I’ve visited here maybe 5 or 6 times now. If I was local, I’d be here all the time. The spinach and mushroom enchiladas were absolutely outstanding, and the sides (beans and rice) were perfect accompaniments. The chips and salsa are some of the best I’ve ever had.

One of our favorite places to eat! Consistently fresh, delicious food and prompt, friendly service. Best chips and salsa for starters. (Chips served warm and ultra-crisp and light). Highly recommend the Baked Avocados, Sweet Potato Cakes, Cheese and Onion Enchiladas with Black Beans and Street Corn and Fried Oreos. Many other menu choices, including lots of choices for vegetarians.

Great vibes at this large location. The meat itself seemed a bit tough and dry at times, but their tacos and burritos tasted great overall. Not too badly priced either.

Walk inside and there is this authentic atmosphere within the brick walls. Busy restaurant, so there was a half our wait. The tortilla chips and salsa come first. Chips are colorful, thin, crispy, and delicious. Ordered the build-a-burrito. I ordered mine with pork(excellent), black beans, verde sauce, and ordered it “wet”. They stuffed it full with rice, corn, and my options. Delicious! Couldn’t finish it. I coming back for more!

Yum yum yum......order the Baked Avocado app....you will not be disappointed one bit. All the food was great, great atmosphere, great staff, great location and just all around great. In Ypsi? It's a must stop. All of Depot Town is great and this is just one place that makes it great. The Margaritas are absolutely delicious as well.

Overall excellent dining experience. Chips & salsa were fresh and had a very pleasant taste - light, not overcooked. Tacos and taco salad tasty without being smothered in sauces. Margaritas available in many flavors and tequila options, our originals were good sized and addictive. Waiter was friendly and helpful. Menu was online by scanning.

One of my favorite taco places. They have great apps as well but usually get the tacos here, especially on Taco Tuesdays. As a vegetarian, I'd say the avocado and cauliflower are the best, followed by the papas/potatoes. Friends like the chicken tinga and fish tacos as well. The happy hour and specials are awesome everyday. El president margaritas are strong!

Charming restaurant! It was busy for a Thursday so we sat at the bar. The margaritas were delicious-lots of fun options! We ordered the tacos: it was awesome we could pick the 3 we wanted. Prices were very reasonable, too! I’ll definitely come back if I’m in the area.

Delicious! Love the avocado tacos! And the margaritas were so flavorful. Staff very friendly. Has outdoor seating options. Vegetarian and vegan friendly! Can't wait to go back.

Love avocado? Love margaritas? This is THE place for you! The avocado appetizer is simple but delicious, and an especially great deal during happy hour. The avocado tacos were stunning, and the fish taco was great as well. I love the idea of a cauliflower taco and while good, it pales in comparison to the avocado ones. Definitely get your tacos with soft corn tortillas for a more authentic taco. The street corn is a great swap for a side, too.

I am not a fan of Mexican cuisine…but man the Chile Relleños is PERFECT!! The combination of crispy and fluffiness texture is paired well with a sweet and savior morsel. If you’re like me this is no taco, turned borrito turned fajita…it’s a authentic dish with and original flavor!! Enjoy!

Excellent service and flavor! We were thrilled to try out this restaurant from the high praise it received, and it did not disappoint! We had the Baked Avocados and Califotnia Club burrito, which were fresh and very satisfying! Will be back!

Recently friends of ours recommended we all head here for Tuesday Taco night. We were not disappointed! Tacos and margaritas for everyone! The food was awesome and the service was great. Highly recommend.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. best Mexican food I’ve ever had in my life. They have such an extensive menu with so many different kinds of things that usual Mexican places don’t have. I have tried every appetizer from them and every single one was delicious. Their potato zucchini hash is so flavorful and yummy. Service is good too.

Had heard great things about this restaurant and yet I found this to be mediocre at best. Servers were reluctant to bring to menu since they wanted you to use the QR code even though cell service was not the best. Wi-Fi was a pain that required us to ask for password and server seemed troubled to provide which took a fews times due not knowing the capitalization of “tacos4life”. Chimichanga was okay but corn deep was a big disappointment and apparently seemed to watered down. Prices were fair and service was quick.

I visited Ypsi for the weekend, and this is one of the only places that stay open late. Im from California, so I often eat Mexican food, but this was hands down some of the best mexican food I've had. Everyone loved their meals. Thank you.

Been going to Maiz since 2018. They have the best tortilla chips I've ever had, light and crispy, just the right amount of salt. Also the tastiest street corn. Happy hour (9p-close) has become a weekly event; can't beat half-price grande margs (12+ flavors), 25-oz drafts (always a sour on tap), and appetizers. The bartenders are attentive and awesome, the place is bustling and fun, and the staff and managers are friendly and good at what they do. We often see staff hanging out at the bar on their nights off, because they like being there; that says a lot about the place!

Very delicious Mexican/Tex-Mex right in Ypsilanti. My wife and I travel extensively and it was a real pleasure to experience MAIZ Mexican Cantina. The Carnitas Tacos (pork braised in-house with oranges, onion, beer, and tequila; then shredded and topped with onion, cilantro, and grilled pineapple) and barbacoa beef “Amaizing Burrito” mouthwatering loaded with flavor. The guacamole and salsa were delectable. Take a look at the photos I posted. We are going back again for more!

