Mixed feelings about this place. I’ll start with the positives and end with the negatives: - Perfect location to discover Yogya (we didn’t like Yogya, but that’s another story) - The hotel looks very cool on both the outside and inside, with lots of greenery. - The room has a comfortable big bed, good pillows and an airconditioning that does the trick. - The staff is not very polite, as in, they barely great or notice you when you walk in. But if you ask something they will be friendly to help you. - The hotel presents itself as an eco-friendly sustainable operation, including a cool agricultural greenhouse on the rooftop. It’s a nice idea… but… Negatives: - The hotel doesn’t seem that eco-friendly. Plastic shampoo bottles, airconditioning that’s consuming lots of energy by default, all lights turn on when you enter the room, a old fridge that is humming all night. - During our stay there were constantly 10-12 Indonesian men sitting in the lobby smoking cigarettes and watching woman walk by. They were rude, and the smell of the smoke is really awful. You enter the lobby after a long day of busy Yogya and you get this fume and faces looking at you. They were there for the restaurant, which brings me to the following. - The restaurant is really really horrible. It’s primarily Indonesian food, which could be perfect. But it’s not. Tasteless, greasy, poor ingredients and too much of everything. Looks like quantity of choice over quality of meal. And also totally not eco/healthy oriented. - The room is small, and aside from some plants it doesn’t have a whole lot of ambiance. - The bed we had was super wobbly. It felt like there was small earthquakes happening, because of this weird wobble. Even when we’re laying still. - The pool is not as inviting as we hoped. Only 3 beds to lay on, smoking men next to the pool, not really a way to make yourself comfortable. Overall a fair hotel, price bit steep but compared to Bali hotels cheap. But then again there are cheaper hotels in the street that are a better value.

It was a great experience staying here overall. The room was confortable, the interior of the hotel was refreshing since you can see a lot of plants here, the service was exceptionally good and the staffs were friendly and helpful! Unfortunately, when I stayed here last month there was a birthday party celebration at the restaurant that held from around 5 pm to 10.30 pm. The sound check started at around 4 pm. It was loud and no information about it shared to us beforehand. It was loud (of course) and became louder because the restaurant located in the ground floor beside the pool which is an open space. Moreover, the design of the building (the center of the ground floor was the pool and the building/rooms surround it) made the sound to be heard more clearly to our room. The pool itself was closed earlier because of it. I don't know why it was held at night in the open space restaurant while most people staying at hotel are to rest. Fortunately, I was going out at 7 pm and came back at 9.30 pm. So, I didn't experience how loud it was because even at 10 pm the party was still going on and obviously disturbing. I called the lobby to asked when will the party stopped, then he apologized and said it would end soon, but the soon took long enough. I really wish the hotel told us beforehand about the event.

Overall it is great experience while staying here for a few nights. A few things can be improved: the room does not have many power plug/point, so for two people in room in this modern device is a bit tricky (not sure whether the reception can lend us the cable extension since we didnt bother to check). Also the breakfast menu is mostly Indonesian food, few selection of western food but what actually need to be improved beside the selections is the desserts, it does not taste sweet at all (maybe it is adjusted to healthy option, I am not that sure). Strategic location and customer-centric service from most of staff.

Having a good time for 3days staying here. Wonderful green interior as it is wellknown with, friendly and helpful staffs, great food with various kind of menu. Clean room, not really spacious but enough for two. I'm sad that I didn't have time to enjoy the pool. Would like to stay here again.

Greenhost Hotel offers a refreshing green atmosphere that sets a calming tone for the stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff's friendliness further enhances the overall hospitality of the establishment.

