Room is spacious for Tokyo standards. Has shuttle bus free from and to Shinagawa station, which is less than 5 minutes away by car. Executive lounge had decent and delicious food while breakfast had a great spread and fresh foods. This beats several other similar Marriott properties in Japan which charge in the similar range. The property is adjacent to a small park called the forest which has nice Sakura trees in the early spring along with man made waterfall features. Staff members are attentive and helpful. I do recommend this property!

This is a very nice hotel and the staff has been incredible. However, unless your using points or have a lot of money to burn, I would recommend finding a different hotel for a better quality/value. We stayed twice on our trip, at the beginning and the end. For the first part of our trip, we redeemed points. They put us on the 23rd floor, which is an upgrade due to titanium status. This was an awesome way to start the trip. The room was slightly roomier than some of the other hotels we have stayed at in Japan, the beds were nice, it was clean, and the bathroom was spacious. Redeeming points, I was extremely happy to book this room. At the end of our trip, I had exhausted all of our points and decided to splurge beings I was bringing my Daughter to celebrate her graduation. It cost $600 a night roughly. I was thinking at that price, they would be putting us in a suite or something. We stayed in the same room that we got for free redeeming points except on the 21st floor. This was a huge disappointment as I had hyped it up to my daughter. I'm sure the fault is mine for not investigating the rooms further but, free vs. $600 a night? To me it absolutely was not worth $600 but, for some it may be. Lesson learned for me. (I also noticed a much nicer room that was vacant on the same floor). I am impressed they gave us the room that they did and upgraded us when staying with points. I also can not say enough great things about the staff. One other note, if you plan on eating at the restaurant, the cheapest burger on the menu was 3,200 yen. If you are thrifty, this is not the place for you. If you don't mind spending a bit to a lot more for great service, this could be right up your alley. The wooded park next to the hotel is a nice relaxing stroll. Also, I went walking around for about 2 hours to explore and found 4 temples. It was awesome. The room was clean and nice, but, the second room has wallpaper peeling off of the wall. For the rate paid, you would not expect peeling wallpaper, IMO.

Solid hotel for business travelers. 10 minute walk from Shinagawa train station, and they also have a free shuttle every 20 minutes. The free breakfast buffet was good, with a wide selection of Asian and Western foods. Gym has the basic workout equipment. There’s also a convenient store just downstairs from the lobby escalator. Lounge has a nice view and free beers/food

Good hotel for business travelers. Around 10mins walk to next Subway/Shinkansen station. Rooms are spacey, staff is friendly and there's a convenience store at the basement open until 23:00. No swimming pool though.

One of the major issues with this Marriott is the Indian staff at the front desk. He straight up lied in front of me without even blinking his eyes. Disgusting. Another Indian waiter at the breakfast restaurant also had some major attitude which was quite repulsive. However, the lady at the executive lounge was super attentive and gracious. I would hire her as my GM if I decided to run any hospitality business.

The hotel is very old. Rooms are dated and bathrooms are filled with mildew and mold. The location is terrible. The train station is close but everything is 40-55 minutes away. Tokyo transit is awesome but this place was terrible. Would not recommend. Further they did not upgrade our rooms. The end result was old tired hotel in the middle of nowhere. Choose a hotel in Tokyo Ginza.

Nice hotel. Nicely sized rooms for Tokyo. The included breakfast looks great. They have a shuttle to the station which helps with getting around and about. There is a gym - relatively small hotel gym. Staff were friendly and helpful. Recommend if staying in Tokyo.

Hotel very modern. Had the two twins room and the beds feel more like a double. Stayed on the 18th floor. Nice view of the city. Plenty of toiletries. Whatever is missing just call down. Including our haul from Family Mart conveniently located down the escalators at the hotel entrance. Hotel shuttle takes you to the Shinagawa station which saves you the walk. We were able to hear the trains from our room but it wasn't terrible. Ear plugs were available in the lobby downstairs. The complimentary breakfast for higher elite members was better downstairs.

