don't even bother, since the european union co-financed the restoration project (very badly done)- this place has become ridiculous. Entrance which should be free is now charged 10€ (reservation needed) which most of the citizens can not afford especially elderly. Meaning only privileged few can visit altar of their homeland. Typical of the EU

It is nicely done, renovated with great stories and audio-visual experience. Also with great view on the whole city of Zagreb. Great for kids but is also fun for adults. We had really great time, enjoying the whole time

Offiziell noch geschlossen wg Restaurierungsarbeiten. Sieht aber schon sehr vielversprechend aus. Wortwörtlich gesprochen.... wo ein Wille ist ist auch ein Weg Leute = ) (Translated by Google) Officially still closed due to restoration work. But it looks very promising. Literally speaking.... where there's a will there's a way folks = )

The castle is closed but you can climb the walls on the left side of the castle easily. The view from the castle is incredible and is worth visiting.

Beautiful castle. Great exhibition on the local flora and fauna inside. Good view. Nice hick up. Recommend to take the easy educational route up and the other down. Had a lot of fun.

Stunning location, the interactive exhibit they had was absolutely amazing! I highly recommend checking it out and reading the history in that section. The tower itself is really cool as well, at the top you have binoculars with built in AR to guide you in what you’re seeing. You can take a taxi up here for about 7-10 euros from the city center and hike down.

The exhibits have been removed pending renovation of some of the buildings, this does mean that it is now free to visit. It is a gentle hike from down, with the buses dropping you about a 45 min walk away, it is possible to drive closer, but the walk was fine. Good views once you arrive toward Zagreb.

We came on a Wednesday, but it was closed! Apparently the castle only operates on Saturday and Sunday... so the gate was locked shut. 😒 However there was a group of well-dressed gentlemen (and gentle ladies) strolling around the inside of the castle at this time, laughing and talking loudly about investments. 🧐 My girlfriend and I could only walk around the outside like peasants, dreaming of what glories lie within. That being said, it looked fairly ok from the outside. Tickets are 60 HRK.

Beautiful castle, from bottom to top it took as 30min of hiking following the route 12. The Medvedgrad is very nice, interior is full of interesting history facts and interactive content. Also, view on Zagreb from top is amazing.

Located just north of Zagreb, this mountain is filled with walking trails and is great for getting away from the busy & noisy city. You can also drive up by car or bicycle, and the cable car starting in Gračani should soon be finished. Usually quite busy on weekends, but if you can find the time to visit during the week, you'll have a peaceful and calming walk.

It’s intriguing and breathtaking when you finally make it to the medvegrad castle. If want to have a wholistic experience enjoy hiking through the forest to the top. The Queen well serves refreshing and clean water from the mountains. The legend about the Black Queen captivates your mind when you watch the motion pictures projected on the walls. But don’t forget to get a souvenir for your loved ones.

We walked to the castle all the way from Zagreb city centre. The walk was tough in the 34 degree heat, however very much worth it when we reached the top. The view is insane, and the castle is very nice to look around. You do have to buy tickets, but it’s worth it for the view. Would recommend highly.

Beautiful castle with nice personnel, entry fee was reasonable for the experience. Easily accessible by public transport of Zagreb to Šestine plus short hike (50min). Possible to do picnic in nice environment. Guided tours are included in ticket price but you don't need them because of interactive presentations. It was worth it.

Beautiful! I like the museum too. Maybe the castle should be open without paying and the museum should be paid instead! Or if we pay for entrance, the working hours could be longer!

(Translated by Google) The renovated Medvedgrad has become a visitor center with several functional and educational units - which are very interesting, fun, educational and interactive, both for children and adults. A great option for an afternoon trip to Zagreb with family or friends.