Very disappointing for an “eco hotel” to have so much single use plastic, no where to refill bottles, rooms stocked with single use plastic bottles, every drink came with a plastic straw already in it, single use toothbrushes and other toiletries in room. Also talks about being vegan however has very limited vegan/vego options on the menu The gym is small and basic and has no fan very hot to use! AC’s in the rooms desperately need to be serviced so loud, lots of fan banging and dripping noises make it hard to sleep. The hotel is beautiful, the service was wonderful but I think “eco hotel” is a stretch and you could probably get more for less in this area

Words to describe this hotel; low budget, simple, yet wonderfully unique. Great service. Tasty and varied breakfast. Love the fresh salad which they grow some of the veggies themselves on the rooftop. We can see the rooftop garden and buy some plants here. We can smell lemongrass and mint around the hotel, it's relaxing. Their toiletries are unique: it was my first time having lemongrass fragrant soap in a hotel. Funny sign on the backdoor of the room, love it! Recommended hotel around Yogyakarta.

Hotel was under renovation, making it unpleasant with all the knocking sounds. Room was just okay, came here because of AADC movie, won’t repeat tho. around the hotel they have nice eateries and cafes, very friendly and helpful staff. They follow strict sustainibility rules, we ordered extra mineral water, they wouldn’t comply although we stayed more than 2nights and we only asked for extra bottle once. so this contributed to the 3stars.

Greenhost is a truly unique and refreshing hotel that offers a calming and serene experience. The hotel is adorned with beautiful green plants, creating an inviting and peaceful atmosphere. The artistic touches throughout the hotel give it a creative and modern feel. One of the most standout features of Greenhost is their aromatherapy. The calming scents create a soothing environment that will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. It's the perfect way to unwind after a long day of exploring the city. The rooms at Greenhost are spacious and comfortable, with stylish furnishings that match the hotel's overall aesthetic. The beds are cozy and plush, ensuring a good night's sleep. The staff are friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with any requests. The hotel's eco-friendly initiatives are impressive, from their use of solar energy to their commitment to reducing waste. You can feel good about staying at Greenhost knowing that you're supporting a hotel that cares about the environment. Overall, Greenhost is a wonderful hotel for those looking for a relaxing and tranquil experience. With its calming green and artsy vibes, you'll feel right at home in this beautiful and unique hotel. Highly recommended!

Friendly staff, very calm and relaxing setting. As a non guest, we missed breakfast (it finishes at 10am) but we're able to sit and choose from an a la carte menu. A decent and varied menu, I recommend the iced chocolate. I strongly recommend!

If you concern about climate change and recycle things, this hotel very recommended. From outside through Lobby then pool area, every floor to the top all green, back to nature awesome.. Room spacious enough with wooden decoration. Breakfast so good, many choices than i guess, the most important things are friendly staff and cleaniness room/public space..

Eco living hotel. Nice and clean room. Nice ambience. Great staff. Really worth the price! It'd be better to provide a mini fridge inside the room, at least it'll be useful for a breastfeeding mother like me. 👍 👍

I love this hotel. My first time here, every staff will smile and greet you warmly. The room and their service are excellent. One thing needs to be improved is the breakfast. From the menu and the quality of the food, I hope next time they can serve fresh fruits and food. I will always order sunny side up since I am wanting to have a fresh bfast. It is kinda boring for 5 nights stay. Overall, I will definitely go back to this place.

Clean, hospitable, decent breakfast (although not special), nice location, good on the eyes (greenery everywhere). Best of all: the rooms were perfect according to my personal taste, visually pleasing. Also the bed was big, which is a huge plus

Beautiful hotel in a great area. The hotel is beautiful, neat, and feels brand new. With clean rooms and amazing staff. The facilities are nice and the pool is amazing. If you're planning on staying here, I would recommend visiting Senso Batik for real Batik clothing.

