Saw Extreme here. We were in the back row of the balcony on the right hand side and it was great. You struggle to see who is on the stage at the extreme right but other than that awesome. Staff are really friendly and helpful.

Great venue for boxing, great view from the balcony. Unreserved seating so get there early for best seats. Only negative is the cost of beer, long bar queue but that's the same for most venues.

Lovely venue, we had a blast. The only thing is when you on your seat can not see the stage, lots of heads, then everyone stood up for all the concert and still hard to see. Bar prices are a bit high, and I spend over 200 pounds for 3 people. The first row is best but prob super expensive. I did menage to go to the front to take some good photos but was told off to go back 😫😪 lots of staff and security, no pictures after the concert which I hoped for 😢

I went to see the levellers last night and it’s the first time I have been to the halls since it has reopened. We were on the top balcony on the right as you face the stage. We could only get balcony tickets and I was disappointed as I would have chosen standing/stalls if they were available. However the seats were great, the view was excellent, the top bar top right is called the vip bar but anyone can use it and it was really quiet with no queue when I went. The toilets are so nice there too, I mean super nice. Its was like the seating and experience I’ve had when you pay for better seats at the NEC. I don’t think I would choose to stand again. I think you might be able to sneak back down to standing, but I didn’t bother trying, it looked heaving. The staff everywhere were lovely showing you where to go. The only downside as lots of people have said is the price of the drinks which is eye watering and you pay for the cup and then I think you might get the money back but I forgot to do that. They are reusable plastic though so that’s a plus.

I only gave 3 stars because of the sound, which obviously as a concert hall is a pretty big part of its expected service! A LOT of money has been spent on this place so I expected/hoped for big things. Lovely staff, really friendly security and a nice clean well maintained building…but then the sound…every time I have visited here the sound is just bad, vocals sound hollow and full of echo. Such a shame and one more thing, why on earth did they remove urinals from the upstairs toilets! I thought I had walked into the ladies with just three cubicles…🤯🤷🏻

Fantastic concert and venue, everything went smoothly from start to finish. Arrived at 6:50pm and was in by 7:15pm (doors were at 7pm) so not too bad. Merch queue was quite long but due to having time and seats it wasn't a concern, we were sat down by the start of the support act. Concert (Babymetal) was amazing and the sound was perfect. Not a huge venue so good views from most places. Only negative thing I'd say was the new balcony they'd put in, the people sat at the back couldn't see a portion of the stage as they were all stood up despite having seating tickets. So I'd bear that in mind if sitting at the back of the new balcony. All the security and staff were friendly and helpful to everyone where needed.

Decently enough renovated concert hall with great sound and acoustics with some operational flaws. I recently attended a wonderful gig by Marillion and had a seat on the front row in the first balcony, to the side. I couldn't have any complaints from where I was seated as the view was good however I'm aware that the downstairs temporary seating is not only uncomfortable, it's squeezed in too close to each other and offers terrible leg room. I'm so pleased I booked a seat upstairs because I know this would have ruined my evening being in such discomfort. I'm also aware that the front few rows to the sides of the venue offered dreadful views of the stage, whereby the occupants could only see half of the production due to poor sight lines. Either these seats should be sold for events at a cheaper price or preferably the whole seating plan be reduced in numbers and configured in such a way that all can see wherever sat in the room. A personal gripe of mine too, was the segregation within the venue. Upstairs ticket holders have to enter the venue via a different door to those downstairs and are restricted from mingling together once in. For me, this is utterly ridiculous as I personally was alone whilst my circle of friends were all downstairs. Why on earth are we not permitted to have a drink in the bar together pre-show? Absolute nonsense. The positioning of merch sales on each level is a good idea in principle, however, again due to the stupid segregation issue, I overheard some people being unable to buy particular tshirts in their sizes as they had sold out, but of course weren't allowed to go downstairs to see if the stock there could accommodate. Surely this issue should be addressed? I really don't like saying negative things about places I visit however, nothing changes if points are not highlighted and brought to the attention of those who need to know and I strongly feel my points raised need looking into. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the gig, and I wouldn't be put off visiting again, however I would have to choose an upstairs seat, similar to the one I had unless changes are made. Good luck and best wishes.

They done a good job renovating this old place. Slightly cleaner and more modern, but still the Civic where so many of the great bands have performed. Nice and quick to get in. Reasonable directions on where to go when you’re inside. The bar was great. No queue and soundproofed to a degree. All in all, a great venue.

Following a refurbishment, this old venue has been updated with a better layout and new top tier. The bars are expensive but it's much easier to get served. A great place to see a band. Pictures are from Suede.

We had an excellent night at The Halls for Seal's concert last week. Entry via security was smooth, the bar well staffed and the toilets clean. There was a hiccup with our row actually missing, but we were quickly reseated just a few rows from the front - thanks! Perhaps most impressive was the sound. I'm unsure if that is a venue thing but it was crystal clear.
