It's very rare to find Indian restaurants in Eastern Europe, so were especially delighted to visit Makalu on it's grand opening. The menu has a wide selection of appetizers and main courses. The taste was excellent, the portions huge, the prices reasonable, and friendly staff and owner. Two people could probably make a meal from just 2 or 3 appetizers. This was our first visit to the city of Zilina but we will definitely return to Makalu on our next trip.

Such a gem that I wanted to stop by and write this comment! The food was incredibly delicious, facilities were clean, and the whole atmosphere with quiet Hindustani music in the background reminded a lot about India. 5- star restaurant!

Food was actually very good (lamb, chicken, paneer with sauces, naans), rice was not so good, and soup and sauces were all bit too salty for Indian cuisine. Atmosphere on the other hand was very boring, even a bit disturbing - old school Slovak style, too light, nk heart. Music was some modern pop with advertisements. I gave 3 stars because I expect atmosphere, service and food perfection from 4.9stars Indian restaurant (actual rating). Would definitely come back for good food for lunch, but not for fancy dinner with wife/friends.

Best Nepalese/Indian cuisine in town. Authentic meals that spark joy

The menu without pictures is very large. It was difficult to understand what the dish looked like. After talking with the waiter, we were told that the dish we wanted was not available. We left and were left hungry.

Deceiving looks, the restaurant interior is nothing special, but the food is amazing with authentic flavors. Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended.

Always pleasant experience. I would recommend chicken tikka masala or lamb masala dish with naan bread. Just delicious. If you like milk shakes then try mango lassi - rich creamy yoghurt shake. Happy to visit again soon.
