Happy New Years. We woke up and wanted to get a great breakfast to start the New Years. We decided to give this place a try. This is one of the best kept secrets in San Antonio. They are a non profit that accepts donations so when you don’t see no prices on the menu don’t be alarmed. The staff here is exceptional especially Blake. This restaurant is built on help people and they are some of the best cooks you’ll ever find in any fine dinning restaurant. Remember this when your ordering a meal it’s big enough to feed at least 2-3 individuals. It was a great experience and fabulous environment. If your looking for a place to eat with some great food. This is the place to go.

This was a unique, but interesting, experience. There are no prices here. They recommend around $15 per plate, but there are no hard rules. This is a nonprofit that supports a rehabilitation center, so what you pay directly supports the center. However, the food is simply fantastic. This stuff stands on its own, even without the added knowledge of what you're supporting. The flavors were amazing, and the portions were MUCH larger than anything you'd get at a restaurant chain. And it's nestled in the middle of Salado park, with its trails and wonderful scenery. I honestly can't recommend this place enough.

Been here several times and have never been disappointed. Food is so delicious, you won't regret it. I highly recommend the stuffed crepes (my favorite), but everything is a joy. The amount of food you get is generous and the staff is helpful. The place has no set prices, you gives what you feel is fair, but they recommend around $15 a plate. All the proceeds go to helping the program that helps recovering addicts become productive members of society. If you go once, you will come back again.

Our family went here for lunch (some of us got a late breakfast which they serve all day), the food is amazing!! Highly recommend this place! No prices on the menu, you "pay what you can" as the proceeds go back to their charity. They kindly suggest a donation of $15 per entree, and the food is totally worth it. Very generous portions. We will be back!

This place is awesome! Amazing food while supporting a great nonprofit? Count me in! We had the weekly special Cinnamon Toast Crunch Pancakes. They were amazing. Everyone was so friendly. I would recommend getting on the waitlist on Yelp to avoid a long wait. Will definitely be coming back!

I wanted so bad to love this place. I found out what they do for charity and made my husband drive an hour out of the way. The area is beautiful. The estimated wait time was an hour to an hour and a half, but there is a separate coffee bar. It took 30-45 minutes just to get our coffee. But, the poor guy working the coffee bar was by himself and slammed. So we tipped him generously. There are card games upstairs to play. We waited 2 hours for a table. Our server was very busy but super nice and attentive. The staff is all volunteers. So we tipped a lot. You pay what you want but they suggest $15 a plate. They only take cash or check but have an ATM upstairs. The food tasted great but we found a piece of plastic in our food. If you go do not go on a weekend and inspect your food.

This place is amazing and the team is even more-so! Food is high quality, delicious, and super fresh!! Be sure to make a reservation on Yelp at least like 2-3 hours early just to be sure! You'll have the easiest time that way cause parking can also be a pain. There's a little cafe right there too called Olla Express where we waited but Comfort Cafe also has great coffee!

The menu does not have prices because it’s a non profit restaurant, so you pay what you want but it’s recommended $15-20 per item. Love this concept! Be prepared to pay cash only (there is an ATM on the 2nd floor). The restaurant itself and surrounding area is so cute. Workers were pretty friendly although my server could have been more attentive. The food was really good! I recommend the rise and shine.

I have been wanting to try Comfort Cafe for at least 2 years but the stars never aligned until today. It was so worth the wait. We got in line on Yelp, arrived in time to enjoy chai tea and Vietnamese iced coffee over a serious game of Yahtzee! I won 🙂 When we got to our table, Blake was our server. We were blessed with the best. His story moved me to tears. The team's determination, serenity, and grace filled the restaurant The food was absolutely amazing. Hopefully these pics will do the flavor justice. We cannot wait to return.

Comfort Cafe San Antonio is by far one of the best experiences I’ve had eating anywhere. The history and story behind what makes this place special hit me right in the feels. Looking around, all the guests seemed happy and friendly to the servers and patrons alike. On top of that…….the food was incredible! The portion sizes served were Texas approved. We also visited the gift shop upstairs. Lots of cool things to buy there. Love love love this place.

I found out you can check in online, so we walked the trail and checked in before we got there. There is a small toy kitchen upstairs for the kids to play with while we wait. The servers are fast and friendly, very knowledgeable about the food and choices. The food itself is amazing. Texas sized portions, and so delicious. Will definitely be going back!

Food is always great here. We got on the wait list on Yelp but unfortunately still waited over 30 minutes past the expected time (understandable) just prepare for that. Food is by donation ($15 recommended pee dish). This supports folks working there that have or are recovering from something, so some of the servers may be slow or inexperienced but all are very loving and hard working. We sat outside with our service dog. I got the Special Nutela Strawberry stuffed waffles!

Honestly , I enjoy going out and eating...I've been to different restaurants but this one here...is in a class of its own! If I could give them more than a 5 star....I would! It is most definitely I place I will continue to come back to and....I LOVE THE FACT THAT THEY ARE GIVING BACK AND HELPING THE COMMUNITY. MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOU. 10-28-23 Update: was there yesterday....went back today with my family. Wife had the waffles, I had corned beef hash, and daughter had the huevos rancheros. I WILL TRY EVERYTHING ON THIS MENU...I WILL BE BACK. LOVE THIS PLACE. May GOD continue to provide for all of you and open more doors. GOD BLESS YOU

The food is really good. I definitely enjoyed the English crepes and the thick bacon. They have a fairly big menu with lots of options. I will definitely eat here again. Make sure you join the waitlist on Yelp because this place is always packed. The earlier you go the shorter your wait time. Also, they only accept cash or checks.

Found a place to have a breakfast date with my soldier! The place is nice and green and all comfy. The food especially the waffles special, IT WAS AMAZING! Our server was great and helped us throughout. Explained in detail the specials, the menu, and about their community. The restaurant has a kids area where kids can play while waiting for food or when they get bored (will bring our little one next time). We are so going back here! Highly recommend this.

I wanted to give the atmosphere 4 stars because the music was pretty loud, but decided to stick with 5 stars. This place was great! They were pretty busy and I know why. The food was amazing!!! Everyone at my table enjoyed their meal. Every plate that I saw coming from the kitchen looked phenomenal!!! I could see the steam coming off the food. Our server was JC, and she was awesome. I will definitely be returning.

One of the best breakfast spots that I have encountered in a long time. Long wait but well worth it. Recommend getting on the wait list in advance. The food, service, ambiance and cause are so amazing. Defined give this 5 stars!! I went 2 weekends in a row and trying to make it back this weekend.
