A characteristic 11-story building built in 1961–1967 based on the design of Andrzej Skorupa and Jacek Burzyński. The inspiration for this project was probably a house on a chicken leg straight from the fairy tales of Baba Yaga. The basis of the structure of the Trzonolinowiec is a reinforced concrete core, which transfers vertical compressive loads to the base of the building. There are ceilings in the form of square platforms suspended on twelve steel ropes. The ropes are attached to the top of the shaft and transfer the weight of the ceilings to it. To stiffen the structure, they are also anchored at ground floor level. The lowest floor is suspended above the undeveloped space around the core. Unlike traditional buildings, which are built from the bottom, Trzonolinowiec was built from the top floor. Individual floors, built at ground floor level from ready-made prefabricated elements, were lifted by hydraulic cylinders. The structure, initially hanging on ropes, was stiffened with concrete in 1974 and reinforced with steel columns on the ground floor. Curtain and internal walls were also replaced. Currently, it is no longer a hanging building, but a frame building. In 1967, the building received the title of House of the Year. Artists from Wrocław's scenes were located in Trzobolinowiec. At the beginning of their career, they lived here, among others: Bogusław Linda and Krzysztof Globisz. Today, mainly students live there.

Another unusual building in Wrocław. It was created as a test by the Wrocław University of Science and Technology. Built on the model of Asian buildings, designed to be earthquake-resistant. The entire structure was based on a concrete core and ropes supporting the ceilings. Residents' stories say that in strong winds the building tilted so much that it could move objects or open wardrobe doors. It was modernized by pouring concrete over the ropes. Now it is a normal building, but with interesting architecture.

Every time I am in the vicinity of the Railway Station, I pay attention to the famous building in Wrocław, i.e. Trzoblinowiec. For city residents, it is a house on legs. I don't like the look of it because it looks like a metal can. But in terms of the idea and construction of this block, it is wonderful. It was established in 1967.

W 1967 otrzymał tytuł „dom roku” 40 mieszkań w środku, ponoć mieszkał tam Bogusław Linda i Krzysztof Globisz;)

Calling this thing the ugliest building in Wrocław is an understatement. Trzonoliwiec is a crime against all architectural art

(Translated by Google) Leave the building as it is, do not modernize it, maybe renovate it from time to time. Bogusław Linda lived here, one of the best dubbing players, one of his works is dubbing in the spirit of Sparta.

Visually it is truly a tragedy, but architecturally it is quite a curiosity.

Interesting structure, after learning about the history of construction (from the top to the first floor), we decided to see this building with our own eyes, and since it is located 5 minutes from the station, it was not a problem. An interesting fact that you can check "by the way".

Modernistyczny budynek z lat 60. Jeden z niewielu w Europie. Stalowe liny zostały obudowane betonem, co zmieniło nieco charakter budynku.