We came here with some friends for a drink. We stayed long enough for dinner and I ordered a veterinarian burrito. It was mostly rice. That part I was not pleased about. We ordered frozen margaritas and they came to our table about 40 percent frozen and were completely melted in 30 minutes. Not my favorite place. For two drinks and two dinners we spent 60 dollars. Street corn was great!

Ordered a plan bean burrito when the food came out it was a soft shell taco, we told waitress and they remade it. The burrito came out 10 min later and was flour tortilla was burnt black. They tried hiding it by covering it with lettuce. The mixed fajitas was bland the best thing was chips and salas. Waitress was not good and cooking staff so slow.

I have mixed feelings about my experience here. It definitely is an up and happening establishment. But it’s not “authentic” Mexican by any means. I’d say it’s more authentic than fast food taco places but is not authentic. The food, as typical of Mexican food, was messy, and I was slightly disappointed that we had no napkins. I had shredded chicken tacos and they were so juicy they were dripping everywhere and I had no napkins, I asked for some (clearly my hands and everything was a mess) and my server came back over 10 mins later with 3 napkins. So yeah that got to me a little. There’s also definitely a cross contamination problem here because I specifically chose a meal that had no onions in it yet there were onions and black beans all throughout my tacos (black beans were not an intended ingredient in my meal either). The main courses were good. The Queso Bandido wasn’t my favorite, it wasn’t thoroughly heated. Also I ordered a side of corn and it was frozen when I received it. Like straight from the freezer or at least fridge. It’s sad because the main courses were good but there were flaws and it was soooo expensive for us to have a mediocre experience.

The food was wonderful! The service was mostly quite good, but we had to request extra napkins and drinks refills that I thought should have been offered automatically. The place is nicely decorated and cheerful, but the ladies' room had a raised threshold that I stumbled on as I was entering. There were no warning signs or markings on the threshold to alert clumsy folks like myself to beware. Despite the minor issues, I will definitely eat there again. The food really is exceptionally tasty.

Been coming here more frequently and still loving the place. They have some really good salsa and their happy hour is really great. I love how they rotate drinks and keep the menu fresh. Definitely the place to go if you're looking for a good meal or drink!

We stopped here on a Friday night around 8pm and we're seated in about 15 minutes. We ordered Sweet Potato cakes as an appetizer, and enjoyed the fresh chips and salsa. Everyone enjoyed their food. I had the Flautas. Service was great, and we stayed quite a while visiting.

Excellent food, great service! The baked avocado appetizer was very tasty as were the tacos and chimichangas. The tortilla chips were hot and fresh. Highly Recommended.

Pretty good food and drinks. The service is inconsistent. Sometimes it’s great, but the last time I was there, the waiter completely ignored us for all of happy hour after our first round of drinks. I had to ask someone to get him, and he even said that we were his only table, but “it’s just a chill day” . So basically just confirming he chose to ignore us. Cool… haven’t been back since.

The food was great! It was packed and loud. Our wait time for a table for two was 45 minutes, so call ahead.

The food was delicious. From the appetizers to my meal, I greatly enjoyed everything that came to the table. I was most surprised by how much I enjoyed the baked avocado. It was downright delectable. The ultimate queso fundido was so good it was hard to stop eating it. The service was great. One thing to fix is the amount of gnats in the restaurant, it was a little too much.

Great place. Our server was amazing. The baked avocados were delicious. We got the mixed fajitas for 2, and there was barely any meat for two people on there, so that was disappointing. The chips and salsa were amazing, and I could have gotten full off of that alone. The fries oreos were a great way to end the night!

I’m going to make it a tradition - I’m coming here with my family every time my kid graduates from University of Michigan. Mediocre service but solid classic offerings. Come for the graduation but stay for the chips and salsa.

Our food was amazing, drinks were great and our waitress was awesome. I wish I could remember her name. We had an all around great experience.

The wait wasn't too bad, but there was still quite a wait for a weeknight. Check in online before you go. The guacamole was super creamy. The queso fundido was delicious. The thing I enjoyed the most were the chips, they were the thinnest, crispiest little dippers, absolutely delightful. The street corn was unremarkable, not worth the 2.99 in my opinion. The flautas were fine, but not unique or particularly well made. The toppings and presentation of the flautas made them attractive.

Anywhere that has $2 tacos in taco Tuesdays is the place to be. I met a friend, who was familiar with the place, but it was my first time. Half off grande sized margaritas for happy hour was glorious! I ordered the strawberry margarita which was strong and well-needed after a long work day. I ordered 3 tacos. The fish, beef barbacoa, and cauliflower. I really enjoyed the cauliflower and beef barbacoa tacos. I wasn’t impressed with the fish taco, it was too battered to my liking. But the complimentary chips and salsa was great. I ordered the guacamole as a side and was also delicious. I will be definitely be returning for taco Tuesday in the future!
