Wow what a great place! The food was outstanding. The chicken was nicely breaded but not overly so. We had the dinner that included the soup and salad bar. It was a great traditional salad bar, and the creamy garlic dressing was outstanding. The portions are large, the service was great and we can't wait to go back again. This has become a regular place for us to eat at. Love this place. This is a must if you love chicken. The route 66 red ale beer is outstanding.

So much to see in this restaurant. Love the RT.66 nostalgia. I came here because of a Jeep event, very cool place. Had never heard of it before. SO glad the Jeep event brought us here. The food was really good & service was super nice & attentive. Chicken had great flavor and love the breading. The drinks were really good too. Highly recommend this cute spot.

We randomly got off the highway and followed the signs to this place and it was so cool! It looks super retro and historic outside and inside it is filled with chicken statuettes of all kinds, has a fireplace and red checkered table cloths. The food so good. I got the chicken and waffles but was fascinated that they don’t just serve fried chicken they serve all kinds of chicken. Like chicken parm, chicken soup, etc. the food was really high quality and was also served really quickly. With fresh hot biscuits coming out first. The wait staff was not young and hip like most restaurants with cool food, it was just regular women who encourage you to order dessert type of deal. Such a good experience!!!

I was last week here and what else can I say? It was the best place I’ve been while in the US. Very nice “classic” style dinner with history and tradition. Super good chicken dinner, absolutely delicious. The waitress very friendly and welcoming. Overall an absolutely great place to have a nice decent dinner to very affordable price. I only regret that I couldn’t come a second time!

Wonderful throwback place on Route 66. From the neon sign, slanted glass, and fireplace. As the name says, they are known for their chicken. Jumbo fried shrimp and the chicken and waffles are favorites. Lots of chicken decorations. We tried their buffet once, but we did not make it in until early afternoon, and many of the items were dried out.

Honestly, never would I have predicted this would be the place where I would eat the worst chicken I’ve ever had in my life. I should’ve known from the breading it was going to be terrible but after the first bite and sour smelling unseasoned chicken I was completely disgusted, which is heartbreaking because the cheese curds were perfect. If I had to describe it, to me it tasted like it was boiled in mop water and coated in shake and bake. I’m sure they’re nice people but they should go back to the drawing board with the chicken

Just very good chicken. I remember as a little boy in the 1950's my parents used to take us for chicken in the basket. Back in those days it was a real treat. My dad had a 1949 Kaiser automobile.

If you want home cooking away from home.. this is the spot. Open since 1946 they are serving some of the juiciest chicken you'll ever put in your mouth. Our server Vicky was very nice and did a great job. The prices went up though since the last time we had been here, the chicken dinner is now pricey at $20+tax+tip. Which seems like a lot of money for chicken, mash potatoes, and some green beans. Regardless.. it's a fantastic spot to grab a quality meal. Don't sit on the bar side that's where all the screaming kids are.. sit in the main dining room with the adults. If it's a weekend make a reservation. 🐔

Rich history and very hometown feel. Came with a big group. Most of us had the buffet. Soup and salad selections are very good. Basically, this is fried food. They had their iconic fried chicken, fish, and ravioli. Mashed potatoes were outstanding. My husband ordered the 4 piece dark meat chicken basket. Everyone was happy with their food. I'm not a fried food eater, so it's was not my preference.

Just love this place I come once or twice a week, service is always great !!! Food is really good, especially if you have 30 minutes to wait for something made from scratch , choose from the menú!! Steaks are really good, well served and with a very decent price (around 20$) Now ,if you are in a rush ,the buffet is a great option , chicken and dumpling soup is a must , friday it seems they have the best choice , shrimps and fish besides the always served chicken!! Few desert and fruits also. Did I mention that service is great ?

Last night, my cousins and I swung by for an early dinner. When I say early, I mean 4:30p which is super early for this 40 year old but I went with the flow! In all, I’d say we had a table of 12 with a mix of some kids. No one really deviated from ordering Fried Chicken for the most part as there was one Chicken Parm and one Baked Chicken order. Our server was great and very kind. We ordered some apps of Jalapeño Poppers (didn’t try) and some Hush Puppies. I’ve had many a hush puppy in my and life and these were flavorless. A simple buttery finish would’ve been nice but not the case. I had the 1/2 Fried Chicken which was delicious with a side of fries. I really enjoyed the light, crispy skin on the chicken as this 1/2 mixed order was more than enough. Not 100% sure I’d go back as almost 100% of the restaurant was not diverse. Plenty of parking in the lot and plenty of tables.

Was in town visiting friends. A friend of mine suggested this restaurant to meet up at. Lived in the area for 13 years and have heard of this place. Just never tried it. Good food and good service. therustynail2014 Shout out: will be back!

