We stopped on our way to Weymouth. Lovely space, several walks through the arboretum. Also a deer viewing platform. Walking not flat, but otherwise easy.

North walls recreation park is quite a pleasant area. You can walk in several directions in green and pleasant surroundings it is a sports ground, so expect football, rugby or cricket games being played depending what time of the year you visit. There is direct access to Winnal Moors wild life reserve, or a walk into Winchester town centre or you can take a much longer walk into Kings Sombourn. Other than that, the river Itchen runs through the park, so lots of ducks, swans etc. A large car park but in common with many open spaces today - there are no toilet facilities, which I think is outrageous for a large and well used public space. As of today (11/07/23) I am so pleased to say that there is a brand new toilet block and is situated along by the children's playground which has also been completely upgraded. Well done Winchester Council, long overdue but you did it.

We came here for the Chilli and Cheese festival. Lovely walk around the park with a very nice small river running through which is populated with ducks. It was very busy when we went and the bins were over flowing. I would imagine this isn't the norm for the park but because of the influx for the festival it wasn't at its best. Would highly recommend.

Ok a bit boring at first & also not happy that we paid a lot of money for our tickets in the so called Black Friday which the discount code wasn't working that morning & we didn't get a refund for + found out the company was selling tickets for NHS staff for £6 at a later date not happy about that also when we arrived to see that people were sat outside the arena who were watching it for free 🤷 only high light was a fight between a man & a woman while Madness Tribute were playing. Also not happy that Queen tribute had to finish early because of thunder storms which there wasn't any. Doubt if I'll be paying again

Great place for events and festivals . Surrounded by the old recreation centre which is still abandoned by the local council but otherwise a nice spot . Holds a cricket and football pitch and tennis courts , a nice riverside with ducks and swans . Nice walking areas for dogs and children's playground.

30 Acres of greenery and water, there is the meandering chalk stream that is the River Ichen; Tennis; the occasional festival; Bowls; Skate park; all weather sports pitch and Cricket on the weekend (in the Summer), and if non of that floats your boat, then just enjoy the sceenery, it's a great place for a walk or a picnic, if you have a four legged friend they will be sure to thank you. Cross the bridge, and you're in the "Winnalll Moors Nature Reserve" (alas no dogs allowed). There is the Rugby club at the far end of the Rec'. And the remains of what was the old Swimming and leisure park now in a sad state, but look beyond this eyesore and the way the Council has mismanaged the whole affair. Unfortunately, there are no refreshments available, so bring your own... especially water, and just enjoy.

Nice maintained geouds, spacious. Ground belong to former Winchester leisure centre. It's has since closed, so no facilities are available nearby..no toilet for little ones etc. Basically a good place to run around with the dog, walks, bike rides with kids, and picnics without bathroom breaks.
