Horrible customer service. They do not appreciate customers. We came in an hour before closing, we thought to run in to order 2 drinks before we hit the road. We were thinking to stop at a Starbucks but instead wanted to give this small business a chance. The employees rolled their eyes at us and became annoyed. I was shocked.

Fun coffee shop, nice to have places that are pet friendly. Very close to all the cool shops and an American icon, the USS North Carolina, keeping us well defended. Great coffee, fun staff.

This has been one of my favorite coffee houses for a long time. Located in the Cotton Exchange building on Front street. The coffee and the service is excellent. The blended Frappuccinos are so good it is like a delicious dessert in a cup. Lol. Their Frappuccinos are my favorite as of now 10/12/23. Most recently I got an Iced sugar free vanilla Latte and it was also excellent but not my favorite in Wilmington. They also sell some local pastries, coffee beans and merch. There is a LOT of coffee house competition in downtown and all through out Wilmington. This is one of the best and has been here before a lot of the new comers. If you are visiting the area this is a must try. Grab a coffee and check out the other shops in the Cotton Exchange. If you live in the area and you have not tried the Java Dog you are slippin.

I enjoy a job a dog quite a bit. The people in the ambience is really nice and playful. There are toys everywhere. Not for kids to play with but mostly from the past. Like being in a toy museum. The upstairs and downstairs is a nice touch. The outdoor seating is really cool.

An iconic coffee shop right in the heart of Wilmington. I love grabbing a cup of joe before walking around downtown. They have iced and hot coffee and just about every variation you can think of. I love they have different flavors of the day for you to enjoy. The prices are great and the service is always super friendly and welcoming. There is space inside, in the cotton exchange and outside to sit at.

So this was my first time going here yesterday I'm big into coffee! And there was two woman behind the counter who kept looking at me (super uncomfortable feeling) So when I finally get to order my coffee the girl behind the counter taking the orders was RUDE..I did NOT feel welcome at all. The coffee was good and was the best part of the entire experience there.

Delicious coffee and pastries, and you can buy whole bean or ground coffee to take home. Dog friendly. I stop in every time I'm downtown.

Stopped in to grab a caffeinated brew and loved the service and the mocha latte (better the Starbucks even). Nice greeting, very helpful, and the chocolate muffin is decadently delicious!

This coffee shop is in a great location in Wilmington. Not too far from Cape Fear Community College and it’s located within the Cotton Exchange. The service here is quick and their coffee beverages are great.

Been coming here for years and it never disappoints. Love the atmosphere, all the little figurines are so cool(especially all the Star Wars one). Coffee is delicious and I love that my pups can enjoy too!

My go to coffee shop when I’m downtown. The staff is always amazing and friendly. They have a special coffee of the day that varies by day and is typically appropriate for the season. My favorite ones are during the fall, but they are great selections year round. The best part is the little sticker with which they cover the hole in the lid. I definitely recommend going here for coffee, tea, espresso drinks, or a baked treat.

Absolutely adore this little coffee shop! The pricing was great for items (A Bourbon latte and bagel with cheddar horseradish cream cheese was around $8). The atmosphere is relaxed with various seating options inside and out. I love that you can bring your pup in to grab some coffee, and they also get a doggie treat too! The employees were also kind and helpful and were able to get orders out quickly! Definitely a go to spot!

Stopped in for coffee one Friday mid morning. It was pretty busy when we first got there but slowed down after we received our drinks. The downstairs is fairly small and got cramped when everyone was in the ordering line, but there is an upstairs area for sitting that was great for getting some work done. The drinks we ordered were good, and pricing was on par with other coffee shops in town. Multiple customers brought their dogs in with them, which was cool to see. The only downside was the temperature inside. I don't know if it's always as warm as it was, but it is in an old historic building downtown so that's not that unusual. Overall this was a positive experience though and a place worth visiting!

Fantastic service and great coffee. Cold brew was excellent and had a slice of pound cake which took me back to childhood. Large selection of syrups for your custom coffee concoction.

Love this little coffee shop! I went in the other day and had Mataya and I think Andrea and they were the sweetest. I didn’t know what to order, so they suggested a coconut lavender latte and it was AMAZING! 10/10 will be back and bring the pups next time!!

We stopped in this last Saturday while out shopping and I'm so glad we did. The coffee here is fantastic and the staff so friendly and helpful! Since it was after 2pm in the day I asked if they could make one of the drinks decaff for me and they were happy to do so and it was delicious! Thank you Java Dog!

Another "Escape the Interstate" but more of a coffee break during a conference review of a local place Java Dog. 5 stars for sure, tucked into a quaint historical building with other fun shops. Great espresso machine pulls the perfect shots. Full bodied Americano with caramel and oatmilk for a lovely caffeinated morning. I have a busy day at a well needed conference I am attending to ban PFAS that has contaminated communities across the US at the the local community College. This is a lovely town 😀