I usually get the fried chicken as it is some of the best I've ever had. However, this time I ordered the Buffalo Wings. They were really tasty and pretty large ( I couldn't finish). My brother ordered the Jumbo fried Shrimp. Those were delicious as well. Sorry, I didn't remember to take pictures until we had already eaten some. Also, my brother shared his fries as the wings are al a carte. We also split an order of corn fritters which served as dessert. Service was attentive and friendly. The place is on old Rt. 66 so the decor consists mainly of memorabilia related to the "mother road" hidden gem!

This is a nice place to stop to see Route 66 memorabilia and take some pictures. As far as the food; I had the chicken and corn fritters, it's ok. The staff is friendly. I ordered a carryout. Took about an hour.

Route 66 eatery that has survived the years. Great atmosphere and all the imagery from the heydays. Chicken is old school, not much in flavor but moist. To me it is akin to shake n bake. Corn fritters appetizer are like little funnel cakes. Fun to travel back in time a little bit. Hope they keep on keeping on.

Lucky someone recommended me this place! I ordered the tenders and the 1/2 fried chicken with fries and coleslaw, loved the tenders, they were juicy and the flavor was perfect! The chicken is superior to most fried chicken you can get in the area, the biscuits were perfection. The fries and coleslaw were good too! The staff is friendly and I loved the vibes of the dining room, it feels like you are eating in a southern home from a movie, staff is friendly, will be coming back soon!

It must be good if the rainbow ends here! Walk in and the staff is so fun straight out the gate. Our server was fun and friendly and the food? Are you kidding me, never eating chicken anywhere again!

It was great. The place is on old historic Route 66, so if you ever eat here, you can check off the "eat in a diner on Route 66" task right now. The service was friendly and courteous. I can only recommend everyone to try the local IPA once. It tastes great and has a nice fruity but hoppy flavor. Eaten was a Famous Chicken Basket with Cole Slaw and Fries. Both were very good. For me as a German who accidentally passed by here, it was a real experience. Many thanks for that.

Chicken is very good and you can tell they use quality/healthy chicken. Love the ambiance of the restaurant and the service was great and our server was Celia who was so welcoming! Will definitely continue to support this business.

I heard so many great stories about this place and I was pleased with the overall experience. I called ahead and placed an order for the chicken basket. When I arrived, was greeted warmly and my food was ready. The fried chicken was juicy and crunchy. Fries were cold and soggy, cold slaw was runny. The chicken was great but sides were underwhelming

Cool place with lots of fun chicken decorations! I got the chicken pot pie and it was by far the best chicken pot pie I've had in my life! The iced tea was really good too! The wings were also phenomenal!!

The restaurant feels like walking into someone's home. It's quaint. Currently it's decorated for Christmas. The fireplace is a cute touch. I love how it makes you feel like you've traveled back in time. The Route 66 information is a great photo op. I wasn't thrilled with the lighting but it was okay. Our server was Vicky. She was very thorough but she didn't hover. She answered all of our questions. The green beans are a good portion. Easily two people could share. Actually of the portions were very generous. I liked the sauce on Chef Patrick's wings. I loved the black cherry soda. Maybe it's me but I wasn't impressed. I was underwhelmed. It's okay though. Everything's not for everybody.

Stopped in for lunch. Good buffet with a salad and soup bar. Delicious sides and of course what they're known for....Crispy fried chicken! Wonderful staff, relaxed atmosphere and the sweet tea is not too sweet. A great place to eat and dine in.

Delicious. Portions are great. Service awesome. They had candy bowls on each table for trick or treating kids. (Saturday before Halloween)

Big big portions!! We were a party of 10 and they took care of us right away! It felt like I was at a cozy home where I can relax next to a fireplace. The Christmas decorations were gorgeous and it really felt like I was in a winter wonderland with chicken figurines! It was very amusing seeing how many chicken items they had. There was so much to see! The food was delicious and I can't imagine a better first time experience at a new place! The staff were all so polite and patient with our party and we're forever grateful. Will definitely be back.

This is just my kind of place. I like that the decor remains almost unchanged in the 40 plus years I've been dining here. It's well kept up, but almost all original looking. The food and staff are always amazing, the portions are large and the food is fresh and fairly priced. I almost always stick with the classic chicken basket dinner but have tried other offerings on occasion and have never been disappointed.

I’m not sure how you can rate this place anything less than a 5. Food is outstanding and large portions. Salad bar was great. Service was exceptional. Our waitress was the best I’d had in a while. The decor was right up my alley and on point to it’s history. It’s a definite suggestion for me.

I cannot give this location enough stars. Seriously A friend and I stumbled upon this place on our way downstate, and it is one of the best discoveries I've ever made restaurant-wise. I were fried chicken Fannon this is the best fried chicken I've had easily in the last 15 years. Their Sunday buffet is insane. - everything is fantastic! Even as I write this review, I'm desperate to go back! It's not right on the main street, you have to go back behind some buildings to a side street. Do not let that deter you! The interior is decorated with chickens, the places fine, the Service is beyond perfect.

Love this place! Chickens everywhere. Food is really good. Known for their chicken. But I like the cod.
