It is November 11 at 5pm. I ordered ribs and fettuccine Alfredo online. I get there and the pickup counter says they gave my order to the wrong person. They put a new order in and I have to wait 20min. I go to the barnelli counter and ask for extra Parmesan cheese on the side. The manager at this time and date tells me I have to go to the pickup counter to ask for this, the pickup counter told me to go to barnelli side and ask. The manager was rude and very short with me. Clearly not professional. I finally get my order and get home and noticed the Alfredo has less sauce than normal and there was no extra cheese. I stay too far to go back. I realize not to ever come here again and warn anyone else about this place. Update 12/31/23 I was contacted and promised compensation for their mistake after signing up on the Portillo’s link they gave. I still have not been compensated. Just a way to make it seem like they did something and I’m here to let everyone know nothing was done!!!

One of my worst experiences at Portillo's. First off the lady taking our order was extremely rude and from what we received took our order wrong. We asked for an Italian Beef not dipped with sauce on the side, we were sad when we got back to our hotel and the sandwich was dipped wet and soggy. Fried were cold and not crispy like we are used to.We also got a Chocolate Shake that was warm and unappetizing. The only thing they got right was the Maxwell Street Polish. Overall this experience was terrible and really questions our desire to return with is sad as we always try to hit Portillo's when we are in town.

I typically love Portillo's and we stopped at this location after coming home from Midway Airport. We ordered and it took 15 minutes to get our order. At least 10 people were standing around the pick up area for 15-20 mins for their food. Then my beef sandwich had almost no beef. I took a picture it was so bad. I mean look at it! What is that? My husband had ordered a double cheeseburger, picked it up, and the bun tore in half. I asked if it was cut in half, like in purpose? No, the bread just... split. I would have complained right then but with a group of people standing around waiting for their food I really doubted I would have got anywhere. Very disappointing.

I'm pretty annoyed. This location used to be really good but has gone downhill the last couple of years. Between the service and the quality of the food, it's just not there. The drive thru is ALWAYS a mess. I went inside this time and there wasn't many people waiting, I ordered food and got half of it decently quick. Then I wait for my SALAD, I waited a total of 40 minutes for my food. My food was "to go". So basically at this point half my food was cold by the time I got home. When I asked the lady if they still had my number, she basically ignored me. Then she asked what I ordered 10 minutes later. It also doesn't help that depending what you order you have to wait on 2 different sides. This is a reoccurring issue and I'm honestly done giving them my business. I've heard this from others as well.

Extremely good tasting food and not expensive at all! This is the definition of tourist spot! The atmosphere is awesome and there is plenty of seating inside to get the full experience. Even though it's an assembly line experience, be ready to wait for your food! Most orders took well over the 10mins wait time so just be patient!

What a nice dining place definitely recommend. I love the atmosphere of tho solace with the music to the seating and decorations. It definitely can get packed but overall so nice. Service here was kind which was nice. Definitely an authentic Chicago restaurant. There normal hotdog here is a classic and really good. Their veggie dog was surprisingly also very nice. The onion rings were very crispy and delicious. The fish sandwich felt like an upgrade from the typical fish filet and was very nice. Their chocolate cake is so incredibly good. 5/5 would recommend

Don’t know if we should laugh or cry at the fact that they really gave us a spicy chicken sandwich with no *chicken.* Ordered for pickup, waited an extra 20+ mins, and then received this. What a bad joke on a Friday evening. Rest of the food smacked, though.

This is a famous Chicago staple and the food matches up. Just be careful. The burgers are large and do not lack on flavor.

Unfortunately they got my order wrong. It took about 20 minutes just to place an order. I ordered an Italian beef sandwich with sweet peppers, dipped; as well as a hot dog with everything on it. When my order finally arrived there were two Italian beef sandwiches dry with zero peppers.

