Located in a charming renovated old building this location gives some extra character to the neighbourhood. We went the other day for lunch and we had great service. The food came in a timely manner and the waiter who attended us was very sweet. We order a veggie burger and some eggs Benedict. Both were very good. Apart of the cocktails we got some complementary tea that I totally want to order next time I visiting.

We are regulars at Local. The staff is great and food is always good. But this Fried Chicken Ramen dish really surprised me. I had low expectations for ramen at a hippy eatery, but it was delicious. Good flavour on the ramen, and the fried chicken was SO GOOD. So good that my son ordered just fried chicken in this style with fries. YUM.

1st: patio is pet friendly! They brought a water bowl for my dog, all staff was really friendly. I order the breakfast sandwich, amazing! It has everything you need to start your day with the right foot. I paired with a beermosa with grapefruit juice.

First time here, giving this a definite 5 across the board. I am amazed how many people work here. Besides that the food was really good the waitress (awsome hair by the way) working there new the menu and was knowledgeable with the products. I highly recommend having a few drinks and a bit to eat here. Thanks again.

Stopped for lunch during a bicycle ride. Great patio, good parking for our bikes as well. The staff here are very friendly and the food is good, all four of our meals were great. The Local Burger 🍔 was fresh and tasty and the yam fries were a nice compliment to the dish. We came on Sunday so the brunch was on til 3pm, my wife had the eggs Benny with avocado 🥑. I’d eat here again 👍

Upscale pub grub and a really good selection of craft beers and tasty cocktails. One of my go-to places in Leaside! The food always pleases, even if the portions aren’t huge. Really nice staff too!

What an awesome patio! Huge vibes going on! If you ever get the chance, definitely dine in their patio. And not just their ground floor patio, it’s gotta be the rooftop! If it’s too hot, they have an HVAC system for air conditioning and the y also have a retractable rooftop that opens and closes on the flick of a switch! Talk about skydome feel with this patio. And this isn’t the only part that impresses. The burgers we had were amazing too! All juicy, thick and saucy! And some great drinks to go alongside the meal too. Service, too notch and asked us if we needed more at all the right times! Great job overall! Definitely recommend these guys! ** reviewing latest visit -May 2023 ** Vibrant eatery hidden in the interiors of midtown. They have huge place no shortage of seating but we always fancy the patio - rooftop.. Getting to the washroom is a bit of inconvinience as its located deep down in the basement. Cheerful atmosphere and the place is always packed. Cocktails are one of the best and they also have a good collection of beers and serve seasonal local brews too. Food is average and can get better rotating menu and also more vegan/vegetarian options. Service has been up and down but just about there in general. Parking is very limited and is challenge finding every visit. We visited the Local at Vancouver location recently but prefer home base better 😊

Wow, wow, wow! This was hands down one of the best restaurant experiences we've ever had in Toronto. Everything was perfect from start to finish, from the food, to the service to the atmosphere itself. When we walked in, we were greeted by Kat, who let us try their Aperol Spritz cocktails. They were so tasty and she was so friendly with us right from the bat! We then sat down and were waited on by Sushi, who was probably one of the nicest and best servers we've ever had. She recommended dishes to us, was prompt and friendly the whole time and it was just such a great experience. We started with the shrimp dumplings and they were literally unreal. Bursting with flavour and cooked to perfection, they tasted amazing and we could have ordered loads of them! We then all tried the crispy chicken sandwich, ahi tuna bowl and chicken curry bowl between us and oh my gosh, everything was delicious. We couldn't have had a better experience and can't wait to go back! Thank you so much!! :)

We came to LOCAL Leaside during lunch time to grab a couple of drinks and some food. Overall, we had a pretty good experience, the staff was friendly and diligent, and everyone enjoyed their food. It was a nice day so, we sat on the outdoor patio on the back of the building which was great even though there was traffic and machinery noise around.

Very good experience that we didn’t expect really. Their beautiful patio was perfect enough for a sunny day. This experience completed with the tasty burger we ordered. Although they haven’t asked about the meat cooking level it was well served. The location also is very good with plenty of parking spots. Overall, we will come back for sure.

I didn't have a good start of a patio dining experience to be honest I waited at the entrance for a good amount of time and with many servers constantly walking by in front of me but no one had acknowledged my presence or let me know that someone will be helping me soon. The hostess walked right by me to greet another man behind me instead. I was a bit offended. But aside from that, the food was good. Our server was nice too. I'd return to try other dishes and hope that I won't be ignored again.