Strategic location within the heart of touristy places in Jogjakarta. The room is clean, if you like recycled things used in interior, you will love this place. They have a unique greenhouse theme for the hotel corridors, making it quite an experience. They also use mint plants and repel mosquitoes. The pool is unique but quite small. The gym is small, but adequate enough.

eco boutique styled hotel located in prawirotaman area, estimated only 2km to malioboro street and alun alun (about 10-15minutes with motorcycle). overall the hotel was great, plants all over the places. they have hidroponic garden on the rooftop, and hidroponic mint in front of the room. room was clean enough and comfy, however the in room tv wasn’t working well as I couldn’t change the tv channel. bathroom was okay, clean enough with 2 towels provided. if you need any hairdryer or iron, we need to call to the receptionist and will be provided based on availability so make sure to borrow it upon check in. surrounding area has many resto and cafe which can be reach by walking. I bought room with bfast and the bfast was okay, not many menus provided but enough. over all this hotel was good with great service and friendly staffs. cleanliness : 8/10 comfort : 8/10 resto & bfast : 7/10 area : 8/10 price : 7/10

The position is not far from the Kraton which can be reached on foot, and is perfect for city tours along the narrow alleys typical of Yogya. The rooms are clean, comfortable, with simple wood accents. The room service staff is very helpful. The internet is fast, and it's close to restaurants and eateries that range from local specialties to Mediterranean food.

What a beautiful hotel in the middle of the major tourist area of Yogyakarta! Truly incredible concept and staff is so friendly and helpful! Will be visiting greenhost everytime I come to Yogyakarta!

Heavenly oasis in the busy Jogja. If you search for more than a 5star experience, come here. The hotel looks better than any pictures, the hydroponic garden is a piece of art on its own, could easily compete with botanical gardens. Food and drinks once again, spectacular. The whole hotel smells like lemongrass spa. Loved it! And the most amazing is the helpful and kind staff with a constant smile on their faces. I love the place. Would love to come back!

As a solo traveler, my recent stay at Greenhost Boutique Hotel was pleasant. Location wise, this hotel is strategically situated with easy access to many local favorite cafes and restaurant, plus a stone’s throw to malioboro street. Although my room lacked an ironing board and hairdryer, the concierge quickly provided these amenities upon request. The warm and cozy room, coupled with friendly and accommodating staff, made me feel right at home and at ease. While some noise from surrounding neighbor’s could be heard at times, this was a minor inconvenience. Overall, the hotel exudes a pleasant and relax vibe, making it a good choice for solo or group travelers seeking an eco friendly and comfortable stay in Jogjakarta.

The hotel is nested in a quiet street of Jogja and located closed to nice restaurants, art galleries and antique shops. If the location is good and the hotel concept appealing the execution, services and experience is below average. Here are some examples: check-in even if there are rooms available hotel request extra 200k for early check-in (before 2pm), Spa is advertised but closed during Covid and not re-opened since, concept store ran by external owner who is not from Jogja we’ve been told and when (s)he is not in town it is closed, the hotel has a fleet of 2/3 cars but trips must be booked at least 2 days in advance because even though they have cars they do not have drivers, on a rainy day we were allowed to borrow only 1 umbrella for a family of 5 people, the lobby and restaurants places are dark,…. So beware. I don’t think that the hotel is worth it’s 3-stars rating - you will find nothing that is shown in the picture below

The Ambiance is Impecable. We arrive in the middle of the night with my team. I have to say, one of the best lobby hotel i've ever see. The whole area is smell nice and most importantly the room doesnt smell as strong as the lobby. The room is decent but clean yet unique. It looks very organic and the bed is lower that usual bed. The bathroom is also uniqe, it looks like made of stones and monochromatic. The area is kinda bad. It is in the middle of alley which doesnt have wide room for car parks.

Nice ambient but average room. The hotel concept is green house with swimming pool in the middle which is nice, but my largest dis comfort is the bathroom dont have faucet, only shower.

Great hotel with a botanical theme. Lots of plants all over which give a nice atmosphere. Rooms are good, not very big but has everything you need. Very helpful staff and very nice tuktuk driver out front who will drive you anywhere you need to go. I can recommend this place wholeheartedly.

