Extremely poor customer service. After complaining about our food being too salty and burn, the cook got mad. When manager arrived, he said to put too much sauce to our food even we haven’t touched it. Please avoid this place if you are looking to have great time!

Used to come here years ago, special occasions with the kids as the food was good, and the preparation fun to watch. Thought it would be a fun change up. Has changed a lot! First thing that caught my eye were were big handwritten signs that say “18% gratuity will be applied for parties of 4 or more”. Hmm… since automatic gratuities are considered a service charge, not a tip, this always come off as a “slight-of-hand” way to subtlety charge more without just raising the prices on the menu. Most people assume this is an automatic tip…it is not…it is a service fee! Also, most decent restaurants might do this for large parties as it takes a lot more people to properly take care of a large party. 1st time I have ever seen this for parties of 4, and no, we didn’t get any better service. Big turn off. Second thing that struck me as weird was the ambience. The interior is now a few hibachi style grills surrounded by normal restaurant tables. There were even patrons sitting at the hibachi grills not getting hibachi, just ordering off the menu. Also the dining room is also now a carry out delivery room, with a big cooler for drinks, and people walking back and forth with takeout bags that were being prepared and lined up in the same room where you are dining. Felt like being in somebody’s garage that they had converted to a cheap diner..which is also emphasized by the mismatched cheap diner silverware. Ordered beer which we got, but no glasses. A bit tacky, until I reflected in the garage like ambience, so drinking straight out of bottles and cans fit right in. I did ask for a glass, they brought a beer mug…! Also no water offered, had to ask. My wife ordered a glass of wine, cheap quality, but high price… The food I remember has changed quite a bit. What once was miso soup is now a clear broth soup with one slice of mushroom. Very flavorful, but more than likely, much cheaper to prepare. The fried rice is an extra, otherwise you get just a bowl of plain white rice. You also used to get fresh bean sprouts on the grill, now it is very greasy soba noodles. Fresh grilled vegetables are also part of the meal, but too much oil detracted from the flavor. The chef and grill preparation were as they used to be, fun to watch and entertaining. Only thing was off was lots of oil was used in all the food preparation, and sauces were slathered on everything including the rice. Even the scallops were covered in a sauce. This again was odd, as fresh grilled scallops are great on their own, and you want that fresh grilled flavor. Not here, as they slather them in sauce. The hibachi steak was the only thing I enjoyed, and it was cooked perfectly. Overall the food tasted generally as if it were fast food Chinese takeout, very greasy and tasted pretty much the same no matter what you were eating. It was greasy…I mean really, really greasy! In the end (with the 18% automatic gratuity) it ran about $50 per person for the hibachi meal. Pricey, could have gone to a nicer restaurant with better atmosphere with better food for the same price. Would I go there again…absolutely not! Would I recommend…absolutely not! (If you want very greasy Chinese food, you can just go a few doors down and get it at a fraction of the price. If you do want true Japanese style hibachi experience, drive into the Dulles area and go to Benihanas. Might be a little pricier, but you will enjoy the experience and food much better.)

Ichiban has by far the best Hibachi tables I have EVER been to. Our Chef was a very talented cook and you definitely didn't leave hungry.. Their sushi is also very delicious. A 10 out of 10 for me.

Awesome experience. Was my daughter's birthday & they made her feel extra special by singing to her & bringing her a piece of cheese cake that we didn't even set up with them! They didn't even charge us for the cake. We would go there again!

This food was so nasty. I did carry out and the filet was burned and some pieces were still red in the middle. The salad tasted watered down. The white sauce is disgusting. Will never order from here again. I ordered my filet well done. They are not cooking the food right in back.

I had a good visit and went for 1/2 sushi tonight. You MUST order a drink, water doesn't count, to get 1/2 sushi. I ordered spicy california rolls, tempura spicy tuna (it was okay, personally wouldn't get it again), gyoza dumplings (they are fried not steamed), and a boston roll. Overall, the service was phenomenal, thanks to Erica!

I've been coming here for almost 30 years. I was very disappointed in the service, cleanliness, and music selection on my last visit. Im hoping this was a fluke. Restrooms are in need of repair and cleaning. My server hardly made an appearance until I was ready for my bill. On a good note, the food was delicious as always.

