It is one of the best museum I have found. The staff are very friendly (it is the characteristic of the people of Jogjakarta) and the museum is not too big, so you can enjoy the collection of this museum without getting tired. I love that all of this place is air conditioned. You can also know the father of cypher/code in Indonesia here. Surprise, surprise! There is something that you will get from the staff. What is that? Are you curious? Please visit the museum, especially because no ticket fee. This place is easily accessible and not too far from Malioboro.

This museum is underrated. It's full of historical story. The building itself is the original witness for cryptography development in Indonesia. There are information texts in English for international visitors. Unfortunately, some information texts were covered with the collections. Entrance ticket was free, there's parking space available. Too bad that they only have few visitors for a day. The staff was informative and friendly if you'd like to ask more questions regarding the coding and history. The whole visitation will take time about 60 minutes, including watching the video.

The museum is quiet as the guests were just my friend and me. We got a guide to explore and tell us about the museum things. Bot the ticket and guide were free. I was sleepy so I didn't pay proper attention thorough the explanations from the guide. The museum is located in strategic place and famous people tend to visit this museum too. So, if you're lucky, you can meet those people in your next visit. The Instagram page is also updated with knowledge and information about intelligence unit and cryptography.

We really love this museum, not only they are open when public holiday, but also for the guidance.. how they tell us the story behind every stuff, moments, pictures and people who involved. If you come to yogyakarta, especially with your kids, you need to give this museum a visit. The museum it self was very clean n tidy. They do a really good job to preserve all of the stuff. I agree most of the visitors said, this museum is underrated..

One of the most underrated museums in Yogyakarta but one of the best :) Located in the area of Kotabaru, the place is quite difficult to notice since it looks like an ordinary colonial house. People might pass it and find themselves in front of the hotel - which is more visible. The great part about the museum is it opens also on Sundays! You can come and the guide will welcome you kindly. You will get a small code paper for a small game later. The rooms are clean, has great audio and good condition collections. The guide will be with you for the first 2-3 rooms, explaining about the history of codes. Then you can freely explore the museum. You will not get lost because the place is quite small. Then you can continue to the second floor where a game room exists. You can play codes game in the cozy room. It's better to come with small groups since the rooms for the exhibitions are usually small. Sunday morning and other mornings are usually quiet so it's a good time for a visit.

When I went to this place, I was amazed with their hospitality. I got a caesar Cipher, a souvenir, that it is used to play with words and code. They provided me with a whole explanation of the history of code since Sumerian Era until Indonesia Independence day. I saw all of the code machine and later,I play with the code game in the computer. I failed to break the code, but I was happy. I had a fruitful day with new knowledge. I definitely recommend all of you to come to this place. Its free of charge.

We came during the weekday after Christmas 2022.They should have opened after 9 am but they had a fire hazard training in the morning. However the staff was very friendly and welcomed our group right away. The guide played the video and then guided us through the rooms. She was very thorough in her explanation and accompanied us to the second floor. The visit was free. Thank you for giving me and the kids the information about the history of cryptology in Indonesia. PS: the building where the museum is housed aged over 100 years old. It was the Foreign Ministry building during the 1940s era. Lots of history!

Operational hours: 8AM-3PM Entrance fee: None Parking space: Yes Had a blast at this place! I came here alone on a rainy thursday noon. There were no other visitors and when when guide said "Please follow me," my anxiey and introverted-ness almost got the best of me. But I waited for a long time for my gojek, I might as well go through. There's no entrance fee, you just have to fill out a guest book and check in with Peduli Lindungi. The collections were well-kept, clean (quite extensive too for a field so specific), but the rooms were a bit chilly. The guide gave a very thorough explanation (he quizzed me as well, which, kinda freaked me out lol). All displays have QR codes and extensive written info as well. Super interesting! Obviously a well-managed museum. I didnt take any photos inside because it felt wrong haha (but i'm sure the guide wouldn't mind it!)

National Encryption Museum (hope this translate right), shows the history of indonesian special forces during Deutch occupation and the development of encryption technology during war times. Included the technological marvel from Russia, German, Ukraine, and even local made for text and phone encryption. From Gramedia building, head straight to tugu jogja but take left after McD restaurant, you will find the building in the middle of the road.

Entrance to this museum is free, and there's even guided tour if you want extra explanation. Mostly exhibits tools and history related to cryptography, the place is located not fat from city centre (easy to access). And inside there's air conditioner which makes visiting there comfortable. Maybe for improvement, this place would be much better if there's more collection (for example interactive animation/ diorama). Overall, very worth to visit

Reachable because It's in strategic location at the centre of Jogja city. This museum is nice and clean. Unfortunately, not many people know about this place, yet. This museum not only provides an interesting collection of crytoplogy thingies, but also provides facilities that you can use for a public event here at the museum.

It's a place to learn about the history of the cryptography in Indonesia with the authentic things that is still stored and kept by the currator. It's a new experience for us because in the beginning, the system is restricted and not publically for everyone. Join the adventure and feels the happiness

Oke first off all, not many people know about this place. This museum small, but simply beautiful, full of knowledge, free, fun, and challenging. This museum show you so many type of code, including the machine and the people who included and experienced to make a code. Even thou the museum is not that big, but you can find many code and try to find the answer by your self, or with your mate and friends. Come to here, it's a unique museum in Yogyakarta. You can even take a photo while wearing an old indonesian civil uniform.

There is no entrance ticket (it is free). The museum itself is not that big, the collection is not that many, but you can still get so many information about the cryptography and its history in Indonesia and some parts of the world. On the wall in one of the rooms on the 2nd floor, you can find several interesting story about cryptography. The staff there is also friendly and helpful.

An underrated museum in Jogja. The only coding museum in Indonesia. It is such a unique museum that will give you new insights and answer your curiosity about coding in past life. Unfortunately they don't provide "official guide". But there are many internships who explain the detailed information.