5 stars for all categories! The room was great! It's just perfect for two friends travelling together. We had enough space for all our belongings (which was a lot for 2 girls!) We had a good time enjoying the tv provided in the room. I was actually surprised seeing how many ppl complained and gave a low star rating on google for such an amazing hotel! The service was great too! The staff was obviously well trained and served guests politely. We had people helping us with our enormous amount of luggage right after we parked (unlike the comments said). The location is super strategic, right in the heart of prawirotaman. I had an amazing time touring the whole hotel facilities. The pool is beautifully placed in the middle of the lush green hotel, the mint surrounding the rooms smelled nice. They also have a creative hydrophonic farm on their top floor. I came with 3 of my girl friends, and we all LOVED LOVED LOVED the place. I will definitely come back to enjoy this experience again :D

firstly, the room and shower was very clean and the room didnt feel stuffy, which was REALLY important. the room was very hot, i think the AC was too small for the room bcs it was always on the coldest setting but the room was still very hot. the room was a little to dim i had to open the curtain while doing my makeup, in a very hot room. the shower was too dark bcs there was only 1 yellow lamp and i couldn’t completely close the shower door without it being locked. there wasnt many spacious table where i could put my stuff on. the wifi was slow. the breakfast was just ordinary, decent but not great. honestly wasnt worth Rp 100k. the service was standard like any 3 stars hotel should be. plus point for the free vallet parking! location was great, prawirotaman street is in downtown area and there so many hang out or dining place within walking distance. honestly wont come back, too much work for the dark and hot room lol. a hotel that concerns unnecessary decorated room more than a comfy room too edgy for me.

Nice place to stay. Small hotel in the city center of Jogja. Closed to anywhere. Chose to stay here thanks to AADC movie. Breakfast option is decent, standard. The staff is healpful. I love how greeny the hotel is. Feel refreshed looking at the plants. Good option to stay with family

I really like this hotel :))). Its very green and the idea of using hydroponics on the roof and around the railing is very genius. (I like the smell and the ambience) And on top of it. This place serve the best and freshes salad i ever had :00000.

My second time here and honestly I keep coming back every time I'm in Jogja. The service and staff are wonderful, attentive, and helpful. The wifi is very good so it allows me to work from my hotel room. The food is pretty good and affordable for hotel food, and they host lots of events/special occasions to keep staying there interesting and exciting. Even in the hot Jogja weather, the area stays cool because of the greenery. It's charming and clean, as well as homey for a hotel! Not to mention its prime location. Best!!!

Staying on 2 type of room, the twin beds are lower than the queen size bed. Beware of the edge of the wood bed cause I got hit on the same spot couple times :( There is no chair back rest for one of the twin beds room so it’s uncomfortable to use it for work

It was okay experience. The idea of industrial design is nice. Unfortunately there are many aspects need to be addressed such as the room floor that made from polished cement. It was so slippery. The bathroom mat did not help, it became more slippery. Do not use the sandal, it's so slippery. Well I love the bathroom. It was spacious and has a long space of container to put your own bathroom items.

I love Greenhost Boutique Hotel so much. This hotel is very different with the other hotels in which it offers"green" in every corner of this hotel and this is incredibly amazing. I felt amazed when I came in to this hotel for the first time. There are many beautiful plants here. I love it very much. Moreover, the staffs are truly helpful and friendly. There was a staff who was really helpful. He showed me the way. Thank you so much. I wish I could come here again. Thank you.

I wasn't here for a night but just to meet up with colleagues and working at the restaurant On my opinion this place great, the atmosphere is nice with green plants nuance The air is fresh, you will feel refreshed due to a lot of oxygen generated by the green plants surround you. Food was also nice, but maybe the presentation should be fixed a little bit, the crackers, white color, is not nice with the nasi goreng color but it just my personal preference

Very nice hotel, green, and decent sized rooms and bathrooms. The decor shows some signs of age, e.g. peeling paint, rust and old doors for the bathrooms. But overall it is fine and feels clean. There is lots of good eco stuff, but still offering 2 plastic bottles of water per day. Location is good and staff are friendly.

