Best breakfast deal in PEI! English muffin breakfast with egg, cheese and bacon - $2.99!!!!! For Breakfast in town there’s one place to go! Prices are good, big selection, quality is great and everyone is friendly. It has an old-fashioned diner feel. Love their lunch options and daily specials too! Today’s corned beef dinner. Monday’s is lasagna and Caesar salad!!! Best pies and cakes in PEI! Coconut Cream pie, Carrot Cake and Apple Pie top my list. If you call ahead you can order a whole cake or pie for a party or big dinner. (Deposit req for pie dish) Great daily specials. Love their Monday’s lasagna special. Fries with the works too! Two-ways! Turkey dinner works or ground burger works! Expect a line, but it moves fast! All the locals are regulars. That’s the best way to find good eats and fair pricing on PEI. Worth it!

Went here just before leaving PEI and although its standard diner fare, everything tasted so so fresh and I especially liked the sausages. Not to mention every potato I ate on the island tasted phenomenal.

This is our go to breakfast place on the island. Wonderful food and service. Priced affordably. You will need to arrive early if you do not want a long wait. Also parking can be tricky if you are not there early. This is a popular island eatery and for good reason. We have never been disappointed!

Great breakfast and lunch restaurant friendly fast service. The food and service deserve 5 out of 5 stars, the only real downfall to this restaurant was the bathrooms needed to be kept cleaner there was quite an odor we're generally just dirty and was easy to see that they just weren't cleaned enough. A detail that must be taken care of for a positive dining experience

I got the Marian’s Turkey wrap and it was like Christmas dinner in a wrap, so so so good. My lunch date had Bacon Cheese dog with onion rings, and they said it was awesome. All around great place to eat. There is a line during peak hours, but it moves along pretty good.

Wow! What an amazing restaurant!this place was a hopping! All the servers were awesome! It was so nice to hear them chatting away to each other and hearing the laughter. The food was so good that we bought some of the homemade goodies such as cinnamon buns, butter tarts, and date squares. We love supporting mom and pops business, and we definitely support this one 100% Keep it up on whatever you are doing to keep these awesome servers, cooks etc!

(Updated May 2023) If you like CINNAMON ROLLS, you haven't lived until you try Maid Marian's. They are a "quick bread" type recipe (as opposed to a brioche or yeast dough), but how they get them so melt-in-your-mouth moist, without it being a leavened dough, is a mystery to me! Perfect soft and crunchy texture, with the right amount of cinnamon, sugar and butter, from the inside of the roll all the way to the outside! At around $5 each they are a bit pricier than most, however they are monster sized, easily equivalent to 2 or more "normal" sized cinnamon rolls! See my photo with glasses above for scale. You can also buy 6 for $29 and save the 15% tax. Delicious!

A definite recommend! Very reasonable price, friendly staff, goo food. Their milkshakes are on the sweeter side, not exactly what I like, but that’s just me. Overall, great value for the food and service you’d get there.

Wanted something quick and decently priced. When we pulled up it was a full parking lot which is always a good sign. We walked in and we’re seated within minuets. We had barely put in our order and BAM foods at our table. Hot and fresh. Our server was there anytime we needed her. The staff were all smiling and cheerful. Can’t wait to come back.

When I lived on the Island I would eat at Maid Marian's every Friday. Now I live in NB but when I visit PEI I always stop in. I highly recommend eating here home style cooking and the staff is always friendly. Makes you feel like family. 👌❤️👍

Our first trip to PEI, decided to try Maid Marion's for lunch. We had the burger. It was homemade, but no mayo or sauce on the burger so it was very dry. The mustard & relish were small plastic packages. Fries were good, chicken gravy too. Never checked on us, nor offered refills of drinks. We wouldn't go again.

Was looking forward to a nice homemade meal , walked in and waited at door for ten minutes. Decided to sit at counter as someone walked in after us and got served right away . We sat down ( no hello no nothing ) then a woman walked in ( we had been there for 15 min at this point . ) she sat at counter and was greeted immediately and had a drink in front of her in no time . We sat for a few more minutes still no one acknowledged us . So we walked out . So very disappointed. When the owners away ...the staff will ignore guests .

Had the fries with the works a tea bisquet and balongna. Very good. Tea bisquet was alittle dry but still good. They were huge.

We felt a bit rushed during our visit. The food was 'classic'. The waitress looked like she wasn't happy that we had trouble ordering.

It’s a diner. The service was a little slow, but… not glacial. I waited at the host stand for a while before seating myself at the counter. I waited again, maybe 3 or 4 minutes until someone noticed me, then they took my order quickly and the food came out shortly after. The order was correct and it was…. Ok. Average burger and salad. Exactly what I asked for. I’m not probably ever going to go back. The only reason I chose this over other places is their large windows in the front where I could keep an eye on my motorcycle. Which was perfect. I didn’t give them an extra star for that.

Awesome food. Huge portions. Good prices. Fast friendly service. Must haves: cinnamon roll and an entire carrot cake to go.

