A nice pub experience big enough for about 100 people always seemed to be busy

Great atmosphere. Love the new menu. It was about time they updated it lol. This is my favourite pub to grab some food and drinks with friends and family plus very friendly and helpful staff. Couldn't ask for a better spot on the map!!

You know what to expect with Wetherspoons- value for money, food, and drink. I arrived 10.30am and it was quite quiet for Wetherspoons, but this was the first time I'd been in Wolverhampton's Mòon Under Water. We both drank tea, which you get unlimited refills for £1.35, which is great if you plan on staying for a while, as we did having a 3.5hr meeting planned. Food wise, we both had big breakfasts. The consistency of the Wetherspoons breakfasts is always good. My only recommendation for improvement would be to provide double the beans.

This is a great Wetherspoons. The staff were very friendly and helpful. All areas of the pub were very clean. The real ales were kept to a very high standard and the pizza I had was excellent

Disgustingly dirty. I visit everyday. Everyday I have to sit at a dirty table. I wouldn't eat there if you paid me. The service is very poor. However, I go after work for a drink so it's handy. I would not recommend to anyone else unless they are visiting the theatre for a show. The photo shows a table in front of me that was there when I arrived and when I left 2 hours later.

Very busy pub, right opposite the Grand Theatre. Good food at very reasonable prices. Good, fast service with polite staff. Toilets leave a lot to be desired though

Great Wetherspoons pub. Handy for a drink before going to the theatre which is opposite. Really busy at these times. Reasonably priced food and drinks. Friendly staff. Quick service even though really busy.

Went in the evening. It didn't have many customers in. Took a while to be served and had to ask. Order drinks and food. Bar man was really friendly and promoted offers. Ordered food some of which when it arrived was tepid. This was sent back and arrived back promptly red hot. Overall 3.5 not quite a 4 due to the hiccups.

A really good pub, the breakfast has a variety of options with food options throughout the day. The booths add a different experience with friendly staff. I would rate this for now, the best experience of pub breakfast within Wolverhampton city centre.

Always used it when I wanted a quick pint before getting the bus home. It is near to the Bus Station, A 5 minute average Walk From the Train Station Tram Stops nearby, it is opposite the Grand Theatre and is a typical Spoons place, pint of Carling was about £2.90-£3 can be slow service due to short staff. But yeah decent typical spoons

Always been a Spoon's fan, funny thing is I had never been in here, even though it is just a few miles away from home. A large place ( people of a certain age remember it as the CO OP) staff as always pleasant, food and beer again good. Why have I not been here before? I'll certainly go back.

Grill Tuesday is back again. W00ooO Big mix grill with an extra egg and a pint of their Leffe. 11£ odd. Came to my table super quick time. Id only had a few sips of beer. Everything on my plate was great. Sausage x2, 4oz lamb, 4oz steak(no option I was offered on how I wanted it cooked), 4oz pork chop, 4oz gammon, 2 eggs, nice crispy onion rings and chips that had been cooked well . Just a shame I had to run for a bus. Next time we will stop to taste all the beers on tap. Some fantastic looking ones and I want them all..

Never patronised this place before but like most Wetherspoons it was packed as they know how to keep customers coming in,low prices. I have to say it isn't my preferred place to eat or drink as it's so busy with sticky carpet but our drinks were cheaper than any place I know. I had tea and had I had more time could have refilled it as many times as I wanted for just £1.20,bargain. We didn't on this occasion but members of my family always head for Spoons.

We often go on a Tuesday as it is 'steak night.' You can get a sirloin steak and a salad or chips, plus a drink for a tenner. The service is quick, if you order on line your drinks arrive within a couple of minutes, followed very quickly by your food. I admit that we have had the odd steak that was not quite up to par, but the quality is usually very good.

What a shambles this pub is - we were going to the theatre the place was rammed not enough staff on to cope with the customers - nowhere to sit or stand - 10 minutes wait to get served a drink then another 15 minutes stood at the bar waiting to be served to place an order for food with no acknowledgement didn't bother in the end - staff walking about doing very little - tables left dirty and a man asleep up the corner with his dirty plate in front of him apparently been there two hours!! Very unlikely we will go there again we knew it would be busy but that was beyond a joke just glad the football wasn't on as well, they should know when shows are on and make sure they have enough people to cope with demand not impressed sorry!

Great meal before a show, bit mean on the chip portion would have ordered a side portion if I new how few I was going to end up with. The hot chocolate with free refills were Excellent and great value for money

I have partial hearing so when the server came over with my Pepsi I thought she said "diet Pepsi" and I replied "Sorry I ordered normal Pepsi", then my friend informed me that she actually said "here's your Pepsi" I did apologize as the misunderstanding was my fault but the attitude that came with it... She rolled her eyes and put out her hands as if I did something really wrong and that upset me. P.S. I gave it two starts cause there was another server who was very friendly & understanding with me, just a shame about her colleague.

