This is our second time coming to Thompson's and it won't be our last, this is definitely one of the top 5 restaurants in Ypsilanti!! Amazing food, great bar/drinks, and stellar service!! Your going to pay a little more per plate, $20-30, but the portion sizes make it great for sharing around the table if you want. The cocktails that we have tried have been made very well and you can taste the spirit they used, if I don't taste a heavy hand with pouring my spirit, it's not a cocktail 🍹🥴🤣. Also, if your a bourbon fan, mash bar is next door and is a must stop before or after your meal. (You can also ask server for mash's drink menu at the table if you so desire). The food is the show stopper though, I have tried the shrimp appetizer, the crispy chicken 🐔 sandwich, and the burger 🍔; all of these have been cooked well and full of flavor!! We will be back to work through more of the menu, especially those pizzas 🍕, I love pizza and all of their's sound devine!! Don't forget about dessert, if you have room 😂, we shared a bananas 🍌 Foster. It was Soo good, highly recommend and if you go on your birthday you get a free slice of pie!!

We got the shrimp and grits and the brisket pizza. Both were excellent. The chimichurri went well with the brisket and the grits were very buttery. I would love to come back and try some of the fried chicken pizza!

What a fabulous place. Unique and delicious foods created by a top tier chef, beautiful decor, strong drinks and great service. We had Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich, Fried Chicken, Shrimp appetizer and Cauliflower sandwich. All were great. Our friends had the salmon and they raved over it. The brussel sprouts are fabulous. The brisket flatbread pizza is fantastic. You're gonna love it!

Updated 8/13/23... Seems like this time we paid much more but got a lot less. This time, everyone's fried chicken looked like the same size as before, but this time it was more breading and far less chicken than last time (the actual chicken meat looked like it had been pounded flat on a blacksmith's anvil). And the drinks were more expensive than last time too... my brother and I each got an old fashioned, and they were listed on our bill at $17.10 each :/. Finally, there was a 3% credit card convenience fee added on to the bill that I don't remember seeing last time. *********** Great restaurant with delicious food, good service, and a wonderful atmosphere and modernized facility in a historic building within the Depot Town district. The menu consists primarily of dishes inspired by the American South. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was phenomenal. I was told that the smoked chicken chowder was also very good.

First time trying this place and my overall impressions were these: food great, service meh and atmosphere beautiful ! Food: I ordered the etoffée which was nice and had good flavor. My partner ordered Cajun pasta which they said was very good. Creamy, seasoned well. Service: we were seated immediately on a Saturday night and our food came out fast. The waitress was not as attentive as you would want for a 25% tip and left dirty plates on our table Atmosphere: beautiful exposed brick and wood plank tables.

If you have a picky eater this might not be the place for you, but if you do have one I recommend the kids menu or the blt. The food was amazing, we had the Louisiana shrimp and mini beignets and staff were friendly. pretty good drink selection and nice outdoor seating. highly recommend!

Our waitress was very pleasant and staff was very helpful! I like the setting as well, pleasant place to enjoy a meal and a cocktail. The citrus vinaigrette is pretty good, the ranch is homemade and excellent! I liked the mixed green salad. The salmon was hard / overcooked on the outside and undercooked on the inside. I would give the salmon itself a 2/5. The lemon sauce was good, but the fish tasted otherwise completely unseasoned and kind of bland. The mashed potatoes were pretty good. I was not at all impressed with the macaroni and cheese. The french fries are very good though, and my friend enjoyed the steak.

I really wanted to love this place. The menu was awesome, the place looked up to date and trendy, butttttt, the food was just not good. It is paid parking (on the street, but not on Sunday). My girlfriends and I had a reservation for right when they opened, got us seated right away, but our table had a weird wooden architectural feature next to it which made it hard to get in one of the seats. Our server was super nice and charismatic, but he told us he’s typically a bartender which explains why he forgot to put our order in and it took over an hour to get our food. Which also wasn’t too big of a deal since my girls and I were catching up after not seeing each other for months! Now the food, I got the Bananas Foster French Toast, it was not what I expected at all. It was dry and pretty flavorless. I expected a sugar explosion, but nope, bland, not enough sauce or sugar. I got a side of bacon and it was the fatty chewy kind, yuck. My friend got the chicken and waffles and said it tasted like jerky, but the waffle was good. Other friend got the Country Skillet and said it was good and not spicy at all, which she was happy about. The other friend got fried chicken with collard greens and mac and cheese, which she said was great, said the Mac and cheese was very cheesy. The atmosphere was really cool and we saw an Amtrak train go by, but honestly, super bummed the food didn’t live up to my expectations.

Nice location and good quality food, menu needs a few more dishes looking at the menu feels like there's something missing but one thing for sure I'll say pay attention to your receipt gratuity is automatically added to your total after you give your card to pay. The drinks lmao will have you throwing a dart blindfolded to see what you would like. Everything is unique at this place just feels like there could be more definitely a place to keep figuring out what that may be, check it ou.

We venture out for dinner on a very cold evening and after striking out at two other restaurants we ended up at Thompson &Co.. What a great restaurant to accidentally end up at 😊 They have a small menu but wow, delicious! We both had steaks which were tend and cooked to perfection and the chimichurri just added to the delightfulness. We brought my mom home some chicken chowder and she loved it. We need to try more off their menu. One regret is I didn't photograph our meal and I think the hostess was having a bad evening. Hopefully next time she'll great us with a huge smile 😁. But our waitress was charming and extremely helpful, we truly appreciate her.

Went to Thompson and Co. for the first time tonight. We were completely impressed with the service and the food. We enjoyed the fried okra, three meat pizza, brisket sandwich, and chocolate chess pie. I loved everything we tried. I can’t wait to go back and try some more of their menu! If this restaurant isn’t in your rotation, do yourself a favor and try it out!

The seasonal pie was super delicious! Was more like a cobbler with crunchy bites! The perfect cherry on top to our dinner.

Went last night with friends and loved their Veggies 3 Ways! I don’t always order vegetarian when going out, but these cozy, perfectly roasted and seasoned veggies on their dreamy cheddar grits felt both indulgent and healthy! Hope to see more plant-forward entrees on the menu, because they can do them well!

Food was amazing! My server was Sam and he was very polite and informative. Drinks were really good and I was happy to find out they were from a local brewery.