I’ve been coming to this hotel off and on for the past 5 years or so. It’s far away from the bustle of Shinagawa station, but there’s a regular shuttle bus, and the walk isn’t too bad if you’re not in a hurry. If you’re driving, you have to enter from a left-turn only (a right turn is illegal, and there’s often someone waiting for that mistake to happen.) ¥2,000 a night for parking. Check in can be hit or miss—sometimes it’s quick, others take forever. Rooms are nice; chairs can be uncomfortable sometimes; bathroom amenities use lots of disposable plastic; the beds are comfortable. If you have lounge privileges, there’s hot food at 5:30, and alcohol before that. Breakfast buffet is usually included, and it has a decent variety of food. The hotel restaurant is pricey, but the food is good. Since the building also has business offices, there are food carts serving lunch; these rotate, depending on the day. All in all, this hotel is good and can be recommended.

The reason people stay at Marriott (including me) is for points. Not because they actually like Marriott. This particular Marriott is a perfect example. Service was excellent. All the right amenities. Very comfortable bed. Even a walkable garden-scape. But, a boring business neighborhood a km from train station or fun urban energy.

Room is clean and decently sized. Bathroom is quite old and not too clean - the bathtub glass divider is full of old soap stains, which is surprising considering it is the Marriott. It is a few minutes away by bus from the Shinagawa train station, and depending on bus schedule it comes around 3 times an hour (varies on weekdays/weekends) so it is pretty inconvenient if you miss the bus. The walking route is not covered once you alight (from hotel to train station) so if it rains you will need to take an umbrella. The bus stop at Shinagawa (to hotel) is only sheltered for the first 2 passengers - if it rains it is a cold and wet wait for the bus. First visit to the lounge - never again. Food was decent, but the crowd was overwhelming. Long queues at the buffet line, and tables were packed close to each other and absolutely full. (this was a weekend). It is incredibly popular with small families because of the cold weather and there isn't any restaurants within comfortable walking vicinity. Breakfast buffet was very good. Food was very fresh and delicious - especially the salad buffet section. Love the creative egg dishes from the egg station. Appreciate the Gotenyama Park next to the hotel. Very nice to walk around among the maple trees.

My recent stay at the Tokyo Marriott Hotel was a study in contrasts. While the hotel offered comfortable lodgings, it fell short in several areas, making for a less-than-ideal experience. The most glaring issue was its location, which was not the most convenient. A 15-minute walk to the nearest station can prove quite cumbersome, particularly if one is carrying a significant amount of luggage. However, the hotel does offer shuttle rides, a gesture that partially compensates for the distance. While the hotel's design is sleek and modern, it lacked the vibrancy and excitement of the more energetic neighborhoods such as Shinjuku or Shibuya. Although the ambiance was pleasant enough, it did not provide the entertainment or nightlife one might expect in Tokyo. I found the bathroom amenities to be a source of disappointment. The lack of razors, toothbrushes, or combs, while a minor inconvenience, is surprising for a hotel of this stature. Yet, the hotel did have its moments of charm. One pleasant surprise was the complimentary Nespresso in the rooms, a welcome treat that added a touch of indulgence to my mornings. In conclusion, I would rate the Tokyo Marriott Hotel a 3 out of 5. While it offered comfort and convenience in certain respects, the inconvenience of its location and the absence of some expected amenities detracted from the experience.

When entering the hotel, an experienced concierge welcomes guests with a remarkable kindness. All operations are run smoothly and gently by well trained staffs. The rooms are extremely comfortable and the breakfast is fantastic.

Unfortunately a very bad experience. The room is unmaintained and dirty. The shower look and smells like from the 80th. I really would like to understand why Marriott and he whole Marriott chain got so bad. The hotels are getting s o bad that I assume they going bankrupt and out of business anytime soon… I

My partner and I stayed here during his business trips many times throughout 2018-2019 and always had a positive experience! He is part of the Bonvoy program and we always enjoyed going to the executive lounge for a small bite to eat and enjoying the fantastic view of the city! But I must say the highlight is their breakfast! The staff is very kind and prompt. There are endless options to choose from (egg station, smoothies, fresh croissants, meat and cheeses, smoked salmon etc.). We loved sitting in the big comfortable chairs away from the kitchen because it was a little more private and enjoyable. Due to our status they always tried to get us the best room during our stay (we normally stayed 6 nights per visit). That was very much appreciated! Will definitely be returning when we can visit Tokyo again!

