Every year, when the early autumn winds blow on the 210th day, in this hilly town on a mountain slope, melancholy dances accompanied by shamisen and kokyu singers are performed all night with the sounds of autumn insects in the background, creating a magical scene. You can enjoy a wonderful moment. The sight of women and men dancing, wearing their kimono hats deep over their heads and not showing their faces, is beautiful, and even after several years, I still feel like I'm in a dream I can't wake up from. I wasn't able to go again due to the coronavirus pandemic, but I definitely want to visit again soon.

Admission fee is 500 yen. Some electronic payments such as PayPay are also supported 💁‍♀️ There is an exhibition of Toyama's gorgeous Hikiyama floats, and a video exhibition about Owara Kaze no Bon. If you come to see the town of Yao, I think it's a good idea to stop by ☺️ There are also souvenir shops 💁‍♀️

There are three gorgeous floats on permanent display that remind you of the financial power of the Yao townspeople. It has been designated as a cultural property of Toyama Prefecture as a masterpiece of local culture that brings together the best of arts and crafts such as carving, metal engraving, lacquer work, and gold leafing. There is also a corner displaying materials related to sericulture, which was once the main industry of Yao. The ``Kaze no Bon Stage'' is held in the hall on the second and fourth Saturday of every month, and you can enjoy Owara to your heart's content with shamisen and kokyu performances, spectacular stage dances, and more.

The festival is very lively and crowded, so I went to the tourist center where you can experience the atmosphere of the festival. Before the coronavirus outbreak, demonstrations were held on weekends, but they are no longer held. It's a shame, because you can walk around the atmospheric townscape nearby.

I had some free time so I stopped by! There were no other customers, probably because it was a weekday and it was a little far from the center of Toyama city. The Hikiyama on display was incomparable to the floats I saw in Takayama, and the woodwork was so beautiful that I could stare at it for a long time! ︎As I had just visited without any information, my expectations were betrayed in a good way! Also, apart from the exhibition, the cityscape of Yao was also nice! There were no tourists, no souvenirs, just a quiet and quaint townscape, and I felt like I had traveled back in time lol.

(Translated by Google) I've been nearby once, but I couldn't park in the parking lot😅 I went through the area and found the parking lot was empty, so I went there🎵 Seeing the floats nearby, it was a powerful and powerful experience. I was satisfied 👍 (Original)

It was a must-visit place for people who love festivals, as there was a display of floats (fried floats used in festivals). I believe the entrance fee was 500 yen. When you go here, you can take a road that is listed as one of the top 100 roads in Japan, so you can kill two birds with one stone.

Please do your best without giving in to the earthquake. To the junior high school students who explained this to me, good luck in your life. I'll go visit again sometime. Stay well.

I visited the museum on the Friday after Golden Week. I didn't need a postcard gift with the JAF discount, so I wanted a discount of even 100 yen. I don't think you can afford 500 yen for this, but I don't recommend coming here after touring the Takaoka Dashi Museum, as you will be disappointed. It may have been good in the Meiji and early Showa eras, but now, in a city where depopulation is progressing, I think it would be difficult to have just Kaze no Bon. I had high expectations, but since I came outside of the Kaze no Bon season, I didn't need to travel 30 minutes one way from Toyama City just to see the hall, the Owara Odori dance, and the slopes. sorry.

(Translated by Google) I went to collect manhole cards. Why don't you come all the way and just get a card and not enter? strange! It was a very familiar place! I didn't know there was a silk mill! Kaiko's imago? Is this what happens? I learned a lot. I want to go to the festival next time!

(Translated by Google) At the exhibition hall, you can always see three Hikiyama floats along with the elegant Hikiyama Hayashi. The Hikiyama Festival, a spring festival event of Yao that has been passed down since the 1740s, is a symbol of the prosperity of Yao merchants who prospered in the production and trading of raw silk, silkworm seeds, Japanese paper, and charcoal.

(Translated by Google) The floats of the Hikiyama Festival are on display. The museum itself is small, but it's worth seeing because it's fine.
