We visited Batik shops in Yogya but this shop is the only one you need to visit. That was in Dec 2019, just before Covid. We purchased 4 paintings then. Later in September 2021 I contacted the shop online and with them showing me many paintings on WhatsApp I just purchased 8 paintings and 4 sarongs. Aside from vast selection the shop is a pleasure to do business with. Thanks to Linda who showed unlimited patience over 2 weeks untill I made my selections.

This was such a fun experience during our stay in Yogyakarta!! Everyone was really helpful during the whole process and helped us get the most out of the workshop. We contacted Seno on Instagram to arrange a meeting time in the morning. Free drink included in the price. This workshop is a great activity and you get to take a personal piece of art back home with you. Highly recommend you do this!!

A very good alternative activity when in Jogja, especially to those who love art and crafting. They offer short course Batik for kids to adult, so fun!

We bought Batik pieces here. They were nice, but quite expensive. The price you pay for not having reference prices, I suppose. Inform yourself beforehand to have better negotiation basis

Much to choose from here ( contemporary to tradition designs) and the opportunity to watch the process. Prices are much less than Malioboro area.

Family owned business with an old tradition. The owners are very passionate about their work and are willing to walk you through how batik paintings are brought to life. There is a mesmerizing choice of patterns and different artists. Highly suggest a tour through the boutique!

I really enjoyed the batik course I took here. Over the course of three hours, I made a piece of art to take home. Everyone was really friendly and patient with me, instruction was fantastic, and I really got to understand what goes into making a handmade piece. 300k for the course.

I spent two days here, one looking at all the paintings and clothes, another doing a workshop which was SO GOOD! The team here are very relaxed and attentive, making sure you get the best of the day. They are also very knowledgeable about their resident artists, the artists they commission work from and the different techniques used. I'd recommend going early for the workshop, starting before midday, because you can have more time and work on a bigger piece. Linda even took photos and videos of the work for you as you go so you can have a memory of the day without having to stop and get your phone out, which i loved as a solo traveller! The clothes I bought are an excellent quality of fabric and beautifully tailored, as well as having stunning prints and freehand batik. It felt really calm and supportive and authentic here, I'm really glad to have found them.

My mom and i wanted to discover the process of fabrication for the batik. Andi and his familly provide us Swift and good first introduction to the batik art that allowed us to produce our own batik. We have been able to bring them back with us as a very nice souvenir. I am recomanding people who wants to learn something during their holidays to go there.

If you wanna see Batik process, come to this place. It is a traditional gallery. You could see how the artists work on their batik. You could get batik courses to learn how to make batik. I took the short class which cost Rp75k, I got a handkerchief size batik and a memorable experience. Thank you Batik Seno team!

One of my favorite experiences of our stay in Indonesia. This factory is very great, we loved the workshop we did today and the people who work there are really lovely. You can see that they work with passion and want to pass on their knowledge and share their art. Go there, it's great, you won't regret it. Thanks again for everything!

I took the full process lesson and spent the whole day working on my batik shoulder to shoulder with professional artists who helped me patiently through the whole process. It’s such a delicate and exquisite technique which takes a lot of steps and you feel like a part of wonder. There’s nice background music that helps a lot to dive into the painting, free refreshments for everyone. I am not an artist but my result was beautiful because of all the support I had. The gallery itself is interesting and have a lot of unique batiks. I highly recommend this experience. They have short lessons as well.

My wife really enjoyed the class at Seno painting. I stopped by for a bit and was able to see the incredible Batik process. Genie and her other classmate were so happy you could feel the energy:). And we have a nice painting to hang and we bought tow more! So unique thank you

This class is wonderful! If you’re into sewing, fabrics, or just curious how to make a Batik, definitely stop here! They have a long class and a short class. We took the longer class. If you also decide to do this, I recommend coming early in the morning since the process takes awhile (about 5 hours- mostly depends on how intricate your design is). The staff here are incredibly patient with everyone and are very supportive! You will hand draw your design (which took us about 2 hours), then you get to go through the process of covering it in wax and dying the fabric. The staff are there every step of the way and will help you with the difficult parts. This was a hands on experience where we got to learn how to make Batiks and really see all the work that goes into it. I would definitely stop by here again and make another if I’m in town!

The art and workshop were amazing. We walked into look at the textiles and then were shown the process of making the Batik cloths and paintings. Melinda was so nice, showing us the techniques and examples. We set up a morning to go back and take the short workshop. The class was so fun and everyone was helpful through each step. We bought a few professional ones as souvenirs/gifts. A great experience in Yogyakarta!

We visited in August 2023. Nice atmosphere. The process of painting batik was explained very well and there is a wide collection of batik paintings for sale. While being at home now, I'm glad I can still enjoy this batik painting 'Unity in diversity'.

👍👍 Warm and nice place. I visited Yogyatourium to attend Minutes of Managers Jogja event last week, and the place was really nice. I haven’t explored all of the building, but I can see it’s really a good place to work, to shop, to have a chat with friends, or even to hold a community event.
