I visited there on a Saturday afternoon. The atmosphere was gloomy, lighting was adequet. The young lady who served me was polite and friendly. If not for the good customer service and decent chips, this would be an easy 1 star review. The only time I would ever visit would be for a game of pool and alcoholic beverages as everything else is not worth a penny. I ordered a 3 for £12 'deal' of breaded mushrooms (£3.95), southern fried chicken strips (£4.45) and chips (£2.95), now, where to start? £4.45 for a portion of 4 dry, over-cooked, rock-hard chicken strips? Even if they were cooked properly, that's obscene for 4 strips of chicken. This is Wokingham, not Central London! 1/10. £3.95 for 8 breaded mushrooms that were no bigger than a 50 pence piece that came with mayo, not garlic dip. Probably the most uninspiring plate of breaded mushrooms I've ever seen. 2/10. I can't really fault the chips, bang on! Crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. 10/10 I also ordered a tea (add hot water) and late. They were from a self-serving vending machine - rubbish and tastless. The mug and teaspoon just tops the whole experience off. What was that green substance on the mug??! I was reluctant to eat the food but was starving and it was too cold to go anywhere else, so I grudgingly ate. AVOID eating here, I really doubt their kitchen is even food worthy.

How has this little gem been kept hidden !! The kids eat for £1 with each paying adult and they have a ball pit and soft play for the toddlers, the food was lovely and the service outstanding

Adnan is the best bar tender ever.!!!! So nice and funny he is one of my favourites ever ❤️❤️ And sky/Skye. Amazing girl honestly so nice looked after us amazingly. Staff here are 10/10. Feel so safe with them and security always on it when needed love it !!

Perfect for families, great food selection and very quick service. Lots of seating inside and out the front. Soft play inside for children. The toilets are upstairs with a big window on the landing that looks over the whole inside of the pub.

Family friendly with the soft play and a small area for little ones. My child always requests to come here as she enjoys playing and the kids breakfast. I've tried a couple of the burgers from the menu and found the confit garlic and this time the chilli cheese to be really good. I asked if they had a non-alcoholic kopparberg which they did not but the barmaid was able to direct me to a reasonable alternative.

What a brilliant place to take children! They have two play areas, perfect for under 5’s and the staff are so friendly. The food is delicious! Last day of the holidays today and it was raining and this place saved the day! Will highly recommend to others!x

Very friendly staff. Always welcomed by them and feel like home. Food honestly is not the best of the best in town, but the price is cheaper than most of the restaurants here. So it's a balance after all I guess. Two pools are available. Just pop in a pound and have fun!

Disappointed no Sunday lunch option. Fish and chips left an oily taste,must've been old oil. Upset stomach all afternoon and evening for myself and person I dined with. Shame as nice welcome

Really enjoyed lunch with kids last weekend in Gig house. While kids enjoyed drawing and new balloons 🎈 from Gig, parents enjoyed special offer 2 for 1 drinks and kids meal was just for £2.50 what is incredible. Lovely outside area and a sunny weather made it even more special. Definitely will recommend it as all food is freshly made and you don't need to spend fortune.

We ordered two “The Gig House Special Burger” but it came without mushroom, I questioned and no one did anything. My beer tasted like a hand sanitizer. Poor service and expensive price for what they offer.

A very disappointing experience I am sorry to report. It was the day of the Wokingham Winter Carnival but this venue didn't seem to know! They were badly understaffed (an off duty staff member helped clear tables) and by lunchtime it was heaving. By the time I placed my order they were quoting a 40 minutes wait. An hour later some of our group had received theirs but still no sign of ours, I chased and 15 minutes later 2 meals arrived, one was correct but mine wasn't. I should have been wary when I chased up the waiter who didn't seem to know there was a Ranch burger on the menu. I received a Southern Fried. Having waited an hour and a quarter I wasn't about to contest the mistake further. The food was OK, overpriced though. There was a £2 difference and when I asked for the refund (with an explanation) they paid up.

A friend and I popped in for lunch on Sunday with our toddlers and it was such a positive experience. The service was pleasant, attentive and very much tailored to keep the little ones happy, which was appreciated. The food was great and the children’s lunch deal was the icing on the cake. Highly recommended — we will definitely be back!

steak and chips was passable. Table service Awful - we ordered our deserts and waited over two hours before seeking bar staff to be told the kitchen was closed. Ruined date night.

Love this place. Been twice since new management and never has failed to make the visit worth it Twice have gone for a meal and once for a Friday evening out. They have thought about all ages and the deals they offer are reasonable and worth it! They have 2 soft play sections that are clean and safe. The staff have been lovely each time I have visited and service is fast and friendly. The decor is nice and it is very cosy. Definitely worth a visit.

I was unaware until recently but the Gig House has the best happy hour deal in Wokingham hands down (Everyday from 4pm- 8pm)! The Staff are very friendly and offer great food at a very affordable price. Free coffees in the morning also!

My daughter and I came here today. We had an amazing meal. Grilled halloumi, nachos, a sirloin steak and a full rack of ribs plus a drink. It was outstanding and great value for money. Definitely recommend. I have booked again for three weeks time for 6 of us.

Since the reconstruction, they created 2 play areas for small as well as bigger kids and so it's one of the rare places in wokingham where you could get nice food while entertain your children. Highly recommended for all parents who want to eat in peace 😉

We had a Groupon meal for steak and chips with wine . Which was booked . They asked us if we wanted to order something else . They said the steak would take 30 minutes to cook. Which means they had to buy it straight away rather than having it prepped .This meant the steak was just cooked . With no seasoning or anything to it . It was one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to. I would never go back even if they offered us a free meal.

Would definitely avoid for food. Fish is under cooked and cheap cheap fish, definitely not cod as advertised. Children's burger comes with cheese that is not advertised and not alergin friendly at all. Over charged for rubbish food

Went to gig house for lunch with my family on Friday. The food was lovely good prices and the children got a complimentary starter that they loved. Staff were very welcoming would definitely go again and recommend to friends

Farai was AMAZING, so friendly and welcoming, honestly became best friends by the end of the evening, he goes above and beyond and is so kind and funny. He made us shots that we recommended, a surprise drink that I asked for and was a good sport along the way - the food was good and the drinks were amazing - would 100% recommend

We would like to thank the staff on Sunday 23/10, in particular the kindness of the young lady who attended us when my wife had a tumble when she tripped off the step (to the table). The food was good and the solicitous service even more so!

This is a fantastic venue for a family dinner with kids. I have dined in with my children on a few occasions now and have always had a brilliant experience. The staff are friendly, polite and go through extra mile when needed, food is delicious and very reasonably priced and they offer a huge variety of drinks (including cocktails) The venue is lovely inside with plenty of seating, pool tables, and has a covered patio area too. I’m also very impressed with the refit of the toilets which are now very modern and clean. Would definitely recommend and will continue to go.