Fabulous breakfast spread made with quality ingredients. Try their french brulee made to order if you like sweets. The amazing Breakfast makes up for all other shortcomings (noise, rooms in need of renovation). Reminder notes: need floor 18 and above. Rooms 1807 and 1808 are quieter but I keep rustling around 6:30 am to train noise even with ear plugs. Room 2209 was too loud. Wish we could have opened windows for fresh air, even a crack as the rooms get stuffy and felt humid. Pillows made for King Kong and stuffed so neck sits high. Bringing own pillow solves that. AC worked well, and lounge is lovely in the evening. Free shuttle to and from Shinagawa station coming often during peak hours (bus will only show Gotenyama Trust City on front and always leaves promptly. Also the stand is right outside the station and across from the bright Hollywood building) or can take a taxi for around 700 yen. Walking takes about 12 minutes and is very safe. Foreign staff very kind and pleasant.

Nice and upscale hotel. Friendly staff and very nice breakfast. Good food and drinks at the lounge. Location is a bit away from Shinagawa station although there’s a free shuttle bus.

The end to end service from concierge, bell boy, reception was amazing. From helping me call and translate my conversations with a few vendors to the best and most courteous service from the bell boy. The highlight for me was how the whole team bend over backwards to ensure my belongings left in the room was sent to me in one day while I was still in Tokyo. I have stayed in many Bonvoy hotels and the team in Tokyo Marriott certainly left an amazing impression. Thank you Tokyo Marriott team! Location - close to the Shinagawa train station and there’s a free shuttle that runs on a schedule to the nearest station. Food and service in the executive lounge are amazing! Quality breakfast spread Rooms are slightly dated but spacious and clean. Service top notch

Great hotel for business/leisure. Walking to Shinagawa Station takes about 10-15 minutes depends on pace; alternatively cab ride is 5 minutes or so if you travelling in a group.

great location! there is a shuttle to shinagawa station (access to subway and shinkansen) so you can go basically anywhere with minimal walking. the rooms were pretty good and the air-conditioning works perfectly. however, the lower floors can sometimes get pretty loud with the trains. if you get access, the executive lounge is also pretty great (& nice view).

This is a Marriott? It was a relatively nice stay; the lounge was nice to enjoy watching planes from Haneda pass in and out, the room was big and the breakfast buffet was fairly decent. But as other reviews have indicated, bathrooms were dirty and the room seemed like it could use renovation despite the spaciousness. There was a faint lingering musty smell that told me the carpet or something in the room required a deep clean. Possibly also some of the clumsiest customer service I received as well — a lot of the folks working there acted unprofessional or lost on the job as if it was their first day whether it was in the lobby, the room or the restaurant. Location wise was also a bit awkward — around a 15 minute walk from shinagawa station and mostly surrounded by industrial car shops, a highway & a lot of train tracks (which you can also hear from the 18th floor). Although most of the food I ate was good, a few things, like the popcorn in the lounge or a couple options of the bread from the breakfast buffet, were completely stale and not edible. Not to mention although COVID standards have relaxed, it concerned me a bit to see that some options, particularly in the help-yourself baguette area of the breakfast buffet, allowed people to grab food with their bare hands. I noticed some folks in particular sliced the baguettes without a paper sleeve or gloves using their bare hands and then putting the touched bread back in the community basket. Overall the stay was decent but for the price in comparison to other hotels in the area for much cheaper with cleaner amenities, brighter hospitality and significantly more centrally located, it’s a wonder how this Marriott is still holding up so well.

Couldn’t recommend this hotel enough. Service is the best I’ve ever received at any Marriott around the world. The breakfast buffet downstairs is one of the biggest spreads with all types of selections that would satisfy anyone and everyone. The rooms are very clean, comfortable beds, great housekeeping services. Location is a very nice area that allows you to be close to metro while at the same time, quiet and relaxing so you can feel peace when returning back after a busy day in the city. Again, can’t emphasize enough how incredible this staff is. Extremely accommodating and welcoming, from the men and women who greet you at the front to the management level. Inside and out superb place! Wouldn’t stay anywhere else when I return to Tokyo.

Nice hotel. Staff is courteous. There are good vegetarian food options in buffet breakfast. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. There is a free shuttle service for Shinagawa Station. Gotenyama Garden is situated in close vicinity. One can go for a leisurely stroll to the garden. Money exchange machine is available. Exchange rates are slightly lower than the city.

