The staff was super friendly. They take American Express and have a large variety of wines. The steaks were beyond delicious. Wish I could’ve tasted the deserts but I was full. The portions were big :) I would definitely come back here

The SteakHouse at the Squire Inn is a local place to go to eat steak and other delicious meals. I have been there many times since it’s been the Steak House and the cuts of meat are always amazing! They can accommodate large tables if you give them enough notice and the restaurant is lovely. The restaurant is set to the side of the main pub but you don’t get too much noise from the pub which is nice! The staff are always friendly and welcoming, a couple of times I have had a few slight order mix-ups but the staff were quick to rectify them. One time I visited the Steak House and asked for a bottle of red wine which came out stone cold as it had been kept in the cellar, however the rest of the times I have been I have greatly enjoyed it. I have also had a Leg of Lamb Sunday Roast there before and the lamb was very fatty and it only took about 4 minutes from when I ordered it for our food to actually come out so I had wondered how long had it been sat around because it was warm but not hot. The Squire itself is a nice place to go for a drink and watch the football. Sometimes it can get very busy but it’s nice inside and the bar staff are friendly and quick to serve you. The outside seating area is nice in the sunny weather and there are a lot of tables out there.

Came here for a midweek steak lunch with my Dad. As we walked in we were met with a lovely cosy pub atmosphere and immediately greeted by staff. The Squire Inn offers food at the bar or in their restaurant. We were immediately seated and served with drinks. Both my Dad and I chose the sirlion steak from the steakhouse. Incredible food, well presented by friendly and attentive staff. Sadly we could not sample the desserts as we were both so happily full. Would highly recommend.

Booked a table for our son's Birthday celebration for 4 carnivores, 2 vegetarians and one Gluten free. We were met by Holly and she kindly pushed out booking back by half an hour due to travel delays. We all received a warm welcome and never felt rushed to order. The choice was good and we all enjoyed the meals ordered especially the Steaks which were exactly as we ordered. No need for Starters or Deserts here. All said best steaks in this country. Will definitely book again. Thanks to Holly for making it a special day for us. The Davey Family and partners.

Every time I’ve been here the blonde short women behind the till is extremely rude ! It’s as if being a customer is a chore for her. She clearly doesn’t want to be there so why doesn’t she just quit!!! I recommend the pub next door ( the George inn ) they’re soo polite !

Absolutely fantastic food! Dropped in here last minute after work for food and managed to get a table in the bar area, great atmosphere in the place and staff were all friendly and attentive. There is a varied menu with a lot of tempting dishes on, pork burnt ends to start were great. Fillet steak was absolutely beautiful, so was the burger my colleague had and the portion sizes were very ample. The cheesecake for dessert is genuinely the best I've had anywhere! It's not the cheapest of places but the quality absolutely makes it worth it. Highly recommended this place and I will definitely be back!

Staff were fantastic, friendly and very helpful. We specifically drove here from the other side of Bristol as the food was recommended. Well worth the 45minute drive incredible food. And a very handsome chef. Yummo!!

Treat night out with my other half. We shared the sharing platter, which is recommended for 4 people. Every dish was good but we felt a spoon would of been helpful on a couple of the dishes. Burger and lamb shank was ordered for our mains and both were lovely. Locally sourced produce, chilled atmosphere and great staff.

Great staff, who were very polite and helpful. Quick service, with tasty food and the portion of nachos I had for a starter was huge!! Definitely worth a second visit to try something else on the menu.

Good tasting food, had a problem with one of our meals but was rectified quickly but came out burnt! Again they responded well & took it of our bill with no problem. Apart from that would recommend it too anyone.

Fantastic service with very friendly staff! The burgers were absolutely incredible, best and BIGGEST burgers we've ever had. Crumble of of day also magnificent! Will have to try the great selection of steaks next time. Definitely recommend a visit here.

