What amazing service; nothing was too much bother. My mother-in-law has very specific dietary requirements and they were easily accommodated. I also asked if they could strip the corn off the corn-on-the-cob for our 3 year old son before the meal came out and sure enough they did! Generous portions, hot food and attentive staff (some of the best customer service I’ve had in a long time)! Definitely worth coming along for a meal (also be sure to check out the desserts while you’re here)!

The staff were friendly. The food was very nice. Only downside was we were asked if we'd like any sauces and we asked for mayo. We waited a long time for the girl to come back our food was getting cold so we started eating it. When my son went to see were she was she was actually behind the bar so had completely forgotten.

How anyone can post a negative review is beyond me. The staff, food and experience is top notch. If you are looking for gluten free food and drinks, this is the place to be. If we could we would give 6 stars. By the way, the service staff are excellent. We will definitely visit again and again.

We had a lovely meal and drink at the Nags head. The food was hot and arrived quite quickly. The staff were all very friendly, especially Hilary, who went out of her way to ensure everything was OK. There was a good range of drinks to choose from. We will definitely come back here next time we are in Wrexham.

got lost on way back to hotel, saw this pub and thought it looked nice so popped in for a pint. lovely ladies behind bar, really bubbley. decided to return for evening meal. Really relaxing atmosphere and and service were excellent and the ladies room was also very pleasant with posh taps. A gem of a place in Wrexham.

Called in for lunch with my wife and daughter, not been here for a couple of years due to that thing called COVID but now we’re all jabbed up we had fish and chips with some nice seeded bread. Also a nice bottle of South African wine. Just as I remember the staff were very friendly and helpful and Hilary who has worked here for many years was lovely as always. I would definitely recommend a visit next time your in Wrexham. Many Thanks Darren 😀

Lovely place always very welcoming. The landlord spoke to me very knowledgeably about the history of the beer brands, just being friendly. Try the quiz on a Thursday too.

Went there today with my family for my 63rd birthday, the man that was checking people in was so rude and obnoxious, all because I didn’t have my mobile phone with me for the Track and trace. He made me so upset we had to leave. He was nasty and I mean really nasty. He spoilt my birthday. Such a horrible man. So please beware of him.

Fabulous food, absolutely worth travelling for. Lovely atmosphere. We went late lunch time but service was still swift. Friendly waiting staff. Clean pub. Pleasant bar staff. Cannot tell you how impressed we were with the food!!

This was our first proper can't be bothered let's go out for food. Just looking at the menu was organic. Proper pub fodder and the best value for money since lockdown began. Mega mixed grill you couldn't buy the meat raw for less than the plated up delight I had laid before me. It was a great meal to have. Coming back again just wish not so many puds are with ice cream. Just a personal thing though x

I was actually quite disappointed, I've always loved coming too the nags for food as it's usually very good food and friendly staff but last night was not so impressive. There was no rump steak fir my husband too have the mega mixed grill, my steak was over cooked and the staff weren't very friendly at all! They didn't even give us cutlery until I asked, after the food was put on the table. Really disappointing

Had my brothers 15th birthday meal at nags a few days ago, the place has a lovely warm welcoming feeling as soon as you walk in. The staff are incredibly nice and polite and went to all ends to make sure my brother had a spectacular evening which it was! Food is amazing prices for the high quality standards of food presented… highly recommended for a quick bite or even for a event or gathering 🙂

Visited the nags head for their breakfast with Santa. It was excellent value for money and the staff made each child feel so special taking time to speak to every one. The kids loved the story from Santa and the snow outside. The landlord (reindeer) really made the event special. Will definitely be visiting again. Thanks Chris

On entry there was a welcoming greeting from staff, combined, with the warm temperature made us feel at home. The staff were very pleasant and efficient and popped back to check if we needed anything else. I consider this pub to have the best selection of beers in the county!

Food was amazing. Had the surf & turf and it was really good. Went with my bf and he ordered a mixed grill but they didn’t have it on a Monday. However, staff was very friendly and managed to create an alternative meal for him which he really liked. Cocktails were amazing too, best part of the meal for me. Had the barmaid’s special, really good for folks with a very strong sweet tooth like me. I absolutely loved it and will definitely be going there for more cocktails.

