I think this place deserves a mandatory visit when you visit York. From the moment I stepped in the aroma was redolent of some kind of fantasy land. Didn’t expect much initially, but the more you explore the products more lovelier it is. My partner and I were pleasantly surprised seeing the plethora of dessert shaped soaps, felt too bad to buy them as it’s too lovely and delicate to see. If you feel the same, then go for the whipped soaps, bathing salts or the amazing collection of shower gels they have. The combo of flavours they have chosen is simply amazing and no amount of fancy adjectives can enunciate the magic. The visual merchandising is equally noteworthy as shopping from the physical store makes it even more exciting.

This shop is a dream! The inside is absolutely beautiful and magical. They have so many cute products for a very reasonable price. Also they are cruelty free which is amazing! I bought few soap and bath products but I would have love to buy everything. I will definitely come back the next time I visit the area. So sad that they have no shop in the South.

My absolute favourite shop in York! Saw lots of people carrying their shopping bags and wondered what the deal was… Then I went in and instantly understood! The decor of the shop is so cute and inviting. There are lots of products on offer; soaps, bath bombs, candles, body lotions, toothpaste, to name a few. I ended up buying a candle and soap and the prices are very fair and reasonable. Staff were very friendly and welcoming too. I was asked if I needed help a couple of times. If you ever visit York, be sure to stop by here!

This shop definitely has wow effect! The price was reasonable and everything smells good! Got some soaps (cherry one £4, coconut one £6) and a lip balm (rose one £4.5).

Beautiful shop, totally blown away by it all. Soaps looked real enough to eat! The smells were so elegant. So much choice, I left with a soap, bath bomb and candle. Staff were very welcoming, friendly and allowed you to browse in peace but were there if you needed them. They appeared to be very knowledgeable on their products and in particular I was shown around by Lillybeth who was spot on! Will definitely visit again.

If you like soap and all things nice, you love this super refined emporium. Staff are knowledgeable and super friendly. Dog friendly, too. I dare you to walk in and not come out with something you were tempted to buy.

Really loved this shop!! I walked past in the evening when it was closed and thought I've got to go back there tomorrow and I'm so happy I did. Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and gives great advice. The shop just looks amazing and smells amazing too. I got all my souvenirs from York from here. They've got such a wise variety you can find something for everyone. From unicorn cupcakes, to fish in a bag soap, to bars of soap and hand sanitiser and everything in between and it's just beautifully and so nicely packaged too. Very well priced as well. Really enjoyed my visit here and they mentioned they have a webshop too!

They also provide gift options if you want to buy gifts for your family. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Price wise, I think that price tags are well priced.

What an amazing shop..I lived in York for 3.5 years and it was my first time here last night. Absolutely gorgeous soaps..got some duck soaps for kids which they loved. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I would definitely be back here again to buy more gifts.

Great independent soap store with a lot of variety. Picked up three amazing looking bath bombs and a gift set which came to the total of about £25 which was cheaper than I thought it would be. I would definitely recommend visiting the store if you’re coming to York and if you need some Christmas gifts! (Or for any other celebration). The staff were lovely too!

real person, real review. one of my favourite spots! the soap lasts FOREVER and smells incredible, with so many options. i love the Ol' Stinker triple-milled, and currently use the Sandalwood of the same variety. worth a stop by.

Came in here as we saw loads of people with the gift bags. Just came to have a look and ended up walking out with 3 soaps! They have so many lovely scents as well as funky shapes and good gifts. The staff were very attentive and super friendly in this store.

Friendly, helpful staff, nice music playing and laid out beautifully. And of course smells lovely. The products are all clearly labelled, and lots of sample smells to help you tell what you like. Plus spoilt for choice with soap and bath salts and all sorts of similar scented products.

I first discovered The Yorkshire Soap Company after smelling “Night night seeetheart” on a friend. I purchased a bottle online for myself immediately. During a visit to York I made a beeline for the store and was not disappointed. The aesthetic of the shop is beautiful. The staff are so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Absolutely fantastic company. The staff are all very pleasant and the products are amazing! Our daughter has very sensitive skin but she has no issues after using these bath bombs. Would definitely recommend.

It's a pretty looking store that was still nicely decorated for Christmas. Great choice of various bath bombs, etc. All reasonably priced perfect for treats for yourself or gifts. My little girl wanted everything! We bought a range of soaps and bath bombs. We haven't used them all yet, but those we have used were very nice.

What an amazing place! The staff here are super friendly and helpful without being over the top. The products are amazing but the staff make this place. What an absolute pleasure to visit somewhere where the staff seem to genuinely be interested and care about how they can help! Their products are also out of this world amazing! I bought a scented diffuser (Whitby Bay) and soap bar soap (Yorkshire Scrubber) and they both smell beautiful!!! Thank you. I will be back!!
