I used to love this place. I discovered it shortly before covid and felt I was truly accepted. However now they require proof of vaccination. I find this discouraging and ironic. Their mission is yoga for everyone. Yet if you do not conform to the "new normal" you are not accepted. I desperately need a place like this used to be, but I do not agree with being vaccinated. I have that right. Just as everyone else does to disagree. And online yoga videos are not the same. I could buy a dvd of yoga or Google something easily. The experience and energy of a real class is what people need.

I can’t imagine going to any other yoga studio. I believe in ACY’s mission and payment model (pay what you can), celebrate its inclusive and calming energy, appreciate the management and staff who are welcoming, cheerful and professional, value its implementation of Covid safety protocols, appreciate the studio’s cleanliness, really love several of its teachers (with many more I haven’t had the opportunity to practice with yet), and leave every class feeling renewed. Pics are of the new outdoor space, a lovely way to practice as the weather gets nice. I also have a really rad wardrobe of lightly used clothing articles from Zen and Now 🙌🏼

ACY is the most welcoming, genuine and supportive yoga studio I’ve ever set foot in. With classes for all levels, unique workshops and a donation based model, there is truly something for everyone. The studio is run with the professionalism and expertise of a corporate studio, but is almost entirely comprised of volunteer teachers and staff, demonstrating how committed the community is to seeing this studio succeed and serve all Asheville residents. I highly recommend this studio for beginners and experienced yogis alike — the diverse array of offerings ensure that you’ll be met where you’re at, and supported in all you do. I’m so grateful to have found this community, and can’t imagine my life in Asheville without it!

ACY has provided a safe space for me in hard times, a place of refuge and practice. I am forever grateful to the knowledgeable, kindhearted teachers, staff, and the vision of this donation based nonprofit. They have allowed yoga to be accessible to people who may have otherwise never stepped on the mat. I appreciate the welcoming atmosphere and zen vibe in the studios. Sometimes going to a yoga class can bring up insecurity and comparison. I feel like ACY does a good job of setting the scene to come as you are and let go of those fears.

Asheville Community Yoga is an Asheville treasure. They have classes throughout the day at many skill levels. You can start with gentle classes, which are offered throughout the day, and move up to more advanced classes when you feel ready. The instructors are all amazing and sign up is a breeze on the Mindbody app. ACY is a non-profit and many of the instructors are volunteers. They also offer sliding scale to ensure that anyone who wants to, can practice yoga. I highly recommend ACY to anyone who wants to learn and practice yoga.

ACY has been a true life saver for me. After years of not practicing yoga due to intimidation and fear of getting back in the classroom, I found this place. Walking through the door feels like coming home. The campus is beautiful and welcoming. I have had wonderful unique experiences with every teacher/ class I’ve taken so far. They offer a variety of classes for any skill level. It’s donation based and their mission is truly inspiring and one that I want to continue to support. It feels really good to walk in and be part of a beautiful community. If you’re looking for a good yoga studio- I highly recommend this place. ✨

I have so many good things to say about Asheville Community Yoga that it is difficult to summarize here in a review. This time last year I was unwell...physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. I knew I needed to do something transformative. I chose to do the Yoga Teacher Training at Asheville Community Yoga. The experience of this training was truly transformative and healing in greater ways that I could have ever imagined. I learned a lot about the teachers of the training and the way this yoga center runs , and learned they truly implement their ethics in action, including financially. I am truly impressed. I stand by Asheville Community Yoga whole heartedly. I continue to be impressed with the yoga classes offered, the staff, the teachers, the commitment of the volunteers, the clear energy of the space, the cleanliness, and the accessibility. Asheville Community Yoga is walking the talk and doing the work to ensure yoga is accessible and the space is welcoming to all. Asheville Community Yoga helped improve my life and make me a better person, and I see the way it is doing this on a community level. A full circle of abundance of divine energy flow through teachings and practice of yoga. I'm forever grateful.

This place is wonderful ! Its a 501(c3) nonprofit so most instructors are volunteers and the classes are donation based. Although in person classes have been scaled back somewhat since Covid there is still a nice variety to choose from each day, and also online classes. There’s also a program to become an instructor. The place has a nice vibe and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. The instructors are excellent and you can choose an easy or more challenging class depending on your current experience level or where you are at that day. I arrived early for class to take these photos. Not shown is Studio B which had a class in session

Asheville Community Yoga provides wonderful yoga classes ! It is refreshing to partake of these donation-based classes The philosophy and actions of Asheville Community Yoga are admirable and generous!!!!!! The teachers are dedicated to the needs of the the community and offer their classes on a donation- based program so everyone can attend !!! The classes are excellent and provide a peaceful and loving environment I have taken the Virtual Yin Class on zoom with Katie Freshman and she is a great teacher. HIGHLY RECOMMEND ASHEVILLE COMMUNITY YOGA 😊👌 I have been going to the online donation based classes often because I find them sweet and refreshing. Yin Class is excellent— Katie has a peaceful way and it is beautiful !!! The spacious breath and movement she instructs helps to both relax and strengthen. Wonderful ! Katie’s class keeps strengthening and stretching and relaxing ! Asheville Community Yoga continues to have great online yoga classes —- pricing on sliding scale and free as well! Great way to do self care during the pandemic especially online with zoom in the safety of home—-learn or practice yoga to help yourself at this time —- brings a sense of peace and strength —- try it—- so wonderful to practice with dedicated teachers , 1/25/ 2022 UPDATE! Asheville Community Yoga offers such wonderful support to the community — how beautiful is that! Since I am out of state, it has given me the opportunity ( via online classes) to stay fit physically and mentally and have interaction with wonderful teachers and other yogis! My hope is they will be able to expand the online classes to ‘zoom’ some of the in-studio classes too !!! How good would that be! They get a 5+++++ Star rating and deserve it 100%!!!!!

First time at this studio today! Very friendly people and had an amazing practice. The yoga spaces, indoors and outdoors, are beautiful. I can definitely see myself becoming a part of this yoga community long term:) I also felt safe as far as COVID goes. The vaccination policy is fair. They have a well ventilated indoor space, as well as, outdoor classes.

I have been vacationing in Asheville for years and recently made it my second home. This yoga center is a big part of the reason I want to spend more time here every year. My experience there is always uplifting. I am so grateful to the teachers and all the volunteers for creating this genuinely inclusive, safe environment for growing and healing in the practice. I wholeheartedly support their decision to require vaccination and know it comes from a place of true caring for the whole community.

I moved to Asheville several months ago and was looking for a place to continue my yoga practice. I found Asheville community yoga which meant that I found my happy place. The staff is wonderful and caring and the people are very respectful. The instructors are incredible and provide options for all levels of ability. The entire space is welcoming and the Zen and now shop is a great way to start your morning or end your day getting something special to bring joy to your home or gifts for someone special

The perfect option if you are traveling or a local. Inside & outside classes. Rian Austin’s Friday night class was a true delight with a fun figure 4 chair twist. Thank you for letting me practice & reminding me to slow down to breathe.
