We had the dinner course here. Every single dish was amazingly tasty. Definitely top quality even compared with those fancy French restaurants in Tokyo. The price is reasonable compared to what was served. Beware that the volume was pretty big. If you are not hungry, ordering separately may be a better choice.

Chanced upon this place which was near our hotel on a weekday and it was empty when we reached at 630pm. Thankfully they had an English menu as I was reading the カタカナ really slowly with my rusty Japanese. We had mushroom soup and chicken liver pate with bread rolls for starters and both were excellent - the soup was smooth and tasty while we spread the creamy paté generously on the bread rolls and gobbled them down. The mains did not disappoint as well - the perfectly done Rump steak was tender and flavorful but Adult Hamburg stuffed with foie gras and served with cheesy gratin was the highlight! The chef recommended chestnut pie for desserts and it was amazing - Flaky pastry with chestnut filling, vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. We enjoyed the dinner immensely even though there was some waiting time as clearly the food were made with care. The ambience was cosy with great music too!

Honestly so welcoming. They have great wines by the glass, the burger came stuffed with foie gras over cheesy potatoes. My children swear their for a potatoes were their best of their lives and they have a variant of this several times a week!

Hate to post a 1 star. Showed up on a Saturday evening. Not a full restaurant, nobody waiting, open seats at the bar area and at tables. Not a set menu restaurant. Despite our polite request for 2 for dinner, we were told “reservation so cannot dine.” Hard to get a reservation if you don’t speak much Japanese or just spot a restaurant last minute. Don’t waste your time trying to walk in, maybe you can get a reservation through a concierge. But generally not friendly to foreigners.

All I can say is thank you! That's not true, I can say much more! Unfortunately, my wife and I had already eaten when we found this amazing restaurant looking for after dinner drinks! We came in on our vacation (English speaking, a little basic Japanese) and just wanted to have some wine. He accommodated our non-standard request so graciously. The service was exceptional and thoughtful. We had some delicious Japanese sparkling wine, at his recommendation. We were so disappointed that we had already eaten though, as everything that came out to other tables looked and smelled AMAZING! The bar seats also look right over them cooking, which would have been great! If we were here for more than one night, we would definitely come back. Don't miss out!!

Incredible dining experience with top quality food, service and ambience. Fell in love with the little gem in this hood. Chef and sous chef were a joy to watch work the kitchen and very professional! Front bar seats are the best. Made this trip very memorable for me and my family! Will definitely return. Prices are very reasonable!

I can’t believe there’s a Michelin 2star level restaurant in such a place. This place is truly amazing and judging from the size of the restaurant, I can’t imagine the food is so good!

I'm firmly convinced the only reason this place doesn't have a Michelin star is that the reviewers are too lazy to make the train trip from Tokyo. The food here is sublime; it's an amazing take on French cuisine, using Japanese ingredients, that lands perfectly. It's been awhile since I felt emotional eating dinner and yet that's what I felt in this cute little restaurant in Kawaguchiko. Be aware this is a small venue that probably seats 16 people max; reservations are a must! If you find yourself in this picturesque mountain town: while calling to make reservations also ask for the "course menu". You won't regret it.

A reservation is good idea, but not diffucult to get. We had a really good meal at a very reasonable price with good service. I highly recommend the terrine , wagyu beef and the apple pie. A memorable meal.

Unbelievable hidden gem with a genius chef!!!!!! It’s a simple casual restaurant that gave me a journey of taste experience. Love the way how the chef combine local ingredients with interesting way of cooking to give a whole new experience of common known dishes. Chef was cool guy but I hv to go tell him how tasty it was. lucky to find this resto . Highly recommend: salad mix , fish of the day

This restaurant is small and cosy, the food and wine were very good - and prices are alright! I would advice the hamburger - it’s very Japanese / French style. The staff was also very polite.