I’ve been here many times the 1st being the very best time a little over a year ago. The last 2 times were not the best. We sat and watched the other tables having fun and the cooks being funny throwing shrimp and we didn’t get that. Last time we went 2 days ago was terrible the cook had no care in the world whatsoever he didn’t do the onion train didn’t throw shrimp barley spoke and to make it worse he split meals with the kids when they had their own meals. I’ve tried calling with no answer so I decided to write a review. The food was decent the yum yum sauce tasted more like honey mustard even the people we sat with said the same thing… all in all we won’t be back mistakes happen but this is just 1 to many times and to be spending $200 with a automatic tip because I had 2 children and 1 infant with me ( they considered him a person and 4 or more they add the tip and no he didn’t eat ) just isn’t worth it if we aren’t enjoying or having fun.

Excellent quality food, great staff, fantastic atmosphere, and, of course, the whole reason for going here, outstanding chefs who put on a amazing show! Pricy, but completely in line with this type of restaurant.

Fantastic experience! The chefs were funny and really interactive with the group. Definitely recommend for groups (big tables seat 8).

Husband and had a dinner out. We used to come here when first opened and would occasionally stop in maybe so often. Has been a good year since back and have to say disappointing. The atmosphere looked run down and unloved. Far cry from what it used to be. The chef was entertaining, and food was ehh not wonderful, not bad. Was not overly flavored. I ordered Filet and shrimp, husband steak, and scallops. He enjoyed his scallops. We ordered sushi, thank goodness not as much as we usually would. I got my unagi as usual. Was okay. Not spectacular. It sat on sushi pass more than with us. If that is any indication about how our server was. As for service, if I could give zero , I would. Alexii, which we only found out by asking another server her name and obviously on the bill, was well, shall I just say if we were on her phone, we would have had her attention. Having a missing server was not the enviting welcomed feeling you expect when dining out. In today's hard economic times, you like to have a friendly face. Not the case here. We got our to go boxes from the server we asked who our server was. Will I be back? It's doubtful, not in these economic times not worth hard earned money.

We enjoy the food here, the atmosphere is so much less than it used to be though. It used to be a hustling family-friendly and night out friendly all around place, very upbeat. They did great on the food and all interactions were pleasant. Still a good choice.

Ichiban half price carry out Sushi (weekdays) is a good deal! See pic below. You have to buy a drink per order of 4 rolls, but that’s not a problem!!! The sushi is fresh and good! I would be hesitant about dining in — the front entrance seems a little sketchy, and the quarters inside seemed and felt tight and close with little air circulation inside. No dining in for me during covid tines. Workers were masked, patrons were not. Marilyn Mon Rolls, Sweet Love Rolls, and rainbow rolls were all VERY GOOD!

whomever gave this place five stars has never had quality food or service. the first time i went here it was 70$ for two hibachi customers to get heavily sauced unfresh food. I went again today for some quick sushi carry out. They made a gentleman sit on the other side of the bar with the non working TV because the other bar is for “take out orders”, unacceptable. My sushi was fairly priced and edible but there was a hair in my roll i had to pull out and was given a luke warm canned soda 😂 money and management problems are obvious in this establishment and think any esteemed restaurant owner would lose their mind in this establishment.

Place was busy, service and food were great! Drinks are way overpriced and not worth it, two people can share a meal for one. Lots of food & good but overpriced.

I can't comment on the hibachi, but the sushi is good and decently priced, especially Tuesday-Thursday when it's half off with a drink purchase. Inside the decor leaves a little be desired as the age of the restaurant is quite obvious. My only real complaint is the wait staff, who seem to be disorganized and can take a while to return to your table.

Same "show" from my last visit a few years ago. Food was okay. But heavily drenched in suaces. Let your fresh food stand on its own.

Not quite what I expected. I received a soup & salad. The soup was bitter & the salad was JUST lettuce🤣 The "fried" rice was just regular white rice, the veggies were really bland & they gave me wayyyy more chicken than Filet Mignon. The ginger sauce is not good, but the white sauce was delicious. Way too pricey for what we got.
