Here's what you need to know: this is a see and be seen Hamptons-esque French casual restaurant in the North Shore of Chicago (Winnetka). Food is food and enjoyable but not great or memorable. Service is very good and friendly. The king's apple is a must order dessert. Food: we ordered some escargot, frisée salad with lardons, 2 desserts, and some coffee (as we were between meals). The escargot was a bit weak and overly rich. I requested a wedge of lemon to add some acid to cut the overwhelming richness of the butter and that helped a lot (the kitchen should know to include something to balance this dish out). The bread with the escargot was inedible unfortunately because of how tough it was and I nearly chipped my tooth on it. I asked for a softer bread that I could chew on which they brought out but charged me $5 for - which I thought was in poor taste considering the other bread which was an integral part of the meal was inedible. The greens in the frisée salad were outstanding, and the egg was poached perfectly. The only complaint was the yolk/egg was under seasoned bland (they surely need to use a deeper yolked egg for more viscosity and flavor) and the lardons (pork belly / bacon bits) were almost non existent. There was 3-4 minuscule pieces in my salad which they need to add more to create a complete, balanced set of bites. The king's apple was a fantastic dessert with green apple mousse so perfectly and delicately sweetened over a financier and accompanied by some brushed caramel, crumble and apple bits. Loved it. The pot de crème was just meh. Too milky, not enough depth of chocolate and very one-note and plain in its flavor profile. Service from our server was very good although he was stretched a bit thin and we were often craning our necks to look for him or get a busser's attention. Even on a random summer Tuesday night, they were packed to the max starting 6:30PM. The first cup of coffee was perfect (they use big shoulders from Chicago) and the second refill was over extracted during the brew and bitter. Noticeable difference. Obviously this is not a value restaurant. Our apps and desserts ran us $90 I will be retuning for brunch at some point this summer and hopefully will be able to increase my rating depending on the breakfast offerings.

Went there for dinner and brunch two days later. Great service and atmosphere. We asked for a special cocktail that was not on the list, the bartender was not familiar with it but he searched the recipe and made it for us. Turned out great...

Two drastically different experiences in the same week. We went to Pomeroy on Tuesday for dinner and loved everything: the food was incredible, the service was friendly and efficient, and the vibe felt cozy and energetic at the same time. Just left the restaurant today, and it was a complete 180. This time we had lunch, and the service and the food, both were a complete letdown. Everything arrived lukewarm, and after the appetizers round we specifically asked our waiter Levie to bring our main dishes as soon as they come out to make sure they’re hot. Second time around everything was barely warm again. French fries felt like they were already stale, the cheese on the macaroni gratin was solid. When we let the waiter know, he was trying to talk us into that this is how it’s supposed to be served. Well.. just 4 days ago the same things were perfectly executed, so sorry I’m not buying it. And a cherry on top of the cake - I was shocked to see the same waiter grab a beer that was sitting on the counter for 15 minutes, waiting to be picked up, stir it with a spoon to it make it look freshly poured and take it to another table. So far for a fine dining establishment. We left completely unsatisfied and disappointed in the whole experience, food and service included.

Good atmosphere. Good food. Pomeroy is a good local restaurant that offers great food and amazing drinks. The atmosphere is great and you it’s conveniently located in north suburbs, avoids a drive into a city. Highly recommend it for anyone whose hungry.

Great outdoor seating and even better food. Sea bass was perfectly cooked, escargot was amazing, and no complaints about the tomato salad. Red velvet cake looked better than it tasted, but I was stuffed at that point anyway. Made up for it by ordering profiteroles and gelato.

Delicious French restaurant in Winnetka. I had the half roasted chicken with mashed potatoes which was excellent. We also had the King Apple for dessert which was unique and tasty. I look forward to returning soon and trying the steak.

If you're looking for an exceptional French dining experience, look no further than Pomeroy. I was here for business trip and my colleagues recommended this place to me. It was so good that I came here two consecutive nights. The staff are knowledgeable, attentive, and eager to help you navigate the menu. I really like the drink that the staff recommended me. It is called bad apple. My favorite dishes are the duck leg confit and the mussell. This savory stew is bursting with rich flavors and textures, and is a true delight for the senses. Whether you're a fan of classic French cuisine or just looking to try something new, the mussell at Pomeroy is a must-try. But that's not all - the mussel dish at Pomeroy is simply outstanding. Prepared with care and attention to detail, each mussel is plump, juicy, and bursting with flavor. It's no wonder that this dish is a fan favorite among regulars and newcomers alike. Aslo, the dish come French fries. I like to put the French fries into the soup/sauce at the end. Given the exceptional quality of the food and service, you might expect to pay more at other French restaurants, but I think Pomeroy offers reasonable value for quality you getting. I am a value-quality consumer. I think I am spending my every dollar worth here. All in all, Pomeroy is an excellent French restaurant that deserves all of the praise it receives. The combination of exceptional service, delicious food, the nostalgic 30s atmosphere, and reasonable pricing make for an unforgettable dining experience. If you're in the mood for a taste of France, look no further than Pomeroy.

You must go to this restaurant, you should not miss it. It was a great experience, the food is delicious, well prepared, elegantly presented, first class ingredients, very good wine selection. I enjoyed the food, every part of it. You can taste that the food has been prepared with care and attention to detail. The service is actually quite good, very professional, attentive without being intrusive, courteous. Thank you, it was a great experience. The place is nice, good location, interesting decorations, some medieval wooden statues, a nice terrace if you want, the bar is cozy and intimate. I even liked the bathrooms (I usually don't), even the route to get there is interesting (you'll understand when you go). I highly recommend The Pomeroy, I can't wait to go again and it's only a 45 minute drive from my house!

Good restaurant. The wine list has been adjusted, not to include classic French Wine vintages, which is disappointing, seeing as how this is a French restaurant. The sommelier is no longer there. Cheaper, but not necessarily better wines. I wonder what happened? Food is fine and service is great.
