I just completed my first month at Kilian Academy, and I am absolutely hooked! My first class started by being greeted by numerous members which created a very comfortable and friendly atmosphere. Everyone there is very respectful and helpful regardless of skill level. Coach Abrie Kilian is a fantastic teacher that makes sure a technique is understood, and will personally help out anyone struggling. I highly recommend Kilian Academy if you’re looking to challenge yourself, meet new friends, and get a great workout that conditions you for real life situations. I cannot wait to continue my journey at Kilian Academy!

My children and fiancé have attended Kilian Academy since August- And I can say it feels like a family. The club is a stellar place where children can truly learn in the best of environments- coach Kilian is an open-minded, truly knowledgeable and compassionate individual- an exceptional teacher who believes in the kids to achieve at their best. Coach Kilian also provides guidance to assistant coaches, fostering the same qualities that are found in his own attitudes and teaching methods in younger men, with hopes that they also can excel at the same. We also attend children’s Zumba- this class is a lot of fun and Is enjoyed even by my 4 year old. The instructor is extremely friendly and down to earth. I would recommend Kilian Academy to all whom I know because we are extremely happy with the community feeling and excellence in teaching.

Kilian Academy in Shallow Lake is an extremely family oriented facility. All of the staff have an extensive knowledge of their areas of expertise, they are highly dedicated to help you succeed with your goals and personal growth. My son is 5 and he loves being a part of this community. If you are looking for a life changing experience don’t look further, this is the place for you. The facility also offers chiropractor, nutritionist, naturopathy and they are expanding on more levels to support your wellbeing. Thank you for doing all what you do for this community!

If it were possible I would give Kilian Academy a 6/5 stars. I was in town for the summer and wanted to keep training when possible and it was one of the most accepting environments I've ever been apart of. It is hard to describe what makes their establishment so special because there are so many good things. Their facilities are beautiful, clean and host one of the largest if not the largest mats in the area, they have full changerooms, weights ,cardio and crossfit equipment. The group of people I met and trained with here I will always hold in high regard. They are some of the most kind and fun people I have trained with (off the matts, this isn't cake baking class after all).I would be doing a disservice if I didn't mention that I was only there for a little while and they pulled me aside and asked what i wanted to work on and develop a game plan for me. That is above and beyond what I expected given that I was only going to be there for a short time. They challenged me to improve on my game and I will forever hear in the back of my mind " you are being to nice Sean" and "put an exclamation point on it" while I continue my Jiu--Jitsu journey. We are so happy we came by the Kilian Acadamy and Coch Abrie, from the day we showed up everyone here has brought us in and made us feel at home and part of the team, my son (13Years) trains in Dubai at one of the top jujitsu organizations in the world and the Kilian Acadamy has matched this in so many way and even in more for his competition preperation training.This is seriously a world class organizations. So far this summer we have done 2 tournaments and recieved Gold in both, with 2 more to go before we retur and could not have done it without coach Abrie and the Kilian Acadamy. Killian achademy has one of the most welcoming atmospheres, while doing a exeptional job teaching physical and more importantly mental strength. Aubrie Killian and the achademies amazing students teach the confidence and respect to thrive in society, along with the strength and techniques to back up that confidence, in a competition or in a real word situation. This achademy has changed my mental and physical health for the better, while giving me a sport i absolutley love fighting for win or lose. So i would highly reccomend

Abrie Kilian is a fantastic mentor and a down to earth genuine person making for a welcoming training environment for beginners and for masters. The small and personal class sizes make for an engaging and encouraging environment to understand and develop your physical mental and emotional limits as well as experience a social setting unlike any other. Training at Kilian Academy has been a experience of a lifetime.

Kilian Academy is a great, positive place for kids and adults to be each week. Both my children are in the Jiu-Jitsu classes and they love them. The instructor encourages self-control, self-respect, respect for others and so much more. The Zumba and Zumba Strong classes are great as well! Kilian’s has highly skilled instructors who motivate us to do our best… fantastic! Thank you for moving to Shallow Lake :)

Kilian academy is fantastic! Abrie is an amazing coach. The academy and its students train hard. Ranking higher and higher at each tournament. The environment of being around everyone is friendly and encouraging. They are willing to learn and teach others. We've watched two blue belt demos so far this fall which have been great demonstrations of the talent that is at this academy and what can be taught. As a spectator everyone is willing to answer any questions. We have many friends who attend jiu-jitsu classes regularly and some that are going to start soon. There isn't alot in this area, so if you're looking this is the place to go! It's clean, welcoming and exactly the place you want to be. There is also kick boxing classes and zumba classes! I have adult children and grandchildren who go to this gym. While producing excellence in jiu jitsu they have also created a beautiful, close community where everyone is seen and encouraged.

Did a couple private BJJ lessons here while on vacation. I learned so much in the short amount of time. Abrie is a fantastic coach.

I try to visit this academy every time I am staying in the area. The place is very welcoming and have a great atmosphere thanks to Abrie Kilian and everyone involved. It has a generous matt space and clean and comfortable facilities. BJJ is a great sport for everyone regardless of age or gender, and I have been doing it for a long time. In my opinion the BJJ program here is excellent. It follows a curriculum which will provide the beginners with breadth and advanced players with depth of techniques. Abrie is an active competitor and experienced coach, with detailed knowledge of the art and with tools to help his students accomplish their goals through BJJ, whatever those goals are.

It would be an understatement to say that my life has been changed for the better because of my experience at Kilian Academy. Brazilian Jiu-jitsu at Kilian Academy is so much more than just physical skill, as the lessons encourage athletes to build upon their mental strength, discipline, self-confidence, and the ability to build strong relationships with other athletes. Best place for BJJ in Grey and Bruce Counties, I visit them every time I come up from the city. The facility is very well equipped for all sorts of fitness and martial arts training. Very open and welcoming, yet also competitive! Kilian Academy is the place to train in the BGOS area, whether you are just learning the fundamentals or aiming to compete. While they specialize in Gi they also welcome No-Gi grappling, with Kilian himself also a highly qualified kickboxing instructor besides his BJJ credentials.

By far the best martial arts gym I have ever trained at. Professor Abrie Kilian takes great care in his commitment to martial arts, integrity, community and to each athlete at this gym. Overwhelmingly a positive and welcoming team here

I had an amazing experience visiting this academy. The professor was very inviting and demonstrated excellent detailed techniques. His students made me feel welcome and drilling and rolling was a lot of fun. I would recommend Kilian Academy to anyone looking to learn martial arts.

Excellent facility. The sportsmanship is exemplary. The couches are well trained and knowledgeable. Will definitely enroll my son when he is old enough for classes.

I have been exposed to several martial arts clubs in the past through my own training and my child’s. No other club has a coach like Abrie who makes a connection with every athlete, both child and adult. His attention to detail and technical instruction is amazing both in the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Kickboxing classes that I have attended.