I'm satisfied by visiting Medvedgrad site with my family because of the nature, the view and the fairytale-like castle which pleased my daughter. But the fortress itself is much historically inauthentic because of the too much of modern parts built with modern materials, such as concrete, making it more look like a film stage. Luckily, while we been there we've been informed by the most friendly staff that the Medvedgrad's fortress will be reconstructed in next two years to make it valuable again.

Breathtaking views of Zagreb. Great interactive space in the tower. Def worth a visit of a piece of local history. Nice modern installations (thank you EU !) If you are not used to or are uncomfortable driving in Croatia, may not be for you however. The last part of the arrival is full of curves and narrow, unkept streets and people may honk at you if you try to drive slower

(Translated by Google) Superbly arranged. It will be great when they open it all the way. I hope they don't jack up the ticket prices. Great for kids. The ambiance of Medvednica is unsurpassed. (Original) Vrhunski sređeno. Bit će odlično kada ga skroz otvore. Nadam se da neće nabiti cijene ulaznica. Odlično za klince. Ambijent Medvednice nenadmašan.

Nicely renovated castle. Tickets cost about 6-7 euros depending on weekday/weekend. The South Tower is a nice exhibit on the flora, fauna and history of the castle and its surroundings.

It is one of the best attraction around Zagreb city. Unfortunatelly it closes at 4pm, so you csnt really catch a sunset. Beylund the location, the route to there is also quite magnificient.

Beautiful castle in the hills above Zagreb. Great staff and guided tour included in a very modest entry fee. Well renovated castle with interesting history

  • 5/5 Lya S. 9 months ago on Google
The castle is really worth a visit because of the way it partly has been rebuilt and the way its history is being told! The tower has beautifully been transformed into a fun, innovative, and interactive way to tell about the nature around Medvedgrad. The under-world with it's water sounds was very soothing!

  • 4/5 Marina K. 11 months ago on Google
Nicely rebuilt on the remains of the 14th century castle, very informative and interactive contents, wonderful view of Zagreb and all surroundings. Unfortunately no place to have a coffee or a soft drink, icecream…

  • 3/5 DJ H. 2 years ago on Google
Renovation started in 2018, planned to finish in 2019. Still not opened. Construction company probably took all the money from EU funds and didn't finish the renovation. On that note, renovation loks disgusting and ruins the spirit of the historic building. For anyone interested if you can enter, probably in the evening if you jump over the fence or climb the rock wall on the left side. There are cameras but probably fake ones since i see many people who reviewed got in. When it reopens, it's definitely worth a visit. You can hike or come with a car and park it nearby.

  • 2/5 Ante M. 3 years ago on Google
(Translated by Google) Abandoned unnecessarily. Fantastic location and historic look. Nowhere does anyone seem to have been ravaged by the crown, and salaries are probably paid to all employees on a regular basis. If the work of the museum cannot be organized here in the fresh air or what is already happening there, then the whole of Medvednica should be fenced off and access denied. (Original) Napušteno bez potrebe. Fantastičan položaj i povjesni izgled.

Beautiful, amazing view, and the tour guided (you have to pay 50 kunas card or money) is good also. I love it.

  • 5/5 Andrej S. 2 years ago on Google
Now that is has been renovated, an entrance fee of about 10 EUR is being charged. It is an amazing place offering an amazing view, truly amazing, but I think 10 EUR is a bit steep.

Beautiful view on the city of Zagreb and surrounding area. The interactive museum inside the castle tells a story about legends and historic moments. Good for kids. Only thing missing are more various options for a restaurant or a bar, as there is only one open restaurant near the castle

(Translated by Google) We visited the center with our granddaughter, who is seven years old. The guide who took us through the center and the exhibition was extremely interesting, nice, with a lot of sense to make sightseeing interesting for our little girl as well. The center and the exhibition are interesting, multimedia, excellently conceived in three thematic units. Highly recommended for a visit!! Not to mention the view of our beautiful Zagreb - if you choose a sunny and clear day. We are proud that Zagreb got another place that will be remembered by tourists!!!
