Came here because I've read the detective novel from Higashino Keigo, it's such an historical statue/place. The very first kilometre of Japan 🇯🇵

Cool statues of the legendary beast, Kirin. Apparently, they're supposed to symbolize the start of all roads, flying out to the ends of the Earth. They were made famous by being a key location in a popular detective movie.

(Translated by Google) According to the description of the Tokyo Metropolitan Archives, Kirin's wings express a "dorsal fin" as if the wings had grown as a result of examining the wings and dorsal fin. Nihonbashi is also the starting point of the road, which means that it will take off from here. This is the place where Keigo Higashino set the stage for "Kirin no Tsubasa". When I visited for the first time, there was a person who was looking at it with the same feeling as I was.

(Translated by Google) It is a symbol of Nihonbashi, Kirin statue. Suitable for Nihonbashi, the starting point of the Five Routes. The prototype of the lion and kirin was made by a sculptor. Osao Watanabe. Casting is by my father-in-law, Okazaki Sessei. Imaginary creature. The lion is a guardian dog at Tamukeyama Hachimangu Shrine in Nara Prefecture. Produced for reference. It has the coat of arms of Tokyo City instead of a shield, and the coat of arms is still used today. In 2011, Keigo Higashino's detective story, The wings of Kirin are right here. The movie is starring Hiroshi Abe. Since it is set in the Nihonbashi area, touch the movie It may be one of the pleasures to take a walk in the neighborhood It may be.

(Translated by Google) Nihonbashi There is a Japanese road original mark, and it is the starting point of Japanese roads such as the Five Routes. The place where there was a fish bank in the Edo period. The Kirin statue in Nihonbashi was bigger than I expected. It is worth seeing if you look at it nearby. "Kirin with wings" is cool. The construction of the bridge is simple but splendid. I think it's a good idea to take a look when you come nearby.

(Translated by Google) Is this the Kirin of Nihonbashi? Kirin was originally a Chinese legendary creature. It became famous for Keigo Higashino's novel "Kirin no Tsubasa". It looks like a winged dragon to me. The Kirin statue seen live is full of power. Other statues also look great. Many people bother to visit this bridge.

(Translated by Google) Nihonbashi, the starting point of Gokaido Artistic architecture with statues of lions and giraffes. It can be seen as a historical building. There are various discoveries whether you go after researching or research later. Mitsukoshi-mae Station, right outside the B6 exit. The Ginza Line is far from the ticket gates, but it's interesting to see picture scrolls on display even in the underpass. You can also go to Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store. About 200m from Nihonbashi station exit B12. If you take the wrong exit, you might end up going to Tokyo Station. This is Nihonbashi Takashimaya (Original)

(Translated by Google) April when the cherry blossoms and Kirin are the most beautiful. Isn't it time to see the flower rafts? The Kirin statue of Nihonbashi that I definitely don't want to disappear. Watching the history of Tokyo, enduring construction work, and in full bloom of the cherry blossoms 🌸, I am still looking dignifiedly at the heavens today. During the Edo period the Nihombashi bridge was the starting point for the major highways connecting Edo (now Tokyo) with the rest of the country, and was the point from which all distances from the capital were measured. The current bridge was built in 1911. It would be rated higher except that government planners in their infinite wisdom decided to erect a massive expressway overheard, leaving the bridge to stand in shadows.

(Translated by Google) The statue of Kirin in Nihonbashi is designed with wings on its back, and it seems that it was made with the image of flying all over Japan from this starting point "Nihonbashi". It became a famous statue because of the influence of the movie "The Wings of the Kirin (2012)".

My favorite is the amazing dragon and lion figurines that have been here for years. The structural design of Nihonbashi is also wonderful no matter how many times I look at it. This giraffe statue is famous for Keigo Higashino's novel "Kirin no Tsubasa" set in Nihonbashi. However, I would also like to recommend Hiroshi Aramata's novel "Teito Monogatari", in which this Kirin statue appears. This is because it is an interesting sci-fi work that has also been made into an animated film.😘

Important historic symbol. Where it all begins for Tokyo metropolitan. Great neighborhood for shopping and eating. many fancy malls and eateries around. If Ginza not your cup of tea, come here instead.

This is the old center of #tokyo , starting in Japan’s #edo period (1603-1867) only a short walk from the Imperial Palace. #nihonbashibridge is a national symbol as the starting point of five major roads that lead into and out of Tokyo. The district had prospered with the opening of this bridge in the early 17th century. Today, the bridge carries a bronze signpost with the words „Origin of Roads in Japan,“ and the location is used as a base point to measure distances from Tokyo. Ahhh 😜 I forget to mention that they‘ve build a motorway 🛣️ right on top of the river and over the first bridge. Japan loves to go for progress 🇯🇵

(Translated by Google) It is a famous tourist attraction bridge that represents Tokyo. Tourists are having a photo session as a photo spot. It is the starting point of the Japanese road. In the future, the Metropolitan Expressway will become an underground tunnel, so it is only now that we can take a picture of the set with the Metropolitan Expressway. (Translated by Google) An Olympic monument is set up on the Mitsukoshi side of Nihonbashi. It was also published in the morning edition of the Yomiuri Shimbun on 2021.8.8. If you know earlier ... It seems that there are 12 locations nationwide. It is also located at Nihonbashi and the National Stadium. It's also in the national stadium, but I couldn't get close to it during the Tokyo Olympics 2020. (Translated by Google) By all means, the beauty of the stone arch bridge that is integrated with the river surface, not from the top of the bridge. It seems that there are many stone arch bridges in Japan, but it seems that Nihonbashi is the only one that is still in service as a road bridge on general national highways as it was at the time of construction.

👍 Surprising place just a few steps from Ginza Main Street: every apartment is now a gallery, managed independently, so whenever you come, some are open some are closed, only very few seem to be shops. The staircases and corridors look original without any changes since they have been built.
