This
review
is
NOT
explicitly
aimed
at
the
KINKZ
itself,
but
generally
at
the
entire
Schaafenstrasse
as
the
"gay
Bermuda
Triangle".
We
were
in
Cologne
the
weekend
before
Shrove
Monday
and
thought
we
could
crash
on
Schaafenstrasse
like
so
many
times
before...
Well...
Pustekuchen!!!
First
of
all,
in
order
to
gain
access
to
the
bars
on
Schaafenstrasse,
you
have
to
buy
a
wristband.
The
prices
are
€20
for
one
day
or
€35
for
the
carnival
weekend
(session).
In
principle
there
would
be
nothing
wrong
with
going
to
a
bar
at
the
end
of
the
day.
But
that's
not
the
case.
After
you
have
paid
€20
per
person
for
a
“day
ticket”
for
access
to
the
bars
on
Schaafenstrasse,
you
have
the
pleasure
of
queuing
up.
Of
course,
these
only
lead
you
into
a
bar
when
visitors
who
were
previously
there/inside
leave
the
bar
and
a
seat
becomes
available.
Up
to
this
point
I
would
still
say:
"Okay!"...
However,
it
becomes
particularly
difficult
to
understand
from
the
point
in
time
when,
for
example,
B.
leaves
a
bar
to
smoke
and
after
a
cigarette
has
to
queue
at
the
end
of
the
queue
to
get
back
into
the
bar...
I
just
don't
know
why
we
paid
€60
for
an
evening
with
three
people
when
90%
of
the
evening
consists
of
"standing
in
a
queue"...
For
our
part,
that
was
it
for
now
with
Schaafenstrasse
in
Cologne...
We
will
definitely
find
other
shops
where
we
can
spend
our
money.
But
taking
money
out
of
people's
pockets
so
flimsily
for
no
service
(€60
for
effectively
NOTHING!)
is
ultimately
worth
0
stars