The food was good, prices not bad and portion sizes were good. Sadly it was extremely busy and the way we were served was not fantastic. We felt rushed, I ordered a poutine and my plate got handed to me with just fries and gravy, I waited a bit for a waitress which she took it back, it came back with a small amount of cheese but it was still really good. Feel like they need more staff so the waitresses aren’t so stressed out.

Very friendly staff. Good food and plates get filled right up. They have quite a few people who work in the kitchen, so you get your food pretty quick, even in the middle of a rush. I've been going here for years, and I rarely have any complaints.

Our first time here was an amazing experience. Super fast service. I had the breakfast bowl which was delicious. Highly recommend that. We I'll absolutely be back here the next time we are in P.E.I.

It has a very chill and laid-back atmosphere, lovely staff and the food was delicious. Good selection of options to choose from without getting too overwhelmed, only down side was the meal was so filling I had no room for desert, and boy the pies looked amazing. If it wasn't for tiny fridges at the hotel, I might have taken one with me.

Authentic PEI diner, favoured by locals. Service is absolutely exceptional. All the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. You can feel the love in the food, too. Value for money is really good.

This place has been on list of places to go evert time we come to prince Edward Island. All the breakfast dishes are good and the two times we have been for lunch or dinner have also been great.

We sat down. We waited. People started filling open tables next to us. Still waited. They got served first. They got their drinks and food orders in. We were still waiting. At this point we left when we realized we were not going to be served. Normally Maid's is solid but this rubbed us the wrong way and we will just be taking out business elsewhere now. Who ignores a table of paying customers?

Came in for lunch. We have come regularly over the years and service is usually fine. Today it was not. We were sat by the door greeter. We sat for 20 minutes never saw our waitress except to see her take the order of people who were sat 5-10 mins after us. We were completely ignored for another few minutes while our waitress assisted other tables around us. We decided to leave to go somewhere that appreciates our business.

We are travelling across the country and stopped here for breakfast. Great food! Our server Preet was very friendly and sweet and the owner was helping out because it was busy. She also came and talk to us and gave us some information on the area. Great experience!!

Perfect family restaurant, it's not a Michelin five star restaurant and it's not trying to be. Good food at a good price, great service, and a place you'll feel comfortable whether alone or in a group. And the baked goods are outstanding

Wow this place was GREAT! Had bacon cheeseburger platter. Food was great, portions were well above average, staff was super friendly, and very fast. It was busy and we had our food within 10 minutes of walking through the door. Highly recommend!

The only real diner left in Charlottetown, as far as I know. It is what you would expect from a diner, good classic food and good prices. Fairly large serving sizes. It is very popular, especially for breakfast, and especially on holidays and weekends. The lineup is usually out the door, but it moves pretty fast.

  • 5/5 Steve B. 1 year ago on Google
Good menu with all the old favorites - burgers, fish and chips, hot sandwiches. Food was cooked just right and portions are large. I really enjoyed the hearty helping of carrots and turnips that came as a side with my lunch. We were there at lunch and there was a wait to get seated but the food came extremely quickly. If you want a good old fashioned feed in Charlottetown this is the right place.

We stopped in here for breakfast prior to our flight back to Ontario. The meal was fantastic! Huge portion size, price was reasonable and the food was delicious! To top it all off the waitress was amazing, so friendly and we enjoyed our chats with her. I believe her name was Fiona originally from Britain such a sweet lady.

While the Diner was extremely busy, we had only a brief wait while a table was cleared and cleaned by efficient staff. Our server Angel was helpful, friendly and prompt in taking our order and bringing our breakfasts to our table 23. Food items were delicious (highly recommend the sausages, the omelettes and their bottomless cups of coffee). Safety and cleanliness were obviously key priorities. Thank you for an excellent meal, with commendations to the staff!

Went 2 days in a row, had the same thing both days. Large portions for dinner type plates. I ordered 2 eggs, 1 blueberry pancake and a side of bacon. I did not want a lot of carbs so my order was a la carte for each. Otherwise I can say you would not walk out feeling hungry after eating here. I was comfortably full. Pancake was full plate size. ( about9 ") so did not order a full order. It is a local favorite, always busy, always full. (I have been in previous visits/ previous yrs). Food is always good, big 'down home east coast' style menu and portions. Burgers, sandwiches, poutine style dinner plates with optional turkey or beef toppings. A local favorite of the canadian maritimes, called ' a hot mess' , consists of French fries, gravy, beef or turkey and peas all piled on a plate smothered in gravy. The turkey version is also served with a side of cranberries. I sat up at the diner bar with all the other single/ solo diners and there was about 6 others all having the ' hot mess'. It is popular and if you are a French fry lover, and can eat a lot of food, this might be a dish for you to try. There are ample other selections from all day breakfast dishes, to dinner plates and sandwiches. A great place but patience is required both to actually get a seat, and then to get waited on. Once ordered, the food comes quick. The longest and most frustrating part of the experience is the waiting for a seat and then to get waited on. Therefore the 4 stars. having said that, once you try it, you might find the wait is worth it! (the ' hot mess' turkey version is the photo)
