This was a pub in Windsor based right by the river a train station and being a Saturday there was alot of parking and we only paid £5 for the day. The Boatman was quite careful of the fact that we had all just come out of restrictions. The food was excellent the service was good. We ordered drinks followed by olives and two types of Salad. This was followed by steak chips and lamb with mashed potatoes and beans. On the whole loved it.

Lovely experience at the boatman. Outdoor dining is spacious and well kept! The staff are lovely and attentive, food is reasonably priced. I forgot to take a photo of the food as it looked and smelt so good I just dig in! But I can vouch that it was very tasty! I had the lamb chops and chips which were perfectly done! And my friend had the shredded duck salad which was just amazing!

Windsor's only riverside pub and a quality place it is! The setting is a delight, decent drinks selection and amazing food served in a lovely glazed dedicated restaurant annex to the main pub. The pub has a good atmosphere, decor is excellent & staff very welcoming & friendly. Outstanding & highly recommended!

I've had worse roast dinners out but was bland. Could see mustard on carrots and season on potatoes but couldn't taste it. Nice amount of gravy and Yorkshire was good. Lovely location, just away from tourist heavy spot right on river. Paying for location in my opinion, not worth the price but as I said, I've had worse for more money. Had a nice vibe but tables are limited to 2 hours which is a shame.

Lovely food, service was good and the al fresco dining was perfect. Stunning views of the Thames and the only oub in Windsor on the river.

A lovely place right on the river. Offers riverside dining on the outdoor terrace. Best to request a riverside table when booking in advance though. Had a great menu selection. With enough choices to suit all tastes. Offers a children's menu too. Highlight for me was the lamb shank, meat was succulently tender, with creamy mash and a full flavoured gravy

I have a pet hate about noise at restaurants - the Boatman had a vibrant atmosphere just a bit too noisy. That's just me. The lamb shoulder was exceptional. Location unbeatable. Reasonable price relatively speaking

Beautifully set on the Thames, this establishment clearly profits from the tourists but without compromising in the kitchen. The battered haddock with chips and peas came quickly and was suitably accompanied by vinegar and sauces. The view alone will justify a visit either to get a light meal or spending a summer evening with a drink of wine or beer. Polite and quick service with a smile.

Lovely place on the Thames at Windsor. Been a few times when we have a day in Windsor, nice place, friendly staff and a good pint of Guinness. Will be back, maybe to dine in next time, not tried the food here but it looks lovely

Great location by the river for lunch. Recommend the Italian meat and cheeseboard starter. Burger & Chips OK, nothing special. Burger thin and dry. :(

A lovely place to dine with friends and family either outside or inside the pub. The added bonus of eating outside allows you to dine beside the River Thames in Windsor with the backdrop of Windsor Castle. There is an exclusive area for larger groups in a glass faceted room that also exploits the views of the River Thames and the backdrop of Windsor Castle ideal for rainy, cold days. Overall the food is exquisite. Drinks and food are reasonably priced for the area. If you are looking for quality, tasty food this is an ideal place to feast on mouth watering food. This place comes highly recommended and if you are a foodie who enjoys food at its very best then this is definitely the place to come for a bite to eat. Plan ahead as bookings are a must so that you are not disappointed. Make sure you get the best seat outside to enjoy those views as you eat and drink.

This place was lovely from the staff to the food and service. We arrived and was seated. We asked could we move if possible inside (would have been lovely to sit by the canal but our 4 year old daughter was getting cold) and the gentleman sorted it no problem. The staff manager I think the lady was called Denisa I'm not 100% was our waitress and she was brilliant and catered for our daughter making it fun for her. Would highly recommend this place and would visit again without a doubt if in the area again. Thanks

Great location, fantastic food (Eton Mess is a must!) - lovely to sit by the river and watch the world go by. Service very good and friendly.

Lovely place. Difficult parking. Dishes appear to be of good quality but be careful as it seems that produce isn't checked before cooking and serving. Can be noisy. Lovely views of river.