All the staff were lovely. My pasta dish was very tasty but not hot enough. The decor is very tired and shabby and in need of updating and complete refurbishment.

We've been coming here semi regular for the last year as the prices make an ideal starting point before going somewhere with music. It's a Wetherspoons so you know what your getting before you walk in the door cheap drinks and cheap food that's hit and miss on the quality depending on the night. The door staff do a good job considering the difficulties of the position, I've witnessed them ensure an elderly lady found a seat, ensure a youngman on the spectrum got served and remove rowdy patrons before things escalated inside. The bar staff are generally friendly and efficient, some of the table staff need to work on their personality but they all get the job done. The decor is tired, there's gnats no matter what time of the year you go I attribute this to the damp, there are often a couple of spots roped off due to leaks. The upgrade to hotel and consequent work/re-decoration can't come soon enough.

Avoid on match day unless you are a Wolves fan with ticket. I was on way to Carlisle so stopped for breakfast as near rail station. Refused entry as did not have home ticket just an away ticket for Bristol Rovers at Carlisle. They are not joking home fans only.

'Spoons' have regular guests ales at tremendous prices (£2.60ish) which r a great way to experience different beers in £5.50+ surroundings of other bars. Food portions r generous and up to scratch, staff always friendly n pretty efficient, so quite a few good things going for them. :-)

The pub was very nice, if slightly dated but added to the character. The breakfast I had in there was top quality, and the staff were quick and pleasant bringing the food out. I used the app to order, so can't comment on their at bar service.

Fabulous, there were eight of us & we all enjoyed our meals & good service. My meal wasn't correct so the waiter put it right straight away. I was very grateful.

Why the bar tender not trained how to service drinks properly? They handle the drink glass from were the customer have to drink from at the top the glass. Hand get dirty handling money and pulling beer top handle . Why don't they service all drink on a tray when taking it to a costume who make a table order

  • 4/5 Jim D. 10 months ago on Google
Cheap and cheerful for drinks and excellent real ale, which was almost 3 pound cheaper than other pubs in the city center the decor is dated, and the carpet has been insitu for almost 25 years. A disturbed young lady told us to watch out for the leaders and that she was telling it us to keep us safe and look out for us which over all I think was a good shout.

Went into today for the first time in a long while, and sadly I was disappointed!!! Many years ago I used to go in regularly, with my children, to meet friends and have a meal. So today my husband and I went in to have something to eat for a change - we were left feeling was it really worth it?!! The quality of table service was low with the waitress/staff member just placing the food in front of us - no information about condiments (which she gave to another table she served afterwards!)... The beer that my husband ordered was flat, with no head and tasted like the lines hadn't been cleaned in a while, which resulted in him leaving half of it. The meals were luke warm at best, cold at worst. The presentation on the plate wasn't good, almost like it'd been dumped there by someone whose passion for their job had long since gone (no I don't expect it to be 5 star standard, i want to enjoy it as a whole). On the plus side, the bar staff were friendly and polite. On the whole it's doubtful we'll be back and won't be recommending it.

We went on a tuesday evening decided to have our tea before the show.. they had ran out of everything... things were missing from our plates when questioned. They said we didn't order them but my husband had a mix grill and his egg was missing we paid for extra bpud to be told there wasn't any when we again questioned this... it was a catalogue of errors .. but in there defence they were very short staffed one lad behind bar trying to serve everyone..

Hadn't been in this pub for over 25 years, so thought I'd give it a try. Wish I hadn't bothered. The place clearly hasn't been redecorated in that period of time and, although the beers were relatively cheap, the one I wanted, she wouldn't serve because it was too cloudy, the second one I chose was also a little could and really wasn't up to scratch. The food I ordered was, at best, nondescript and wasn't particularly cheap. Certainly won't coming here again.

It's wetherspoons always good value for money. Some staff more customer friendly than others could do with re decorating don't go on match day unless u have a wolves ticket.

  • 2/5 Sharon W. 1 year ago on Google
Visited 10th December as attending the Grand Theatre. Disgusting is putting it politely. Had to remove and clean the tables we sat at ourselves. Service was very slow and clearly not enough staff to cover what was an extremely busy day as also match day. Food eventually ordered but again had to wait a while to get served. Bar area full of empty glasses covered in spilled beer.

Great prices, friendly atmosphere and warm environment. Terrific offers on ales. Food menu excellent and value for the money. Perhaps could have done with a couple more bar staff at busy times. But i shall definitely call in again.

The Moon Over The Water in Wolverhampton is opposite The Wolverhampton Grand Theatre. It is slight run down in areas such as the toilets. A fair size venue. Needs a bit more finesse. The prices are slightly cheaper than in Birmingham and are very good value.