Absolutely terrible. I've been going to Portillo's since I was a kid. I've always been a massive fan, but since they sold, it's painfully obvious the dedication to quality and customer service has absolutely evaporated. I've been getting my fries well-done for decades. Never a complaint, never an issue. This time, they thought it'd be funny to give me (very literally) frozen fries. Whatever, funny joke. I asked for a manager to correct it so I could just eat and go... She stared at me and said, verbatim, "I don't have time for this...". When I asked for her name, I was refused. I've given them a few more chances sporadically since then, but every single time we're disappointed. It's never been like this... I'm down for a good joke, but correct it and let's move on with our day. Your food and customer service deserves nothing better than One star. You have a ton to work on, and it pains me to say that to a restaurant I've loved for so many years.

What a great discovery, the polish sausage and the burger were delicious. I would definitely go back for a quick casual dinner. The inside was really cute and brought you back to the time of the 40s. Classic Chicago style hot dog!

Very disappointed in the service. I called in to order a large party salad, was transferred to the cater team. Placed order at 1:30, I was told it would be ready by 2:30. I advised I’d be closer to 3, she offered to have t ready later and I declined and asked to keep it for 2:30 in case I could get there earlier. She advised no problem. I showed up at 3:20…they couldn’t find my order. Though I watched them talking amongst themselves and said they’d go to the salad department, not once did they give me an update. At this point there’s 10 more people in the line, all who ordered ahead of time, it was more than 10 minutes before one of the staff assisted or talked to any of us. Finally another patron just yelled asking about his order and they handed it to him right away. I then asked about mine, and again they talked amongst themselves about where my SALAD (that’s it) and bread were, but never gave me a update. At 4pm I was finally handed my salad… I called to talk to a manager about the experience, I was transferred many times to a phone that rang for more than 5 minutes and then the line was picked up and then we was hung up on. I called back and the gentlemen said I can transfer you to a manager and I said no, no, please put me down and and get the manager I don’t want to be transferred again…I was transferred. After another minute and a half of ringing another gentlemen picked up, I asked if he was a manager and he said no I’ll transfer you and before I could say anything I’m ringing again, but this time only 3.5 minutes of ringing before I was AGAIN picked up and then hung up on again. I’ve never ever left a bad review, and I’m always understanding when it’s busy, but their process, or lack there of, is awful and I think they need to know they need to improve not only their training on how to work in a fast paced environment, but also communication with their customers and listen. I wont bother going to this location again. Disappointed and frustrated to say the least and now late for the party I am bringing the salad to..

Stopped in for what I thought would be a quick trip but boy was I wrong. I ordered a big beef and a jumbo hotdog. 20 minutes later I'm still waiting while everyone else that ordered before and after me has gotten their order and left. I don't know why it would take over 20 minutes just to put some meat already cooked on French bread. I definitely would not go back ever in this lifetime!

We had an awesome experience at Portillo's! My personal favorite is a Chicago dog (pic included). I didn't get a pic of the rest of the family's food because I clearly was only interested in mine! Portillo's employee, Tommy was the "cherry on top" of our great experience. I've never experienced such warm and caring hospitality from a restaurant before. Tommy was friendly, kind and went above and beyond for my family. The next time I'm in the Chicago area I'll definitely be coming back! Till next time!

Visited this location as our first visit to Portillo's ever. Amazed by the amount of food they crank out through both the drive-thru and inside. Enjoyed a decent italian beef & sausage sandwich, a Chicago dog, a baked mostaccioli, and a spicy chicken sandwich. Definitely a great place to pick up something fast, but have had better of each of these things elsewhere. The great value, fast service, and decent food is hard to argue with though.

Typical Portillo's. It was faster when the family owned the business. Place is clean. Prices are above average. Ample parking. Food servings have shrunk. Open late. What used to be a ten is now a seven.

Overall, I love Portillo's! This is a great restaurant for a night out with family or friends. My favorite items are the French fries, chopped salad, and chocolate cake. Most of the time, the food is fresh, and my French fries don't make it home. Lately, my fries haven't been fresh, or the chopped salad has a few tomatoes included after requesting "no tomatoes." The staff is always pleasant and makes the correction immediately. Don't take my word for it. Try them put for yourself! The store is always clean, and the associates work diligently to fill your order. Thank you, Portillo's in Willowbrook, for your service.