Delicious food and friendly, knowledgeable staff. There were a good amount of gluten free options and they have a dog friendly patio, which was our deciding factor, so we will be back!

Great place with an awesome upstairs patio! We had a group of 20+ and there was ample room. We only took up one area so could it probably fit 50 or more just in the patio area alone. Staff was very attentive and they let us split the bill which was convenient. Food was good and they had some kid options. I had a burger and salad. No pictures… boo-me 👻 Would definitely consider it for another big group gathering. Location is far for us though could be a good central location for some.

I’ve been coming to Local Leaside since they opened. Love this location because it’s personal and intimate compared to the downtown location. The food is incredible and the servers are the friendliest. Shoutout to the manager Evelyn for taking care of my friends and I.

I tried veggie food from the menu and found it well prepared. Staff are young, experienced, fast, and friendly. There are some limited halal options that I did not try. We set to dine in the second floor. The atmosphere is nice with natural light. Since I was a guest of an event here, I cannot comment on pricing, but my guess is that prices are above average. Need to mention washroom is in the below ground floor, which makes it difficult for elderly or people with mobility issue go there. I found this place, photography friendly, but for sure, the event's gathering gave me extra freedom to take more pictures. If I did not have a challenge for parking, I would rate here 5-star.

The food was good. I can't complain. The service was slow. All the waiter were talking to one another. As for Pub food, I think it was more than decent, I would definitely be going back for lunch.. I didn't consider this a dinner spot at all...

Great place. Always has good food, nice drink selection. I recommend trying the house lager. Diligent about checking vaccinations, no complaints.

Had an amazing experience at this place, patio was lovely. Many thanks to our server- We asked if they use vegetable oil as I couldn't eat that due to my allergies and unfortunately they do use it. But really loved the fact that she didn't give up and suggested all the items that I could safely have from the menu and suggested they can cook it in butter instead. We ordered Roti with Curry and Enchiladas - Both of it was delicious 😋

Been here 2x. First time was with my friends and the service we received was amazing, I believe it Lauren, she's so nice and very attentive. The food was great, we ordered nachos, shrimp dumpling (from what I can remember) and Korean pork bbq. It was all good. But the second time, was so so. The server was okay, and the foods aren't that nice. We had a stake, enchiladas and pinche tacos, and my husband said it seems like the sauces are canned and maybe added a bit of spices just to enhance the flavour. The steak isn't that great for its price. There are lots of bees on the day we were there.

My parents and I had lunch at this restaurant. The patio was great, but due to the rain, we dined inside, which had a nice and appropriate atmosphere. We ordered three fish and chips and tacos, that were very delicious. All the staff were friendly. The lady who helped us, Angelica, was very nice. I do recommend that everyone go to this restaurant.

It was a nice treat to spend time at a trendy resturaunt/ bar, the LOCAL Public Eatery. The patio is nice with a cool breeze and shade. The tables are set well enough apart to ensure social distancing. The table tops also have a QR code on them so they can be scanned with your phone to read the menu. This innovative feature makes it cleaner because you don't have to touch a menu that hundreds of other people have had their nasty fingers on before you. It also allows the restaurant to easily change the menu. The food at the LOCAL tasted great and delicous. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Overall it was a great experience. Really good patio. They had enough distance between the tables and no wait on a Sunday. The food was great. The shrimp dumplings were excellent. Special shoutout to their fish tacos.

This is a fantastic place in East York with a really nice rooftop patio. The rooftop patio is covered which is great in case it rains or is too sunny. We ordered the Malaysian curry bowl and the loaded crispy potatoes. Both were really tasty. The staff are also very friendly. Overall, definitely recommend.

Wanted a nice brunch before our hike and we decided to come to LOCAL Public Eatery. Very nice patio (dog friendly too!) and nice interior. We had the braised Beef and Hash and Fish taco with Yam fries. Braised beef is very flavourful but a bit on the heavy side. Fish taco is a very very nice. I am very happy to switch my regular fries to yam fries. Perfect combination! Only reason I am giving it a four stars is because where we seated had flies flying everywhere (and we were seated in door)! Not a pleasant experience to keep wiping in the air to get rid of the flies.
