This hotel had some solid pros and serious cons. Pros: 1. Staff was great. Specifically, Bari at the front desk. She was super nice, helpful, and welcoming. She was very informative and anticipated our needs.. She is a great asset to this hotel. 2. The location is okay and has cons too. A variety of stores and restaurants are within walking distance. There are even vegan/vegetarian spots close by. This made it easy to get lunch and dinner. 3. The shower head and water pressure was great. The bathroom was clean. 4. T.V. was nice with numerous channels. 5. For breakfast the omelettes are very good and the fruit was fresh. The waitress was really nice. Cons: 1. Dark wallpaper and dimly lit made the room uninviting. 2. There were a lot of stains throughout the room. They were located on the walls, chairs, and face towels. One stain in particular on the lampshade was especially concerning. 3. The wallpaper was peeling and splitting. 4. The carpet was dirty. 5. The entertainment stand door that opened to the mini fridge had to be bent back to be able to open the mini fridge. Poor functionality. 6.The room door had so many layers of paint that it was difficult and noisy to open and shut. I found myself having to slam it to be able to lock it. 7. There was no place to get ice or water on the floor. Only a water fountain on the first floor. 8. Every day you are charged for parking, which is absurd when at any other hotel you would park for free. 9. The rest of the breakfast was unsatisfactory. The coffee was undrinkable. 10. The carpet throughout the hotel reminded me of The Shining. The elevator had this weird old wallpaper view of the city. Definitely could be updated. 11. The beds were not comfortable. I woke up feeling aches, sore, and unrested. Overall, the staff are what makes and saves this place. Please renovate and update this place! It has potential!

I would like to express how disappointed I am with the overall stay at your hotel, got in last night, after checking in went to the room they gave me and someone else's belongings were in there, then went back downstairs to get another room and checked into room #554, wasn't cleaned thoroughly at all, hair was in bathroom, ants in bathroom, using the showering it was extremely slippery were my son almost fell, dust on lamps and overall smell in room, upon checking out the lady at the front looked to be the only one working and said just drop the keys in the box as she was on the phone. Very dismissive to say the least. Overall poor cleanliness. The unfortunate thing is I should have looked at the reviews, and seems like management makes the generic response and doesn’t do anything to address it, this hotel wasn’t worth the amount I paid at all. Overall dirty and old, stay away from this location!!!!

Cons: the staff was not welcoming when you arrive, The pool was down which made me no longer want to stay. Amenities are a big part of how I choose my hotels. Location is great minus parking being limited and valet costing an additional $20 a day. Breakfast $17. Room could use better lighting and cleaning. Housekeeping and staff were rude. Pros: location, warm cookies daily, Comfortable bedding and furnishings. Clean tubs and showers, Atm located inside as well as A full lounge.

We stayed here with a large group for for my daughters lacrosse tournament. I was extremely unhappy with the hotel’s cleanliness The front desk staff was friendly. They couldn’t issue me a key initially and they said they were going to bring it to me but never did. Several hours later I went to the front desk and got it. The room was filthy. The bathroom walls had stuff smeared all over them and the floors around the vanity looked like they weren’t cleaned since the hotel opened. I actually showered with flip flops on. The toilet barely flushed and the sink was clogged. It was freezing in the room and the temperature controls didn’t work. I think the icing on the cake was the male staff member that spit on the carpet. Disgusting, I would never stay here again and not sure if I would even stay at another Hilton hotel if this is the level of cleanliness they uphold to. So disappointed.

The hotel is old and it would be OK if it's clean. Unfortunately, it's not the case. The white curtains became grey, the sheets are old and I doubt they were changed, there were some hairs on it. The hot breakfast is available for a fee. The bacon was crispy and fried to perfection. The potatoes were soaked in steam water, rather than fried. The staff was friendly and greets you with a cookie made in VA, but they are keeping it warm at reception desk and say it's still warm straight from oven. The parking is accessible via stairs or elevator from the lobby.

Older hotel, city ran parking doesn’t accept Amex. Use elevator at your own risk. Coffee pot in the room doesn’t work and runs over. Hotel breakfast is fantastic but don’t try to use room service as they don’t answer. Parking is cheaper through city than hotel. Can’t use the Hilton Amex to pay. Call ahead for hospital rate as front desk doesn’t know about it. Hilton diamond member review

Worst Hilton experience ever. Only 2 of the staff showed any forms of customer service. Everyone else had attitudes and didn't seem to want to be helpful. The person who delivered my room service had an attitude because u didn't answer the door right away. I still tipped her $10 because I hoped it might help her have a better day. She didn't give me condiments or flatware, so I still had to leave the room to go get that which meant my food was getting cold. Not to mention it took over an hour to get to me after I ordered it. Guy at the desk had an attitude when I was asking him for something to eat my breakfast with. Only thing that made me feel like I was in a Hilton was the bed and the omelet I had in the restaurant before I left. Other than thar I felt like I could have stayed better in a motel!

The front desk staff, Alicia, was welcoming and helpful. The staff at the restaurant while slammed with customers was attentive. Room was comfortable and breakfast was tasty. We would return.