I flew in and from Florida and Portillo is always a #1 go option. Walked in and was amazed with the atmosphere, brings back memories with my father. I ordered the Beef and the young gentleman in the yellow hat making the Beef was very on point, great respect, good service, great attitude. Portillo's you have a good one!

Been coming to this location for a while. Today was disgusting. The cashier Patti was amazing and sweet. But food took forever. No one stood by the counter to hand food. And then the one lady “tall black woman with a hat and glasses in” was beyond rude to everyone and looked miserable. She was slamming food and drinks on counter and mumbling stuff under her breathe. One lady got fed up and requested a refund. We eventually got out food 20 min later and mildly warm. Definitely going to another location. That woman needs to quit or be fired if she is so unhappy working there.

A Chicago institution. The VERY BEST Chicago-style hot dogs and wonderful Italian beef sandwiches. I recommend the jumbo chili dog with cheese and onions or the beef and cheddar croissant!!! And their onion rings are unsurpassed.

So this is the second time I've had Portillo's in less than 15 hours. The chicken tender were really good and size too. Very nice. The Chicago dog ok that is better than expected 👏. But the Big Beef is the way to go. Make sure u get the nacho cheese on the side and add both sweet and spicy peppers. The dipping sauce is good, too, but it will make the sandwich very soggy, so get it on the side.

You can't go wrong with the classics. Delicious chicago style hot dogs & a dipped beef & sausage sandwich hit the spot so much that we went 2 days in a row while visiting the Chicago area. My kids loved their burgers too. Thank you!

I’ve been coming to this location for over two years since it’s close to work and I’m just not sure what happened. This place used to be really friendly and efficient, but that seems to be gone. Today I ordered a salad and a beverage at 11:42 AM on the app. The confirmation email said it would be ready at 11:52 with a 10 minute window (so should be ready no later than 12:02). Ok, fine, except it took way longer and no one was really standing at the counter to give people an idea of how long the wait would be. It was a pickup order on a Tuesday afternoon. I left work to grab the food and did not expect to waste my entire break waiting for one salad and a drink. Once an employee finally came to the counter, she was really standoffish, but softened a great deal when I didn’t yell at her - that says a lot about the work atmosphere. I assume based on recent reviews and the general air of “I don’t care” from the employees that they are used to people getting upset. I don’t blame the employees because their service is a reflection of the very poor management and training. I hope the service and management can be addressed. I love the Cobb salad for lunch, but won’t be back anytime soon. The location close to my house is awesome.

Always good and consistent food. This particular portillos was extremely clean, inviting staff and attentive. Really had that old diner type of feel. They had many older people of staff too which is great! Amazing service, amazing food and extra clean. Totally recommend if you’re in the area, portillos is really good always but when you go in and get this type of service that’s just icing on the cake!

Just bought the chocolate cake for a birthday. These cakes are readily available, and there's no need for advance notice. However, they don't customize the cake with a message. The cake is very moist and light but the chocolate cream is heavy.

I’m not a fan of hotdogs, but this place is on point. It’s the pickle. The pickle is so dang good. Soft light bun, hit peppers, juicy tomatoes. Not nom all in my face.

Delicious as always! I had the Italian beef sandwich and fries. Make sure you get it dipped in the Au jus, that makes it even better. I always drop by here occasionally just for a quick and flavorful bite to eat.

Always look forward to eating at Portillo’s! This location disappointed tho. Asked for extra gravy on the side and got it all over the sandwich. The bread was all soggy by the time it made it back to the hotel to eat. Did carry out and didn’t check the order. Normally we eat in but did take out at this location. Lesson learned don’t get take out and check order before leaving. Beef also was skimpy servings. Could have put both sandwiches together to equal one.

Best experience ever, the gentleman taking the orders at the drive thru was absolutely courteous, friendly, polite and in a great mood overall. He read back my order and it was perfect. His name is Ahmed. He made my day with his infectious positive attitude. I will definitely be returning.
