👍👍 Don't listen to the negative reviews! This place is great! The price is awesome in comparison with the total rip off hotels located nearby. Don't listen to the negative reviews! This place is great! The price is awesome in comparison with the total rip off hotels located nearby. My girlfriend and I were desperate to find a hotel at a good price due to budget reasons, we checked around and most wanted around $160!!! We were shocked, even the Super 8 quoted me $180!!! That's basically highway robbery! We checked with the Sands Motel. Quoted me $60 over the phone. When we arrived he gave me the key so I could look in the room. My girlfriend and I did, we were satisfied and booked it. The room itself is older and the stuff is cheaper, but what do you expect from a budget motel right outside of Joshua Tree NP? The shower was great with plenty of hot water and the bed was comfy and nice for the both of us. We slept great and would definitely stay here again. This has been a great budget hotel, cause lord knows, I have seen some really really bad ones and this ain't even close. I highly recommend the Sands Motel!!!!

The room was really clean. The place got renovated quite recently. It was a really comfortable stay. Had a good night sleep. The owners were really friendly and the area is pretty safe. I would definitely recommend anyone is stay here.

Until they get an idea of what hospitality is all about, I would not recommend this place especially when they charge more than what is posted here. They charged us $60 and when we took our bags into the room I almost vomited. The beds were caved in, stained blankets and sheets, not to mention no towels. The man who owns the place is a nice man, I will give him that, but the room was something not fit for human usage. The bathroom smelled like putrefied feces, and there were finger streaks of God knows what smeared on the room walls, holes in the walls, chairs with so many dark filthy stains you could not see the original color. Did not want to even sit on the beds or take off my shoes for fear of getting scabies, or something like it. I did check for bedbugs, did not find any. Outside, the place looks quaint, inside... YUCK! PLEASE, if you want to stay in business, learn what proper hygiene is required for staying within health standards dictated by law. I was only given half of my $60 back when asking for a refund to leave. While in the room for the whole 30 minutes, I did use my laptop to find another hotel... so their wireless, is great! There, I said something nice! I wish them only good luck, but please learn to clean... properly...

At first i gave 1 star because of how filthy and how much work was needed on the hotel but im bumping it up to 3 stars because the hotels maintenance man moved us to a different room for better a/c and a cleaner area after we brought up our a/c being to loud for our baby to sleep and the tv being broken. Customer service is a 5 star thats for sure. The room i was first into(room at the very end) needs some work and a good cleaning. The room im in now(room 110) is actually quite nice.

Nice modern addition to our desert. Lots of memories from the many years my mother lived there. When it was The Oleander Motel. Nice new look for this historic piece of the mojave desert.

Well, there are good things. The service was great. The room looked great. After staying there, the TV was barely audible. I guess because of thin walls, they limit the TV volume because of said thin walls. We ended up using our Hotspot and watched a movie on our laptop instead. It's an old motor inn, which I like. I think it was quite overpriced at $106 for the night. Note to owners, clean up the blood on ceiling and walls. Maybe better amenities, like Good soap and clean up the mold in the small shower. The view outside our room was great! I would stay here again if it was more affordable.