Amazing place. Booked last minute for my birthday while on holiday in Wimdsor, and was not disappointed. Food was amazing, staff were very attentive although busy. Couldn't have made a better choice!

Went for a Christmas Dinner here yesterday. Although a pub, the venue is heavily tilted toward being a restaurant. Staff were polite and attentive. Interior well maintained with clean toilets. There was a bit of a wait for service to start, but we were a large party, so that's to be expected to a point. As for the meal, it was above average. Served hot and well presented. The Brussels Sprouts were delivered in a separate sharing bowl - good idea for haters! All the usual trimmings with the notable exception of cranberry sauce which was a bit odd. If I had to criticise, I am not a fan of having my entire meal pre-drenched in gravy. This wasn't helped by the gravy being heavily over-seasoned which smothered the taste of the meal. A friend opted for the beef, and this was tough and of poor quality. Not bad, all in all. I'd go again in the summer.

This is really well situated and has tons of space so ideal for big groups! I will say it's fairly obvious the focus isn't on the food. The bread wasn't fresh, clearly reheated and there may be too many items on the menu, diluting the quality. Available vegetarian dishes.

Big pub by the river with large outdoor area: mostly under a tent though there is a terrace too. Ideal spot is to get a table by the river for the views and for that you have to book in advance on weekends and be specific on sitting on the outside terrace. Food is below average. Beef burger was so dry and tasted bland. Fish and chips was over fried. Duck salad did not taste fresh. Pick this place for the terrace views but brace yourself for the food.

We were so deeply disappointed with our experience at this place. We quite genuinely had a MUCH better meal at Nando's the day before. After reading reviews we were really looking forward to our meal. We arrived late on a Sunday and they had run out of roast, which is understandable. We ordered other food, all of which was extremely disappointing. The worst was the "gourmet burger" which was quite literally a burger bun with a well done burger inside (we were not asked how we would like it cooked). No condiments, nothing on top for 16 pounds.

Yesterday, lovely dinner with my husband by the river. In the pictures “Mediterranean Sea Bass” and “Tiramisù”, the fish - particularly - very fresh and tasty..we really enjoyed! I would have given easily 5 stars but sadly the toilets lowered the score (all of them were quite dirty).

It was busy on my visit. I had roast pork which was preorderd. The pork itself was dry, but the rest of the meal was lovely. The huge Eton mess dessert was delishious and so was the rose wine. We did have to pay as £10 deposit per person which made the final bill really complicated to split.

We visited Thr Boatman for the second time tonight and both times we have absolutely loved it! The food is absolutely incredible, the service is quick and friendly, and the setting and atmosphere is lovely. Highly recommended!

I was indecisive about my main and starter, and the server's (Xander) came to my rescue. Amazing brie starter and even better duck mango hazelnut salad main. The gin drink menu is incredible, too! All in all, it was a great experience, food, atmosphere, and water front view! 😀 thanks again for a once in a lifetime meal ✨️

What a lovely, friendly and welcoming pub. Excellent food, we shared three starters between us and all were very good. Superb river views and of course, like any decent pub, this also welcomes dogs. I must say this pub has some of the nicest staff, they have an eye for detail and excellent customer service skills. Special thanks to Rose - you are a diamond xx

We had a lovely New Years Eve dinner at the Boatman whilst staying on the canal boat opposite. Food was excellent, service was fantastic and very dog friendly. Highly recommend.

Really enjoyed our meal here in this beautiful riverside setting. They were absolutely heaving but didn’t keep us waiting. Staff were really nice and accommodating. Atmosphere was great. You absolutely have to try the Eton Mess, one of the best I ever had.

Nice place if around the Windsor area. Decent quality pub food and lots of space. Dog friendly which is also a bonus. Slightly away from the other restaurants so you get that open space feeling. Nice view of the river and the bridge.