In general, the hotel was pretty nice. The building and rooms were clean, however there just seemed to be a lot of things missing from the hotel in general that just seemed weird. I'll go over the pros and cons real quick. Pros: Rooms and the general areas of the hotel were clean. Staff and service were friendly. Food was decent quality and not horribly overpriced. Its immediate area is generally nice and there is a lot of things in short walking distance. Cons: No microwaves in the room, this was just downright confusing to me. Why??? The breakfast buffet is $15 per person for non diamond members, a little spendy for what you get. No pool, even though it was advertised. I could see a pool on the signs but it looks like it was scrubbed from the map, the pool room has a bike lock in the door handles. Seems a bit more than just OOS. No guest laundry. Now this is somewhat of a serious issue. The nearest laundromat is 1.5 miles away in a somewhat questionable location. For those that arrived by the train like myself, walking there alone could make you at risk of being robbed, or worse. As someone who worked in the hotel industry for Hilton for over 4 years, and with every other Hilton owned hotel I've been having a guest laundry, finding out this one lacked it surprised me. Please fix this!

This is dangerous location, all homeless people around the hotel. We stayed in this hotel for 9 days and below review summaries our stay. This hotel left us thoroughly disappointed – it's aged, unclean, and permeated with a pervasive cigarette stench. Numerous rooms reek of smoke, and even the elevators aren't spared from the unpleasant odor. Basic amenities like bathroom tubs and doorknobs are broken, creating an uncomfortable stay. On our first day, we reported a smoking smell in the bathroom, only to be met with a ludicrous accusation that we might have tampered with the smoke detector. The staff's handling of the situation was both unprofessional and absurd. We were told that we can use executive launge room for snacks and drinks etc. But we tried going to that room 4 to 5 days straight and it doesn't work, front desk says sorry 😐. The staff's demeanor was equally subpar. During dinner at the hotel, our server seemed more engrossed in her phone than attending to our needs. Multiple attempts to get her attention were futile, highlighting a lack of responsiveness and customer service. However, amidst this disappointing experience, the saving grace was the commendable service provided by the ladies managing breakfast at Metro Cafe. They demonstrated genuine care for the guests, standing out in stark contrast to the overall disheartening state of the hotel.

Not the newest hotel in town but still nice. The hotel is quiet and the rooms are a nice size for a few nights. They have an executive floor and do some nice things for their Dimond folks. We call this place the cookie hotel. They did offer a chocolate chip cookie upon check-in. This place has comfy beds. Best I've slept on in a while. Breakfast was typical. They have a buffet. It's good enough. Parking was convenient. Right around the corner with an entrance right into the hotel. Don't forget to ask for the discount parking for $10. The location is manned, so it's a bit secure. In all, this place was not bad for a few nights. It seemed like most people that I intermingled with on this trip weren't very welcoming. The hotel was no different. Is it me? Don't get me wrong. I did meet some nice folks. It's just that not everybody was nice. My impression. Anyway, the hotel was OK.

Just stayed at this hotel and found it to be terrible shabby and not well maintained. The rooms needs better cleaning. The front desk staff were nice when I checked in and it was nice to have access to free snacks at the executive lounge, but the hotel is in need of some TLC, deep cleaning, and renovation.

I called to see about booking about a room for the weekend to come intown to a family event. Alisha answered the phone and answered all my questions and was extremely professional. I will be sure to book here because I was very pleased with her professionalism and willingness to help make sure my stay would be superior. Best experience I had being a hilton honors member with customer service so far.

The staff was nice, but it is an older hotel and the carpet and wallpaper are grungy. Our room overlooked the indoor pool, which was drained and the whole pool room was being used for storage, which didn’t bother me, but our room wreaked of chlorine from the pool room. There was no continental breakfast, although an employee said there was. And there is no free parking. This makes for a pricy stay, and isn’t what you would typically expect from a Doubletree.

I stayed one night at yhe Double Tree Legal Dostrict while in town for a show at The Queen Theater. The proximity to the theater and because I am an Honors member is why I chose this hotel. The hotel is spacious, the rooms are a good size, and the bedding is wonderful, especially the pillows. The hotel itself could use some major updates. The decor was obviously chosen in the early 2000's and everything is in need of a refresh. The paint colors, purple and gold, the fixtures, the furniture, are all outdated. This wouldn't bother me if the room wasn't close to $300 on a weekend night in a business town. I ordered room service and the food was fantastic. NY strip with truffle butter, grilled asparagus, and mascarpone mashed potatoes were delicious. The price for the entree was $26, a great value for the quality and quantity of food! The sunset view from my room was wonderful but once the sun went down I found the lighting in the room to be insufficient. If you're planning to apply makeup while there bring a light! The bathroom had zero ventilation, no fan, and no vent for heat or ac. I can imagine this could be problematic in the extreme winter or summer. The staff and their friendliness were the true highlights of the trip though!

Stayed for two nights, with a complementary room upgrade and access to the executive lounge thanks to Diamond status. Meeting staff member James on the evening he was in charge of the lounge was undoubtedly the highlight of the stay. He was such a welcoming light to us and the other guests. We stayed well past closing time deep in discussion, and if ever back in the area I’d stay there again just to hang out with him again. As far as the rest of the hotel - seems like they’re aware of updates that need to be made and are working at it.

The rooms were very clean. The front desk staff was awesome. The cleaning staff was so helpful and respectful. Overall, I have only stayed at one Doubletree that was better. One suggestion, add microwaves to the room s.
