It’s a bad experience…the restaurant is obviously understaffing that food is very slow and no changing service after finishing the dish. Food taste is not as same quality as the Japanese food should be. Not recommend.

Food was decent however wait times for food were very long. The staff also seemed a little lost when serving the food ie. they would place the food and not give us sauce or give us condiments 10 minutes later. The pork belly skewers were really really yummy! Would come again if better management and more prompt service.

Overall the food is great. But the fried tofu is too salty. The beef ribs is recommended if you like marbled beef, the miso soup is nice too. They also charge cover charge for 600 yen when they serve first drink

One of the must go in Happo area for me. Very nice food, nice presentation, best Service. Kind of a luxury isakaya with pick-up service.

Great atmosphere, wonderful staff, delicious food. What more could you ask for!?! Everything was great...... except, when they serve you water, you get a bottle of Crystal Gyser🤔🤔. WTH are they thinking!!!? This didn't fit with the decor, food or serving utensils. Please change this.

A wonderful place for foreign visitors. Great Japanese food and comfortable space. The restaurant is relatively sizable in Hakuba, which means you have higher chance to book a table. The building is an old Japanese house which gives the guests a glimpse into the structure of an old Japanese house. A nice dining experience.

We waited an hour for our food to arrive. The food quality was mediocre at best. The tempera rice box was warm in temperature when served. The smoke beef was chewey and under-seasoned.

Was looking promising. Got a booking and service was pretty quick. Ordered some hot pot for 2 and some chicken balls for the kids. Also asked if they had rice and was told no so just got some noodles for them to share. First up came out some miso which was really nice. I mean they brought 4 bowls out and we thought it was part of the experience. turns out those 4 bowls of miso which the kids didnt touch theirs cost us $20 on their own. Only found this out when we went to pay. The amount of meat we got for 2 on the hot pot was 100g at best. probably less. The hot pot was flavourless and i made the broth a bit better by adding the soy sauce into it. All up 3 drinks. chicken balls. and hot pit for 2 with noodles cost $100 (10,000yen) nearly died at that bill in all honesty. charging for the miso was taking the piss. Would never recommend. honestly thought we would get a bowl each for 1000-1500 yen each...

Reservation is recommended. Dining in a traditional Japanese house is a very special experience. The food is fantastic and service is ambience.

Very small meals. Expensive. Our sashimi was frozen and there was a hair in my soba. People were really nice though

Amazing Japanese restaurant set in a traditional farm house from the Edo period which was been fully restored. An absolute must for anyone coming to Hakuba.

Food was pricey but fantastic and the company even better. Beef rib skewers took the prize, closely followed by a fatty tuna dish. Make your own spring rolls was fun - could have been served with more rice but this was a great traditional meal.

Honestly not sure about the good reviews here on google. They got our reservation wrong and claimed we cancelled our reservation on the phone, although we were eventually seated. The restaurant is understaffed - dishes were served in a timely manner but you can tell the staff had to run catering to all sorts of requests. By the time we left, the dining room was full of tables with dishes stacked all over the place and none of the tables were cleared, which is frankly quite a surprise, especially in Japan. Dishes were a hit-or-miss, some of them just unauthentic. The restaurant is converted from an old building, which is a nice concept, but with this price-quality ratio, there are better dining options in Hakuba.

Average service and food. Not a place I would return. Added some orders which weren't not placed. It's a place for foreign tourists not expecting good Japanese food.

Portions are very small, we ordered 2 servings of pork shabu shabu and 2 servings of beef and there was barely anything, not enough to feed 4 as advertised. Price is definitely overpriced definitely tourist trap. Would NOT recommend! Prices dont even include tax and they charge 500 yen for miso soup.