Nicely laid table. Definitely a meat eaters paradise. I loved my selection of honey glazed ham hock on bubble and squeak with cheese sauce, just needed something to break through the richness and add a different texture to the dish. Others in my party not so happy with their choices. I will just have to leave them at home next time ,-) A little too pricey though, that's why I gave 4 out of 5.

Great pub. Fantastic food. I shared the Chateaubriand with a friend and it was cooked to absolute perfection! Always a brilliant atmosphere in here. The only issue I have here is as a 6foot5 tall man it can be quite hazardous getting around the bar and to the toilets with the low ceilings! However this all adds to the character of the place and you can always blame the headache the next morning on concussion rather that the cider!

Yesterdays visit was our second one and we were with my brother in law and his girlfriend. I was with my wife and daughter, we had an enjoyable meal sitting outside in the garden. A wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Really annoyed ! 3 of us all ordered from special limited lunch menu, today, paid at bar for drinks and mains. Went to order 3 desserts from the set lunch menu , as decided we would like a dessert and told couldn't have them as already paid !the difference was 10.95 1 course,14.95 2 course why not just take 3 x £4 from us... ? Refused to let us order so furious decided not to pay 7.95 for a sweet on principle and left. Petty!! Won't be back .

Great food

What a superb meal. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was relaxed. It can be expensive but depends on what you chose. We gas the 24oz Porterhouse steak, and it melted in your mouth. Fully recommend

Took my father for a birthday meal this evening, The waitresses were fantastic and cannot fault them however we ordered 3 ribeye steaks to be cooked medium which were served overcooked and the pepper corn sauce was forgotten from our order meaning our steaks got cold while we waited for them. If this was a pub it could be overlooked but they market themselves as a steak house and charge prices that reflect that so it’s inexcusable. Please get this sorted. It’s such a huge shame.

My partner and I called in purely by chance as the pub over the road closed early and we wanted food. We were not disappointed! Both ordered burgers which were first rate and huge! The staff were lovely and welcoming. So happy the other pub was closed, will definitely be going back!

Loved it here, the sandwiches and burgers were much bigger than we expected. The lovely lady at the bar even gave us some boxes to take the leftovers home. No way would I have left without the leftovers. Tasty food!

We had a lovely afternoon meal at the squire today in the restaurant. Many thanks to the staff for getting us a table for 5 last minute. The pub was very busy due to the mop fair. Food was fantastic and service superb! The waitress was so good with our little girl. Only downside was the meal was slightly ruined by another customer being extremely rude to the waitress. Her attitude was disgusting towards the staff and it was unnecessary. Squire staff, you were incredible and keep up the good work! We can't wait to visit again 😊

Unfortunately disappointing - overpriced. At no point during our meal, or when paying, did a staff member ask how our food was.. if they had we'd have told them! I am not sure if restaurant customers are treated better than those eating in the bar - maybe reduce the cost of the food when dining in the bar if so (and don't put a service charge on bills when you have not tended to your guests!) The 'freshly made' beef mince burger was SO dried out - so dry it was tricky to swallow. And the Veggie risotto did not arrive with the ingredients I was told it would contain. A side of chips is about £4 and the dish is tiny! Real shame as this place is a treat for someone that is on a budget - and I think I wasted my money this time!

Nice location, and service was fast and excellent for a busy Sunday lunch. The Sunday roast was very tasty, the meat was very good quality and the portions were very generous. The gravy sauce can be requested on the side. Desserts were very nice too. Recommended.

I stay in Chipping Sodsbury every year due to work commitments, and always call in to The Squire for food and drinks. Incredible steak and friendly, helpful service. Free ice cream on a Monday night with a main.

