If you are an automobile buff, this is a pilgrimage you must visit in your lifetime! It is almost entire history of automobile (And full history of Honda) starting from motored bicycle to evolution of cars, F1, some other motors like lawn mowers, boat motors, they even have small plane; apparently Honda makes engines of planes. (I am sure soon they will put that Honda generator which Tesla users use to charge their cars in emergency) They have a bike which has sofa like seats, ground world record speed holder machine, small planes, motor boats, all types of two wheelers and four wheelers produced in all parts of the world, F1 cars used by Honda. Small display of how F1 tyres looked in each decade from 1920 races and you will be amazed for the transformation they have been to. It is so huge that if you are a real buff, you might spend around half day there admiring the exhibits and the way they are maintained and displayed. The curator told that they all are in working condition and are switched on at least once a year. If you have a pestering spouse, not interested in automobiles, you may still spend around 2 hours there! Nearby there is Asimo museum as well. Public transport available.

A worthwhile experience for any racing enthusiast, even if it is difficult to get to by public transport from Tokyo. If you plan to visit Honda, Yamaha, Nissan etc. from Tokyo it is worth renting a car for a few days - otherwise expect to spend a few hours each way to get to the collection hall. The museum itself is outstanding and packed full of racing and commercial Honda history

So many to see from cars to bikes They didn't have a Deauville which we were hoping to see, as we have one in Bulgaria.

Been there finally last year. Such a amazing and unbelievable museum, on so many Honda bike from first generation to the latest. Always been a Honda fans since young boy. Finally my dream came true. Spend a whole morning going through level by level four by floor room by room to see all kind of bikes. Especially the history of Honda. The location is quite far from town. We have to take few trains and taxi to get there from Tokyo. Not easy trips but exciting. It is very very very quiet not much visitor. Suitable for families and especially students. The little town was very quiet and less occupancy. Good for all

A must visit for any Japanese car (and motorbike) enthusiast, the Honda Collection Hall is as impressive as you would expect. Numerous levels featuring a vast selection of Honda models from over the years. What amazed me the most was seeing a pristine 3rd Gen Civic on display which was very nostalgic. The Type R’s of the 90’s were also worth admiring, along with the very cars I used to race in the old Gran Turismo days. A small gift shop has a selection of memorabilia to buy if desired. Note that whilst the hall is free, you do have to pay a person/vehicle fee to enter the Motegi complex beforehand.

It’s a must visit place for Honda fans or even just automotive enthusiasts alike. It houses a good selection of important Honda cars and bikes from various eras of the brand. It’s modern and and accessible with close proximity to Motegi circuit and lots of souvenir shops to stock up on Honda merchandise. Parking was fairly accessible and large but expensive considering it’s out in the sticks of Tochigi. The parking is comparable to Tokyo city parking.

All good but disappointed that not all the cars/bikes are placed to favour phorography...also there are some cars or bikes (e.g. Senna's McLaren) that should stay highlighted and alone...she was together with other less successful F1 and also partially covered by the engine in dispay on a stand! A nightmare to take picture of!

Was great to see all the vehicles & bikes Honda have made. Even had a whole floor for their Racing cars & bikes. Definitely worth a visit. Also the actual whole park is epic. They have rides for kids and go karting etc

Great experience, although a little isolated (its best to rent a car to get there) the museum is nicely spread out on two floors. The motorcycle part was the most impressive, especially for me a total neophyte. "Free entry" but fees for parking and for entry are levied upon arrival in the compound.

It’s literally amazing place. Maybe you think the exhibition in the museum is for a car geek, but even if you’re not, you can enjoy this site. The building has a lift therefore disables can access in every floors. When there are schedule of racing, you watch motor races. One problem is the access. The distance from the main station, Utsunomiya, is so far to go there. Nevertheless worth to visit. Again this is amazing place.

Always wanted to visit this place. Off the beaten path, but worth the hike. We had a car so it was a bit easier. Tolls are expensive though. Seeing the f1 cars from every generation is worth the price of admission itself ! Make a day of it, because most likely will take up a whole day.

Excellent selection of motorbikes and cars, if you a motorbike fanatic it is a must visit place. You can easily spend 3 hours in the place. History and story of the origins of the Honda brand. Also check out the demonstration of ASIMO Robot it is a 15min display of ASIMO walking jumping. I would have liked to have seen a more internal working of the bikes and even a chance to ride some bikes !!!!! But it was a good day out. I caught bus from Mito Station Bus No. #45 at Bus stop #7.

This is a MUST COME for all Honda petrol heads. Be it bikes or cars. The collection will leave you wanting more. All displayed bikes and cars are in their upmost prestine condition. Parked nicely with necessary info for you to understand the basics of the cars and bikes. From road cars to SuperGT to Formula cars. From street bikes, race bikes to dirt bikes all in 1 house for you to enjoy FREE! Yes admission to the Collection Hall is free but you do have to pay admission to Twin Ring Motegi itself. Which by itself can satisfy both kids and adults.

A must visit for any Honda fan. You gonna have to get the tickets for entering Motegi as well as parking. Not much to do here besides the Honda museum unless there's a race or you have small kids to take to the park. Also check if the museum is actually open before your make the trek here

A must visit if you're a car/motorcycle enthusiast and a Honda fan! From everyday economobiles like the Honda Accord to high-revving sports legends like the EK9 Type R, as well as some of the most advanced cars on this planet! Be warned though, it's around 100 KM from Tokyo, so I'd highly recommend renting a car! The Honda collection hall is absolutely worth the trek to Motegi though!

Exceeded my expectations, such a great collection of Street motorcycles and cars. The highlight for me the 3rd floor of Racing Motorcycles and cars. Many of them winning various world championships. Lunch afterwards at Motegi Cafe an easy walk away, located towards the race circuit.

As cliche as it sounds it's truly inspiring to visit and learn the history of Honda and see these fun and beautiful machines.

First of all the Honda collection hall is great and you should definitely see it if you are reading this and considering it. But here is the price breakdown: 1800yen per adult to enter the Motegi mobility resort (the Honda hall is located in the resort) 1000yen per car If you are driving from Tokyo then the toll is ~4000yen each way.

It's pretty difficult to get here by train. Don't recommend walking there. I personally rented a car to get here. The gallery is located next to the Twin Ring Motegi track or the Motegi resort. Plenty of parking. Next time I would just plan on staying in the resort because the entire place outside of the museum has a lot to offer beside just looking at stuff.

The museum is fantastic, much bigger than the Ducati museum in Borgo Panigale. You learn a lot! Only 2 negatives point: 1) To get to Motegi from Utsunomia there is no public transportation. You need to either get a taxi for USD200.00 or get a rental car for USD50.00. There is no information on their website on how to get there. 2) I would have expected more opened up engines and technical details. Not just the 1975 CVCC engine. Other than that, fantastic place to be!

Very nice and quiet like all places in Japan with a lot of neat history and things related to Honda from the beginning to present.

A must see for any fans of 2 or 4 wheels The hall itself free entry, but you need to pay for parking.
