A really cool museum. They gave us a tour which is what made it worth it. To learn about the different parts of the house and the history of Charolettown. The best part is they let us go all the way up to the Widoes Watch where we could look out over the bay. The view was great and they had a map up there so we could tell what was what. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. The gardens were a beautiful spot to sit as well. Nice boardwalk walk next to it. All in all Great!!

A wonderful character-filled home. Even though they were under renovation, it was still very interesting to see the interior of this beautiful home. Our guide, Hannah, was very knowledgeable and gave an enjoyable tour. And there was a tea happening as well with amazing treats! A great piece of Island history - highly recommended!

Visited in Aug this year. Some renovations going on in house. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about history of house which made the tour worthwhile. There was not a fee to enter because of Reno’s going on donation only

This house has been amazingly reproduced to look like it would have when first built. Tour guide was very knowledgeable. Would have been good to have been able to see more of the house (maids quarters and certain rooms were closed off) Well worth a visit if in Charlottetown.

An exceptional slice of PEI history. The tours are informative, colourful and add a layer of historical perspective nuanced with conjecture of the time period. Nick and the employees of the museum do a wonderful job at making everyone feel welcome.

A historic house full of information on different families, different events, tragic events, beautiful architecture, maintained well by the museum staff, visited on a Friday, tours go on every 30 minutes, there no set fee it was discretionary donation, after the tour lovely tea and treats were being sold, it was a lovely treat to enjoy in the garden

We didn't know what to expect from the tour, but we really loved the look of the building and thought it was worth checking out. We got a tour from Hannah and she was such a great guide -- she had so much interesting info about the history and architecture of the house, as well as being super enthusiastic and engaging (we particularly liked the guessing games for all of the old gadgets in the house). If you have 30-40 minutes to spare, I highly recommend checking it out.

A beautiful and quite authentically preserved home worth exploring, however the staff was a little lacking in professionalism. Also, I was shocked at the times. It closes at around 4 pm. Yes, even during tourist season. I must as well admit that I have never been in such a haunted house before. You may not believe in ghosts, but I could tell something was up, and it wasn't friendly. Either way, I'd say it's nice to check it out!

Loved the visit! The house is very well kept with most furniture, decorations, floors, other household items from the time it was built. It is truly a voyage to the past. It will impress you even if you are not one to like history. However, this is mostly a visit for adults, younger kids may get bored.

The house is only open for tourist certain days of the week. There were closed the day we were there. However we walked the grounds and by the water which was charming!!

Certainly worth the entrance fee, some very nice architectural features and good collection and arrangement of period pieces. Demonstrates how the wealthy displayed their wealth and tried to impress with all the latest technology and fashion. Located in upscale neighborhood along the waterfront. Guided tour on the hour, can be congested if larger group is present.

If you love old historic homes, that's the place to go to! Very beautifully crafted and designed wood inside and intruiging story on it's history.

Beautiful place to visit and learn about the history of this house. Entrance by donation and you get a tour of the house.

We just visited from the outside as we reached near closing time. But it was still a nice place to visit as the house is very photogenic and the property is surrounded by a beautiful park & garden.

I love historical sites and this house did not deceive. It's amazing how people lived a hundred, two hundred years ago. This place was used for several reasons, but they also kept the charm of the house.

Went in February, the door was locked but someone came and opened it to let me see the place. No tour at the time so I wandered on my own for about 30 min. Parking is limited, there is a lot across the street but I believe it said it was for private use

Beautiful old house... adventure day was not open as of yet.

Good to hear and see they try to preserve some historical houes in PEI, and this particular one is well maintained, and the outside lawn has some a giant tree and beautiful as well. But not much historical significance or story are attached to it.

👍 Not really sure why this is labeled a farmers market as there are only about two booths with fruits or vegetables. As an artisan market though this is splendid. Lots of space, great atmosphere, vendors are all super friendly. Lots of crafts and food to enjoy.
