Food was good but a bit overcooked, especially the egg. I assume it was cause it was really busy for a Sunday … since it took some time to also receive the food. The pain au chocolat looked amazing but didn’t meet expectations on fluffiness. But overall… an good, dog-friendly, and family-friendly brunch spot 😊

Totally loved this place. They don’t take reservations so it’s more a matter of walking in and waiting until a table is free. We arrived at 12:00 and the waiting time was about 10 minutes, so not really and. The atmosphere is unique; really relaxed and alternative. It made me feel super relaxed on a Sunday brunch. The bunch bagel was really good, and so were the pastries. Totally recommend it!

Friendly coffee shop, that offered to make me gluten-free brunch. I had a Shak Shukka and they added tahini to the dish which was great. They also made me a chai latte with lactose-free milk. Great! The only reason there isn’t 5 stars is because two outside tables had smokers and one was smoking right beside me and the smoke and the ashes from the ash tray were blowing towards me and it made it an unpleasant experience so I rushed my food and then left. Sadly this is not uncommon in Switzerland but a dedicated smokers area outside would be better I think.

Really friendly staff. The dirty chai iced latte was delicious. Enjoyed their bagels as well. Will definitely come back to try their brunch

Great spot for having breakfast. We ordered the shakshoka , the croissant with avocado and the oatmeal bowl. It was delicious. The atmosphere was amazing. The outdoor seating area was great.

Great coffee and friendly staff. I visited the place during a renovation and was impressed with the temporary solution they came up with in a container right outside the cafe.

👋Starting with the good aspects: Food was delicious. Why then only 3 stars?🌟🌟🌟 - We waited around 20 min until the waiter took our order after reminding her at least once - Had to remind her again twice to bring the bill - Portions were quite small (Photo shows overnight oats with children, fruits, granola and yoghurt) Probably not her fault since she was handling the whole cafe by herself. More of a management failure due since they were obviously understaffed.

Now that is a cool coffee... I'm a Dean Martin kind of guy and I enjoy having my coffee watching girls passing by and doing my work as well! The coffee was good and the service was with a smile. I would like a water jug somewhere or a dispenser. Friendly advice

I have been to Kafi Freud many times before and I specially enjoy their coffee and food. I can't say the same about my last visit though, where we ordered standard drinks (Aperol Spritz and Hugo) and they were way below average. Actually, I can't remember having such bad drinks, ever. They both tasted like bad quality soft drinks.

First coffee in Zurich, and I start to doubt if I could find anywhere than here. Deciduous pastries too! Perfect place for breakfast/brunch.

A cozy, albeit expensive, coffee house. The place is well decorated, there's space outside, and the staff is polite. We mostly have breakfast there, and the coffee, croissant, pain au chocolat, and bread are good. The jam is not great - hard to tell the taste beyond sweetness - and cheese options are ok. The chocolate cake is great. The only complaints are the overall prices - you can find better value not too far, but if you want to stay walking distance from Irchel, this is probably the best option.

Tasty food and many vegan options. Slightly on the expensive side, even for Zurich. Very nice place to chill and work/hangout. They have an open library and you can borrow their books for free!

After visiting a few times, I’ve grown to really enjoy Kafi Freud. It’s warm and comforting, especially on a gray, drizzling Zürich day. There is little better than having a cappuccino and a cinnamon roll to start your day.

Super cute cafe with the friendliest staff, warm vibes and wifi and place to work/study/read. They ran out of the chocolate croissants so I tried their bread and butter pudding and it was the best I've ever had with bits of chocolate and drizzle of warm Maple syrup. Highly recommend!

Really nice people and very good coffee. They have a cute space with both indoor and outdoor seating. Very calm atmosphere with many people reading, writing or just having a chat with friends. Would be back to try their brunch

My favourite coffee shop in the neighbourhood. Their cappuccino is amazing, and they have lots of sweet as well as savoury options for snacks. You can also buy coffee beans from there, to make your own delicious coffee right at home. They also have nice outdoor seating, perfect for a quick brunch / coffee break in the sun.

Best cafe in the neighborhood okay? Especially in terms of cappuccino/latte😋 Chocolate croissant is another must-try guilty pleasure! Don’t know whether it is just a coincidence or whatever — why dogs here are so cute? Nothing cozier than petting a random cute dog 🐶 + tasty cafe + read something in a sunny morning

I have to express my extreme disappointment with my recent visit to Kafi Freud in Zurich. My friends and I decided to go for breakfast, hoping for a pleasant and enjoyable experience. However, the staff's behavior completely ruined our morning. Right from the moment we walked in, it was clear that the staff at Kafi Freud had no interest in providing a welcoming atmosphere. Their bad attitudes were evident, and it felt as though we were a burden to them rather than paying customers. The grumpy tone of voice with which we were greeted immediately set the tone for the rest of our visit. It was clear that the staff had no interest in providing any form of genuine hospitality. As we placed our orders, their impatience and lack of willingness to assist with any questions or special requests was incredibly frustrating. Not only was the staff unwelcoming, but their overall attitude towards us and other customers was simply unacceptable. They lacked the basic courtesy and respect one would expect from a hospitality establishment. It's understandable that everyone has bad days, but that should never be an excuse for providing poor service to paying customers.

Lovely atmosphere, one of the nicest cafés in the area. Very laid back, and the coffee is delicious, so is the scrambled egg and the fresh House bread is incredible... Highly recommended the Flat White! The staff are friendly and clearly enjoy their jobs. Would always pop in when passing.

Perfectly cooked traditional shakshuka, good flat white and plum cake. It was completely worth waiting 15 minutes for a table.

Our favorite breakfast place in the neighbourhood. One of the best pain au chocolat in Zurich but also good coffee and choice of cakes. Savoury options are also delicious, we recommend the bagel, eggs with avocado or shakshouka. The waiters are always nice and you can stay as long as you like talking or with a book/computer. Weekends it tends to be more busy but the wait is worth it.

One of the good spots for a lazy weekend brunch in Zurich. Bring a book or.borrow one of there's - they even offered me to take one with me if I liked it! The Shakshuka was quite good - a good blend of spices that compliment well and nothing standing out too much.

Kind/happy staff, even though it was busy we didn’t have to wait for a table. Very accessible location and food/portion sizes were decent. Clean bathrooms. No English menu was tough, and they had run out of most items by the time we arrived at 2pm so beware, late brunchers!