Overal was okay experience, i love the environmental friendly design, lot of greens planted around the hotel plus quiet instagrammable spot i would say. Room design is good , minimalist design with wood pattern around & some recycled art works as a wall deco which you may purchase it upon request. However many aspects are missing & need to improve: - HK trolley is making a noise when they are moving around on the deck, should be minimize it by chossing better wheel - hotel provide coffee/tea facility but only 1 teaspoon was set...expect double occupancy & 2 pcs teaspoon should be set (how do you expect guest to stir the coffee😁) - head bed was not actually integrated with bed, so bed was easy to move /moveable plus the floor was Sliperry (even though i love the antique/vintage cement flooring) , i would expect the need to put a rubber/carpet mat for the bed legs - sliding door in toilet is noisy (room 215) - breakfast menu was very standard, i love the veggie juice, but most of the food is cold (check your chafing dish) , Empty plates was not clear more than 45min) - waiter need to be more attentive! - interior design was great but look tired need more touch up/re paint on floor, wall - value for money: is okay for 3*hotel considering the location is close to Alun2 & malioboro but with same room rate we can get better room in other location in jogja (even 4* hotel)

  • 4/5 Putri A. 2 years ago on Google
Great concept, great ambience. This hotel combines industrial theme and Environmental friendly concept. Every corner is decorated by installations of hydroponic, recycle stuff and wood materials. Choices of food in their resto, they also provide Iftar menus during Ramadhan. The taste is okay. Rooms are clean, staffs are friendly and helpful, but the parking area isn't too spacious. Find the best rate and book from their website.

Been staying here twice, and had a pleasant moment here. the location of the hotel is quite good, close to the Alun Alun Kidul and other tourists destinations in Jogja. The room rate is pretty good too, considering the cleanliness - the tidiness of the rooms & the friendly staffs. The only thing that bugs me was the parking lot. When there are lots of guests who bring their own vehicles, its kind of difficult to park the cars or the motorbikes. But, all in all, I had pretty good experiences staying here.

This hotel try to offer environmentally designed building. The breakfast are traditional Javanese cousins like nasi goreng, orek2 etc. With some cakes. Coffee is too plain. Decoration is too simple. Room is also too simple and make it in practical for working-class visitors like me. Internet is also frequently off.

  • 4/5 Sua T. 2 years ago on Google
Lots of good things about this place. Love the eco-friendly touches everywhere. Atmosphere from outside to inside. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. Staff are amazing and lots of respect. Restaurant was decent with good selections. Boardroom was very nice to be able to use although AC would have been great in there. Rooms are terrific with comfortable bed. Interesting rocks and pebbles in the bedroom near the window. Things they could improve: Cleaning staff should remove empty bottles, cups, bowls etc from the table (if we're gone for the day). Bathroom door needs adjustments (rollers are stuck or needs oil). Lots of mosquitos around the pool area and near restaurant (need to get mosquito repellant or citronella to keep them out of the restaurant area while we eat would have been nice). This property is in middle of town so not in the bush to warrant mosquitos infestation... Good for your money? Yes. I'll be back if I'm in Yogyakarta.

The room is quite good. Mine facing parking lot, but it's okay. The natural ambiance of the room is kinda cute, but a bit too dark at night. The location is perfect, in city center. Many good spot within the area. Restaurants, cafe, traditional market, art center etc are walking distance.

All corners of this eco-green-concepted hotel are unique and relaxing. From facet of the building to small details gave me new experience. The ambience and design was excellent. The elevator, the room, even soaps are all herb-scented. The price is relatively affordable for what you'll get. The drawbacks were just limited parking space and the bed frame.

Loved this place! Hotel with nature touch, First time come here like entering cave then find secret jungle 😁, everything set up with clean and smells good (i think that's lemongrass scent). Green of plant, brown of wood, and gray of wall in everywhere my eyes goes. And this hotel was officially hotel for indonesian film's, AADC 2