The menu made it look like it was going to be decent but as soon as we walked in it was obvious that it was trying to look like something that it most certainly was not. We nearly left at this point but as we’d come quite a way to meet someone we stuck with it. The staff were a mixed bag, one lovely and one not so much. Some of my meal was served cold but my steak was quite nice although really nothing special. Another steak was dry, tasteless and chewy. Chef needs to go on a course of seasoning and sauce making, they were not good. Desserts were so basic and just standard bought in and sliced up, pop a scoop of ice cream on the side kinda things, the kind of pie they’re making a £6 profit on per slice, very posh pubby, without the posh. Serving peas as the one bit of colour on a £34 steak is unforgivable in my opinion. No self respecting restaurant is doing that these days and my one peas of advice would be to maybe try something different there. Also, either lower your prices or raise your quality as the two don’t really align right now. Although, saying that I’m really not too fussed as I won’t be going back but it might make you a little busier on a Saturday lunchtime. A note to anyone with young kids - it took nearly 2 and half hours to get served some steaks and a few desserts and the place was dead. The only things making this 2 stars were my steak and the good half of the staff’s friendliness, sadly not her attentiveness. Oh and the prices were not the same as on the website and the chips were not steakhouse chips.

Really good food and the burgers were amazing value for money. Fish & chips was also good sized portion. Looking forward to trying a steak soon. Great selection of wine, beer and gin and a lovely looking beer garden. Had quite a few gluten free options on the menu too.

Went out for dinner with lots of recommendations for this place so I was looking forward to it. It did not disappoint, delicious food, fantastic service, but pricey I guess that is to be expected with the standard of produce and ingredients and then the execution of cooking. The steak was cooked to how I asked the side of macaroni cheese was worth it. pudding was so so good!

Great location in the center of town. Excellent staff and food. Friendly locals and travelers. Cozy interior. Superb outdoor eating and drinking areas. Will do again.

The food served in this pub is simply incredible. I can't fault anything about my visit. The beer was excellent, the food was piping hot and well cooked as well as being flavoursome, the service was grand and the staff were very polite and attentive. I would highly recommend this establishment if you are in town and wish to dine out.

Food is fantastic, the issue was the waitress was really pushy and was hanging around our table alot which made us uncomfortable and it was difficult to enjoy our date night as we felt it was a sit eat pay leave process and no time to actually enjoy the food or a little conversation and drinks. They also have the auto added even tho it states optional service fee/tip and normally we wouldn't have minded but in this case it was 11% and when the waitress hadn't really been a good host or made us feel welcome we asked if this could be changed to 5% ( I honestly think 0 would have been appropriate however she did seem kind of new to the role so didn't want to be to harsh), we were then asked to sit and work out how much that would be and then how much the final bill would be which was not expected ( thought she would just be like "ill be right back with an amended bill")

Just had my first visit (since easing of lockdown) to local pub with my granddaughter and her partner and was very impressed with the system in place and the service. The food was amazing and staff were very welcoming, friendly and attentive. I particularly liked the seating arrangement which was safe but not overly clinical - well done everyone and Thankyou

Nice pub, nice staff, horrific food. Review is taking into account the fact I actually like the pub. The restaurant part we visited merited 1 star. Paid over £30 for the 240z ribeye. I really thought they couldn't get it that wrong. It was straight out of the 80s, charred so heavily it tasted of nothing but burn. A friend had the "souffle" for starter which was literally a thick cheesy soup puddle with no height to it. By all means go for the beer but dont eat there.

Neat and cozy place with a nice green garden! Meals were exceptionally great. I would definitely consider visiting it again. I highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding on the pictures for the sweets fans like myself!

This is the place to eat if you want a properly cooked quality steak. My lunch guest had the cod and chips, and remarked that it was fried better than his, up to now, favourite fish and chips in Brixham.

It's a big pub to please anyone , a sports. Venue and a big place dining room plus a huge garden for Summer to relax too

Lovely food, large portions and really well priced. Only down fall was having to wait 50 minutes for our starter and then another 50 minutes for our main once our plates had been cleared.

I haven't eaten steak out for a long as I am always disappointed but was very happy with my choice of rib eye excellent
