Nice place to visit and learn about old water filer station; to observe birds and to walk. There is now cafe and parking is free of charge or you can make a small donation

Almost an insider tip. Located a little out of the way, you can take a little walk and enjoy yourself on the small Elbe island. There are the water pools, nature information and a few activities. Everything was very nicely designed. Even deck chairs are available free of charge. Parking spaces are available. A coffee/restaurant is on site and free toilets.

Beautiful park, open-air museum and many others. It's a visit to go for a walk and get some information from Haumburg's sights for free.

Very nice complex with lots of interesting information boards about the flora and fauna and the building itself. You can go for a nice walk here and children can play in a small sand playground. You can also observe many different species of birds, and there is even an observation platform.

A beautiful facility to relax and unwind for a while. I would like to apologize for confusing it with the cafe. Their facilities are really very well made for relaxation. And also for the children to play and learn. Thank you very much for your work.

The historical waterworks and the nature path are a very nice place for a walk. The waterworks was perviously used to filer the tap water for Hamburg in 22 filtration ponds until 1990. Today the island is a nature reserve. The nature path has interesting information on the local plants and animals in German. My favourite part of the path was the 2 metal bowls with water that can be used to demonstrate waves and resonance.

It looks like a wonderful place but unfortunately closed due to quarantine.. Been anyway around walking or in bike is a good outside Hamburg (outskirts) destination. It has water all around and one can enjoy the birds and boats passing by. I would definitely return when is open again.

A good place to enjoy time and know how people in Hamburg drank water in the past, and there is a museum and there are the most beautiful stories I have ever heard

The Wasserkunst Elbinsel Kaltehofe is a really beautiful, historic facility in the countryside where you can learn a lot about water production in Hamburg. The lovingly restored buildings and the informative exhibition make the visit an interesting experience. The combination of nature and technology that can be experienced here is particularly impressive. A great place to learn more about the history of water supply while enjoying the peace and beauty of nature. Highly Recommended!

Interesting system about the former water supply of a big city, small café next door. Located directly on the bike path.

Lots of it is closed because of Corona. It is nice for a short walk as an interruption to a bike trip or something.