Used to be a lovely friendly pub. My first venture out in 17 months, interrogation as you walk in, not allowed to sit outside, we know the rules in Wales, but this was totally insulting. Patrons means customers - not a free for all for the waiter to patronise customers.

Greeted with a smile and a Hello. ordered drinks and food. They condiments were brought over which were clean and not a cheap make. The food was fantastic as normal as were the drinks. I’ve never had a bad experience in The Nags Head. It’s my go to pub in Town.

The staff welcomed us and were really friendly. Such a nice welcome. We had to move because we had a wheelchair user in our party and they accommodated this quickly and without fuss. The food was outstanding. We all agreed that the food was something special. 13 of us. Each one will come back. Well done Nags Head Wrexham!! 10 out of 10 !

6 of us went for a meal here between Christmas and New Year. The manager, Coral, managed to squeeze us in despite it being a bit last minute booking in. We didn’t wait long for our meal, mainly all had steak which was cooked exactly how we liked it thanks to Mike. Will definitely be returning soon and would highly recommend this pub.

Such a great old pub, service was 10/10, walked in, friendly service from the very first moment, a Sunday roast and a few pints, nothing better, if you're ever in Wrexham, drop into this place, we had a great few hours here.

  • 5/5 David C. 10 months ago on Google
Lovely friendly staff. Lovely food. Food always comes out piping hot and in good time. The only thing I noticed on our last 2 visits was once we were served our food no one came back over after a few minutes to ask if everything was ok. Apart from that spot on!

  • 5/5 wendy j. 9 months ago on Google
Good atmosphere. Good service. Food looked very good and good value for money. However my hunters chicken was very hard to cut as dry and overcooked! Still a good lunch out though.

  • 5/5 adrian h. 10 months ago on Google
Fantastic pub. Just what I wanted. One of the few pubs in Wrexham that do actual meals rather than snacks and burgers. Quiet, relaxing, you can double up on spirits and get a discount. The service was great too. Nice that they asked if I had any allergies. Credit and debit cards accepted. Good beer garden too. Well worth a visit.

Staff were frosty! All tables had reserved signs on some of them two plus hours. What is the point? When we asked for assistance, the lady said just to find a seat, no help! I was with a elderly lady with mobility issues, so assistance would have been nice. The food was nice but due to the attitude of staff won't be in a hurry to return!

Enjoyed a nice meal. When charged £10 for a pint of ale and a 175ml chardonnay, questioned the high price. The barmaid said that the standard chardonnay was not available so I'd been given a more expensive one. I should have been given the option to order an alternative. Went to the cinema and called in for a drink on the way home. Surprised to be told that the towels were on and they'd finished serving - at 9.50pm! What's happened to this once super pub. Has it changed hands?

This place is lovely. Raised a pint to Wrexham AFC! Had great service from Cira, and really delicious dinner! Jam Sponge Pudding was truly a standout. And the chicken pie of the day was super solid. Definitely eat here after making your way into the center of town.

I personally did not like the turkey as was pressed turkey I felt it had no taste. More stuffing on the plate than Turkey, pigs in blanket spoiled by being Smokey also gravy / turkey had a funny unpleasant taste. Veg ok. Dessert was really lovely . To expensive for the price . Sorry but I had to be honest . Would maybe have enjoyed normal menu better

Great experience today. Experience has been lacking since Chris left, but Lucy went out of her way today to make sure that we were not only served quickly, but made to feel really really welcome. Really happy to see this level of service returning and I am already looking forward to going back.

This place was much better organised and cleaner than the same food chain only a 12 min walk away. There was a better choice of food and it was fair quality. Ive took a star off because at times we were waiting and looking for what I assume was the manager, to order more drinks. He was friendly enough but spent too much time talking to other eating customers. I also noticed that some younger people came in to meet their friends and they were all moved to a bigger table. This was just after the announcement that you weren't to meet other households. Give them their due...the table was throughly cleaned after they moved. I would visit here again.

I have been waiting to bring my mum to the nags for years! She lives in derby and visits every 3 months, due to it always being busy we have never had the chance to get in. I attend the nags weekly for food and the quiz. Everytime I come the experience out does itself and the 17th was included in this! Very excited to come back with my mum as she loved it.

Very good service, and food. Clientele were very sweary for a family visit but that is not the venues fault. Availability was a bit poor, drinks and meals not available but still showing on the app to order. However what was available was good and I would return.
