Large park surrounding the castle is nice for a short walk and sitting on a bench. Castle has some nice expositions and great view from the tower.

Good place. we went here when outside was temp of 36C. inside was nice and cool. I highly recommend the walk you will learn so much about the history of the region and this castle on top of it. views from top of the tower is amazing. service is absolutely great. highly recommend.

Large park but it was closed because they wrote only open 2 days per week so pay attention for that.

My friend had there a wedding and it was beautiful. It is beautiful and even has a museum. It's a historical gem nestled on the banks of the Váh River. Imposing and well-preserved, it offers a captivating glimpse into Slovakia's rich heritage. The castle's exhibits showcase centuries of history, from medieval times to modern exhibitions. The surrounding park and river views add to its charm.

We really enjoyed our visit. A nice park which is free and a small castle and exhibition available for 5 euros. The exhibition set through the rooms of the castle was very informative and the staff were fantastic with several speaking excellent English and very keen to share their knowledge. Very well laid out ending with a climb up 100 plus steps to a tower with panoramic views. A small tea room outside with good beer soft drinks and food. Again the staff here were amazing . Highly recommended. We loved the over shoes to protect the new oak flooring!!

The way up to the castle is easy and short. On the way I met some grandmothers who arrived at the castle. The castle is in ruins. Still, it is worth visiting to see its distribution and structure. Although the best are the views of the park from this privileged location.

Auch wenn von außen das Schloss nicht sehr prächtig ausschaut hat es drinnen viel zu bieten. Eintritt beträgt mittlerweile 8€ pro Erwachsenen, aber dadurch das wir auch bei der historischen Drahtbinderausstellung waren wurde der Preis abgezogen und wir zahlten nur 5€ pro Kopf. Drinnen ist eine schöne historische Ausstellung die Mann ohne Führung genießen kann und zum Schluss noch die Aussicht vom Turm über ganz Žilina und die Umgebung. Den Park kann man gratis benutzen und mit einer Decke ist es der top Platz für ein Picknick, da er eher mäßig besucht ist...

Wunderschöner Schlosspark mit alten Bäumen, ein Traum. Das Schloss wird noch saniert.

My kids (7, 6, 4, 2) and I loved the tinkers exposition, so unique. We went to the main building (fabulous entry hall) with the history/archeology/old toys/furniture exposition. We did not order a guided your as it would be long for the kids. Anyway, the guides stopped us at the the top spots in the museum and have us some information anyway, they could adjust the speech to small kids and it was fun for everyone. The museum now cooperates with a Bulgatian artist who upcycles old electric appliances and makes " funny robots" out of it. So much fun for kids whilst cruising the exposition, it gave them the extra twist so they were looking for these robots everywhere and were excited to go the next room and the next. The view tower is very pretty. You can see the confluence of two rivers in one corner of the garden. We loved the park with old trees as well. Nice for a walk or museum time with the smallest as well.

Near castle, there is a big park, it is worth seeing it. :)

Small but nice castle. It's very well renovated. The park next to the castle is huge and nice for a picnic.

Looks a nice enough castle but a bit busy and commercial. No dogs allowed in the adjacent park, not even on a lead. We left.

Great historic place, but also great place to do a picnic and as a local tip... the inner walls that sorround the castle are used to do some bouldering and climbing.

Good place, nice park, it’s shadows really help when it’s 32-35 Centigrade. Museum is informative and not boring, but only about 10% items have descriptions in English, the rest are Slovak only. This is a minor problem for me, speaking Ukrainian and Polish I can guess a lot in Slovak, but it can be a challenge for others.

Lovely park for a walk and/or picnic. There's a lovely looking café in the castle grounds too, but I did not visit. Didn't pay for the ticket to go inside the castle either, but I'm sure it's worth it.

The center part is not too good condition but the seeing and the park is nice.

Nice place to visit. One worker at cash desk was very angry for some unknown reason, everyone else was very nice.

We've seen the castle from the outside. Next to it is nice free parking and the castle itself is located in a pleasant park.
