was so good. The mango sticky rice though!!!! STAR of the show! Almost wanted to call and order another order of it!! So fresh and not too sweet and the sauce they put on it was so good! Will definitely be back and make sure I order 2 orders of the mango rice 😋

Nice spot, the older lady (maybe an owner?) was swamped with orders when I came in, but she was quick and so nice. The food was outstanding, good portions and great price. I told her I wanted spicy, like the "real" spicy, knock me on my pockets, and she obliged (most places seem to pull back even if you ask for super spicy) very satisfied.

First time visiting and I’m glad this place was recommended to me. Even though the waitress forgot to place our order, it was fixed very quickly and our food served fresh. My only complaint is that I live on the opposite side of town and won’t likely visit very often. This a great eatery!!

This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants. It is a great little family owned comfortable dining setting. Hands down favorite chicken fried rice, and the gaeng dang (red curry) 🤌

Awesome hidden gem. Great pad Thai, always good, never bad. Just wish it was more spicy. Love this place.

Holy moly, I was not expecting good Thai food upon moving to Wichita. I had the pad see ewe, maximum Thai spice, and it was delicious. Have gone a little hotter but the texture of everything was perfect. On top of that my friend had the fried rice, it was so good he had to order more to take home. Definitely a great little hidden gem.

This is definitely a family owned restaurant. Foods great service and atmosphere are lacking, but as long as I know what to expect it's good. Multiple vegan and vegetarian options for those who are looking for that. Be careful on your spice level as it depends on who's making the food. My experience sometimes medium is fine and sometimes medium is at my upper limit.

Just flew in to Houston from out of state. Met a very nice and friendly person. Turns out she is going to be at and manage the Chiang Mai restaurant. After reading the reviews, I look forward to dining there with my family.

Amazing local Thai restaurant with quality food each visit. They give you great portions for the price too. I loved the pad thai, green curry, and panang curry as they were very flavorful with fresh ingredients. Even when I asked for thai hot which is the hottest spice in the restaurant, the dishes weren't really spicy but still very tasty! They also have the best Thai tea for a local restaurant in Wichita! The place is kept clean and the staff gives nice service.

Good: Tom Yum soup (cup, shrimp) dessert donut Bad: Beef with Oyster Sauce - definitely did NOT have any oyster sauce flavor at all. Just tasted like cooked beef. Average portion with rice and veg. Although it wasn't horrible it certainly wasn't what I was expecting. Overall: I'd give it another try based on the reviews but first impression was pretty mediocre.

We were traveling through and needed a quick & kinda late dinner that wouldn’t be too heavy. Found Chiang Mai through Google map/reviews and it was a good choice. Husband and I ordered fresh spring rolls and a plate of chicken pad Thai to share. The spring rolls were great. So many restaurants don’t include the fresh herbs but, yes, there were in there! Mmmmm. I especially love the fresh mint and the ground chicken was quite flavorful. The pad Thai was also delicious, especially with the fresh lime wedge. Back on the road now and really happy with our stop!

Delicious. I’ve recently began working on major diet changes due to gastric issues. The tofu pad thai has bamboo shoots, rice noodles, tofu, small amount of nuts, which are all great for my diet. Green onions I should avoid, but I love them! But there weren’t many so it wasn’t overwhelming. Loved it.