10 min walk from Shinagawa station or take shuttlebus. Facility is aged and lounge for premium floor guests is way overcrowded with Marriott elite members. Small gym no pool. Check in highly inefficient. Breakfast buffet was very good.

Great Hotel with a good connection to a large train station. I had a very pleasant stay here, also got good treatment and upgrades due to my status with the bonus program.

Staff service level is very good. Location is very good, nice to walk around, and free shuttle bus provided at frequent timing to go to a nearby major train station. Room is well maintained, but some rooms are facing railway tracks so some noise can be heard when trains are passing by. Executive lounge is satisfactory, no great view but it's comfortable. Didn't have a chance to try their evening cocktail though.

Always love coming back to this hotel. Very clean, comfortable and beautiful rooms. The service from all the staff are exceptionally polite. Very friendly team. The buffet breakfast is amazing as always. Plenty of food from both Western and Japanese cuisine.

Amazing hotel, superb food options on site, nice park next door for a stroll and the best staff - especially the breakfast team! Did I mention the food? Breakfast has something for everyone and a lot of choice for those of us that like options, afternoon tea was a delight, the executive lounge team friendly with great evening snacks and drinks and the evening options… Western food was some of the best I’ve had and the Japanese tasting menu at their restaurant was exceptional. Room size was huge for Tokyo and I really enjoyed my stay.

Beautiful property in a very good location, just half a mile or so from Shinagawa Station. We encountered both a typhoon and an earthquake while we were in Tokyo at the Marriott, and the staff could not have been more wonderful, both during these events and otherwise. Amazing breakfast buffet (if you can get it with your room, do that, as I think it's about $34 per person if purchased separately), helpful staff all around, and elegant facilities.

Top notch as a J-Dub should be! I cannot say enough good things about the staff, and the breakfast is worth the 3600 Yen. Quiet and spacious rooms with heated toilet seats and other modern amenities. Surrounded by beautiful grounds impeccably cared for.

Shuttle bus is provided to Shinagawa train station. Family mart is just below. Breakfast is a good spread and I live the freshness of its food. I was lucky to be given a very big room. Service wise is good. The front desk tried its very best to get me king room to no avail, then he got the housekeeping to combined 2 double bed into 1 big bed.

A very disappointing experience after staying in so many Marriott hotels. The front desk staff made lots mistakes from the beginning of check in, lower floor after upgraded, forgot to deliver the lunch box which we ordered already, no electricity at all after entered into the room. We just had to call them again and again to figure out what we have to get which we should’ve had! No even mention abt we still didn’t get the points and stays record in Marriott app, it’s been over a week and no matter how many times we asked them to recheck. We assume the front desk staff are being very busy every day, however, it’s not ok if you can’t satisfy the very basic request from your customers. Try to avoid this hotel only if you are sure you won’t need any help and no contact with front desk people.

The worst hotel in Tokyo! They Do Not have swimming pool! The worst service from the manager until the stuff. Very very noisy room. You can here the train passing through for the whole night! Expensive price

  • 5/5 Allison B. 1 year ago on Google
Nice business hotel. Amenities are good and beds are comfortable. It is near the train, so if you are not okay with waking up early, ask to be on opposite side of train tracks.

Fantastic staff! It makes all the difference. Yoshiko, customer relationship manager and the General manager of the front desk all very helpful. At the lounge, Sobian and Chetri are always attentive and smiley. Great service! I had some best Japanese food which was prepared by the friendly Nakagawa chef and his team. The mushroom soup and sashimi are excellent. I cannot wait to go back soon.

Good service and cleanliness. Cocktail time in club lounge is excellent. Also, the breakfast is great. Variety of foods and fruits. They have free shuttle service from Shinagawa station.

Good sized rooms for Tokyo. Easy walk to the station. Found the staff in the executive lounge a bit pushy though. Very insistent that we didn't outstay out maximum time when the lounge wasn't even busy. Rooms a bit noisy. You can hear the trains throughout the day.

Rooms are old and definitely need an update... Executive lounge have amazing views but as well really old looking.. Food in lounge and breakfast amazing. Staff friendly and nice. Location quiet but you need to walk for about 15 min from Shinagawa station (They have a shuttle bus that we used but the last bus from the station goes at 21:55 and the first bus goes at 7:30)
